As swanky and as expensive as they were, I would always get ingrown hairs and bumpy skin afterwards. It was so bad that I just stopped getting waxed all together. I finally gave it another try and somehow found Jaclyn. Jaclyn is absolutely amazing. She leaves your skin completely smooth with none of the horrible waxing side effects. The best! Jaclyn has a holistic approach, providing the most thorough and comfortable experience with Brazilian waxing that I've ever had. First, she was able to accommodate me for a last minute same day appointment. I also appreciate that she can be reached via phone (many places nowadays only book online...). Her suite has a luxurious spa feel with soothing music, calm lighting, and a comfortable room temperature. She provides a cleansing cloth prior to the session for self-cleaning, applies some cleansing oils beforehand herself to maintain the skin, and during the session applies soothing products immediately after the wax and before moving on to the next section. She tests the wax on a small area of skin before starting to make sure the temperature is comfortable, and she explains how she never double dips, which I greatly appreciate. Very clean! She takes her time, and the pain was very fleeting (what pain?). You also get a soothing aloe gel application at the end, PLUS a little gift bag with a body cream sample & and an after-care tips card. I highly recommend, and will definitely be back! read more

I do really love Jaclyn as a woman and independent business owner, but I also have to be honest about my experience. The wax I bought was the 3 sessions on Groupon. My first wax with her took about 45 mins (way to long). I told her I want her to count for me and her response was something along the lines of "I do have my own way of doing things, sorry, but I will try". Okay, she tried. I noticed she used the wax in a different way, maybe for her luxury experience(?), but the wax didn't stay on long, she used small portions, and gooped on aloe vera on after every rip-off. I left feeling unsure. She did shared with me tips for helping in-growns and I did use them, but the in-growns I had after her appointment were some of the worst I ever had. Like shaving. But I gave it a shot the second time. I asked her to use less aloe vera and she replied similarly to above "I do have my own way of doing things". She was VERY hesitant to listen to her guest and give her the experience she asked, because she was so sure of her own way. The same experience ensued. This time I noticed the hair was not pulled all the way out. Like shaving. The in-growns were still bad for me this time. I do think Jaclyn is great for some woman, as seen by her other reviews. But perhaps for women like me who have very very coarse think hair with deep root, this waxing experience may not work. read more

I went to Jaclyn about a month ago when I was looking for a new esthetician for my eyebrows. They are grizzly beasts so there's a lot to work with. I was so pleased with how kind and informative she was throughout the entire process. She took her time to clean them and even shape them for me and explain the best future for them. That's why I decided to look in to her services for bikini and leg waxing. My experiences at other salons kept me from keeping it up, but she talked me through the entire process. I shared a few concerns with her beforehand and she, again, talked me through the entire process. Jaclyn really knows her business and her craft. All the way down to the true biology of it. As a woman of northern european decent, I tend to have very thick coarse hair. I feel like perhaps this is why in the past, my experiences with others were very different. But Jaclyn proved it can be done, with minimal pain and she did it with poise, grace and kindness. Never at any time did I feel like she would rush and area or insisted on working a sensitive area. She was careful and concise and was very attuned to reading my skin and its needs during the process and made adjustments accordingly. I felt a bit guilty that my process took so long (remember the Anne Hathaway makeover in Princess Diaries?) but Jaclyn was kind and polite and checked in frequently to see if I needed anything and it was so worth it. I found Jaclyn off groupon and I have to say I am soooo glad I did! I have only had about 4 brazillian bikini waxes in my life....all of which were terrible and painful and left me almost in years. She had me filled out the form, then proceeded with a complimentary consultation. I came to see her for a facial and a brazillian wax which I normally get done once a month. Outstanding Esthetician. Jaclyn makes your experience comfortable and relaxing. I have gone to her for waxing. I expected pain considering my last experience with sugaring at another salon which was at a scale of 10. 10 being the most painful. I was pleasantly surprised as I did not experience pain. Her waxing technique and the type of wax she uses minimizes discomfort. She also uses cold aloe Vera after each waxing that feels incredibly comforting.
