She's always been patient and supportive, especially since I've never quite been able to get used to the feeling of sugaring. I went here to get my eyebrows thinned and shaped. They did not have any photo books in the place for me to look through and point out what I wanted. The stylist spent less than 10 minutes with me, and only did three or four pulls on each brow. She did not clean up my brows adequately afterwards - My brows felt very sticky. I really wanted to wait to leave a review in the hopes of hearing back from management. I had yet to receive a response since 7/24. For my appointment I was getting a regular leg wax. My sugarist was very kind, professional, and to give her some credit disclosed that the sugar she was using wasn't the one they normally use. Now after my appointment she let me have a look and while I did notice some hair left over she cleaned it up and I left. Only when I left I noticed that there was hair left over sporadically. They weren't very noticeable but when you pause to look you can tell that the sugar didn't pick up all the hair. I went back and spoke to the front desk and she mentioned that they were running low on supplies hence they were using a different wax and that the only thing they could do was schedule a "clean up" within the 72 hours. I wasn't available nor did I want to do a service so close when they didn't have the regular sugar they use. Why would I come back next day for the service not to be up to its normal standard? Anyways I asked to speak to management and was given an email and on this end I share some blame become I kept misspelling the email so it wasn't being sent out. I also did leave my number to multiple people over the span of a few days being told that someone would reach out to me. I have since sent the email on 7/29 and was informed (though social media) that management normally responds within 24-48 hours. I haven't been contacted by phone or email and to be quite honest this whole situation is so disappointing considering how much I admired the service provided by this establishment. To spend $60 on a wax for legs isn't something everyone has the means to do so thus I would consider it a luxury service and for it not to be done to a level of expectation I've become familiar with is not only disappointing but a waste of funds. I don't know if management will reach out but I have since canceled all my appointments and will not be returning. If this is how they handle clients I don't want to risk running into a similar situation and being left without anyone to support me with an issue. read more

I went in for a full Brazilian. The sugar was cold, luke warm if anything. Experience was unusually and unnecessarily painful. Also the receptionist at the front desk was very rude and seemed almost bothered that I showed up to my appointments. She checked me in and out of my appointment without even looking up or acknowledging me. I've been getting brazilians for a while on and off not really consistent lol but Sugar & Glow is always my go to! I go to the Downey location and Anaheim depending on the day but Anaheim is my favorite location!! Super clean rooms, great vibes overall, very cozy welcoming atmosphere! The front desk girl was super nice and friendly today, (i didn't catch her name). I was honestly really nervous because I haven't got sugared in a couple of months and I knewwww what i was getting myself into lol but Kaydee did an AMAZING JOB!! I know who's going to be my go to sugarist now! Kaydee was so nice and accommodating, a very genuine person. She made sure I was comfortable and walked me through everything. Made a last-minute appointment and was able to get something after work. PARKING - a little limited, but you'll be able to find something. There is street parking and a parking structure across the street. No biggy FRONT SERVICE - Walked in and it was quiet. Checked in with the lady at the front and she offered me wine or water. Very nice. SERVICE - Mia helped me out feeling fresh coming out of the place. She's very friendly, makes conversation to not have it be awkward being our first time together and her being down there, seeing my business. It's always my initial thought when I see a new person for a wax. Fairly happy with her wax service. I did see a few stragglers, but I think it may be because they were under a thick layer of skin. I'm used to my other person getting a needle and really digging in there to get the in-growns out, no matter how deep. It was painful. I really wanted to like this place because it's walking distance from my house and I prefer sugar over waxing any day. But the customer service with the front desk is just absolutely awful. I called around 2:40pm yesterday seeing if they had availability and they told me they had an appointment at 3:15pm available which was perfect. Again, I'm walking distance away...they proceeded to ask for a card to have on file and I asked if I could do that once I walk in cause I'm so close to the appointment and live across the street, they told me that they couldn't hold the appointment then. Which was whatever, it wasn't a big deal to me since I was just gonna go across the street over there. I just wanted to clean myself up a little before doing a Brazilian (rinse off in the shower) and eyebrows, didn't really have the time to go get my wallet and read them off my card with the appointment so close. Once I got in to the establishment around 3:10, I realized I received a cancelled appointment email and then the receptionist struggled to send me their consent form for like 10mins. (Don't understand how they're so pressed about time but could waste my time like this). Anyway, the receptionist (didn't bother to learn her name) insisted I'd receive the consent form by email when I received it by text and then proceeded to ask me to have a card on file. Which was skeptical of doing cause places like this charge you for the dumbest reasons. Upon my service, Katie was really dope and super knowledgeable, talked me through the sugaring process and I had a really nice talk with her the entire time (the only reason this place isn't getting one star). I was pleased with the outcome of the service and generously tipped 20% cause Katie was great. The issue is, today I checked my bank account and noticed another charge from them, so I called them up and they told me it's because I missed my 11:15am appointment. So I told that receptionist (Tanya) that I clearly had that service (Brazilian) done yesterday so I don't know why I'm being charged a cancellation fee for an appointment I did not even make (the dumb receptionist from yesterday must've booked it while struggling to send me the consent form -- my guess). Anyway she tried to tell me she was going to reach out to management but wanted to give me their info to reach out myself as well (why would I have to reach out and waste my time for their fuck up? Just make it right)... about 20 mins later I get a call back stating they cancelled the charge and sent me an email reflecting that but it takes 5-10 business days for it to clear. Idrc about that because I'm not pressed about $27.50 being withheld from my account but it just seems like an unprofessional way to run a business. Maybe they should also check to make sure the client didn't just have that procedure done before charging a no-show fee as well. Seems like a lot of wasted time and effort for everyone especially since this place is so strict about punctuality and they're over here wasting my damn time and energy. I'm gonna have to think about if coming back here is worth it cause it doesn't seem convenient at all anymore. The ambience of this place is really cute though and seems extremely hygienic, management just needs to hire better receptionist staff so this place is as sweet as sugar. read more

Woah! For being a new sugarist Donna is amazing! Based on a small convo she's been doing this for about two weeks yet she has a gentle hand and she's very thorough! After reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit skeptical but decided to take a chance and booked the new sugarist special. My appointment was at 7 pm but they were able to take me in a few minutes before which was great. There was plenty of 90 min parking on the street. I really enjoyed that we shared a few laughs here and there but overall I enjoyed not having to have full conversation, but that's just my preference. I've had plenty of sugaring Brazilians before at other places and this was one of the fastest and least painful ones I've had. Easy location to find. Before coming here, I used to always get hard waxed but a friend recommended I try sugaring so I gave it a shot! I have never done this before and was getting a Brazilian which was super nerve wracking. Going in the place is super clean and there's a bathroom too. My sugarist was Sam and she was very informative about the benefits of sugaring and eased my worries by talking me through the whole thing! One thing that really made my experience was Sam because she went at a pace I was most comfortable with and always asked if I needed a break! I was really hoping to make this place my new waxing spot but unfortunately they only care about money than the clients. Ik they have a 10min grace but many other reviews say the scheduling staff is not very understanding. I had an emergency and still wanted to make it to my appt. I asked if they could give me a 20min grace instead but whoever on the phone just said no. Said they would have to mark me as a no-show and charge me 50% as a cancellation fee. Whatever. I paid the fee then they proceeded to ask if i wanted to reschedule for an hour later or another day lol--likeee seriously?? Absolutely terrible customer service. Yes I do understand that they have a grace period of 10 minutes yet when there's no parking what do you expect someone to do? My mom walked in not even one minute before 10 minutes and they still refused her and set her as a no show.
