Loved this cafe/ lounge on highland avenue. Very relaxed and calming environment. Happy it's a couple minutes drive for me to get to, great for people working from home or if you need a spot for business meeting or just to catch up. They have some beautiful abstract paintings, and I like the layout very spacious and various places to sit, whether on a bar stool or one of their comfy chairs. Happy to see there's some outdoor seating as well. They have a nice range of drinks, I tried their Margaux Champagne cocktail and tasted very good :) and bubbly. Came for some drinks at the bar and had a great time! Super cute decor and great atmosphere. Seems like a great place to grab coffee and lunch too! There is plenty of tables so you could get your coffee and stick around a while to get work done. I came for drinks and they were delicious! Lots of options for cocktails. My drink even came with a flower in it! We sat at the bar but there were many tables too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they recommended great drinks for us. This was a very interesting spot because it's basically a coffee shop and cocktail bar rolled into one. During the day I'm assuming it's more of go to for getting a caffeine fix, and then by a certain time in the evening they switch to serving cocktails. They do offer small bites and yummy desserts I believe, but we just stuck to cocktails. I will say, the cocktails aren't cheap, but they're not outlandishly overpriced either either. The overall atmosphere was pretty relaxed and people coming in varied from casual to a little more dressy. I'd describe the ambiance as feminine-modern/chic, so it's very current. MY girlfriend wanted to go to a quiet cafe nearby to get some work done, so I gave her a few options and she choose Margaux! What really stuck out to her was the interior design of the cafe and how vibey it felt. Margaux has a lot of tables and bar area where you can sit and chat with friends, or come and get some work done. They are still requiring you to order at the counter with a mask on, so take that into consideration when you come. She got a iced caramel latte, which at first wasn't sweet enough for her. When she asked the waitress this, she came back with some extra Carmel syrup and some simple syrup in order to make it sweet! This came at no extra charge, and the waitress was super friendly about it as well! She thoroughly enjoyed her latte after adding enough of the syrups to it, and it was just to her liking. I ordered the cappuccino, which came with some beautiful latte art and an awesome Margaux cup! The cappuccino tasted amazing, and I was craving one as I haven't had one in so long! This cafe is awesome! There are plenty of outlets in the bar area as well to ensure that all of your devices are charged. There were also a bunch of people in there around noon, but because the space is so big it was relatively quiet. They play some soft music in the background, which was a nice touch! A friend and I spontaneously decided to go here and we were both pleasantly surprised. First off the staff was super friendly and attentive! Also decor and lighting are wonderful. It's definitely a more intimate vibe and would be great for a date or just hanging out with one or two friends. Superb dining experience with a girlfriend tonight. Parked on the street right in front -- free after 5pm on this Tuesday evening. Seated ourselves at a hightop with other options of sofa and chairs, table, or bar. As we looked around trying to acclimate ourselves and figure out whether to go up to order or if there was table service, staff greeted us warmly and let us know they would bring us water and menus and be by often to take orders and tend to us (and they did). Menu options were plenty with small plates. We both ordered crab cakes. They came three to a plate with dipping sauce and an orchid. Very tasty, light, and filling. I ordered the pearl couscous salad and it was plenty to share between us. It was listed on the menu as vegan and had chickpeas, tomatoes, and onion in it. Wonderful, refreshing. We each ordered cocktails and both loved what we ordered, hers a citrus blend, mine pears and champagne. Then for dessert there were three choices and all sounded delectable. I opted for a chocolate and pear concoction, her a pecan and maple syrup sponge cake. We both agreed my chocolate and pear torte was the better of the two, but both were pretty divine. Holy f***! Omg. They are using Little Wolf espresso now, and it is SHOCKING how well the fruit profile holds up to milk. Raspberries and strawberries shining thru an 8 oz. whole milk cappuccino. Absolutely fabulous! It also incredibly helps that the baristas know precisely how to calibrate their grind and how to steam their milk to the perfect temperature. I cannot recommend Margaux enough. First and foremost, the food/coffee speaks for itself. Our servers were incredible and very accommodating to our group having separate checks. Came here on a Friday night and there was a nice crowd! It's a bit loud but you can still have a conversation. Still we were able to get a good table for all five of us. I like the vibes in here. It's bright and airy during the day and then it gets dim at night. We tried getting coffee here once late in the afternoon but they said they were closed so definitely come earlier if you're looking to get coffee and breakfast! At night, they have cocktails, wine, beer, dessert, and small bites. The desserts here are made by Harrison's Fine Pastries I believe and they make really good desserts. The cocktails here are pretty delicious! We tried the espresso martini, champagne cocktail, and the Royal Cup. We loved the espresso martini since they use real espresso. Not a lot of places do that, they'll usually use coffee liqueur. It had a nice floral flavor since they use vanilla and amaro too. Might've been one of the best ones I've had! I didn't love the champagne cocktail, it's sparkling rose with bitters and a Demerara sugar cube. It just tasted like sparkling rose in all honesty. Nothing special, I think I'd rather have had a glass of wine. My partner and friend loved their Royal Cup but it was too sour for me. It's got a real peachy flavor too it too that I didn't love. Our other friend really liked the French 75 cocktail on the menu. The mocktail here is also very good and refreshing! Definitely liked it a lot. My partner thought the drinks were a little too decadent. Would recommend this spot for a nice quality drink and chill place to hang out after dinner. I think I like coming here to work during the day more than the evening. My first trip here was having evening cocktails with a friend. Nothing to complain about except maybe the prices. First time in here and I was so pleasantly surprised! First issue could have been parking but they have a ton of street parking on every side of them. The decor is super cute, I would never had expected something so modern in Pittsburgh. Floor to ceiling glass windows, love the look but the sun is harsh inside at certain times of day. Almost need to wear sunglasses. They have a bunch of couches, a full bar, and then some high top/small 2 top tables to choose from. You order at the counter and take a number to your seat. I got the latte with oatmilk and honey lavender syrup added. This was probably the best coffee you can get in Pittsburgh. Adding syrups usually make coffee taste fake or far too sweet, but this was seriously perfect. Came out at exactly the right temperature to drink right away. I also got a breakfast sandwich which was VERY good! It had this pepper jelly on it which was to die for and everything was balanced nicely. The arugula, pepper jelly, egg that burst when you eat it, the biscuit was focaccia I think! So good! Wish this place was closer or I'd go more often! read more

Man, I'd feel like such a cool person if I came here just to study. My friends and I ended up coming here for brunch. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and my friends got the mushroom toast. My breakfast sandwich was so good, y'all. The egg popped and was perfectly yolky, and the herb biscuit is something I still think about. I just think $8 was a bit pricey for the size of the sandwich. The toast was also $8, and though it was definitely larger than we thought it would be, we found that it was also a bit high for what we got. I got the muffin of the day, which was chocolate chip coconut. It was honestly a little dry. It tasted like something I could probably make at home, but I liked the combination of chocolate + coconut. They didn't fill my chai latte to the top, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Loving this new hangout spot in East Liberty! Perfect for a full day of events and variety of wants. From a coffee shop with a lot of seating and natural lighting to a bar with mood lighting and different cocktail options, there's something for everyone! Coffeeshop: I can't emphasize anymore about the natural lighting because of the floor to ceiling windows! Solid coffee options, as well. Whether you're there to study or work from home, there are different seating options to choose from. There aren't that many outlets, however, so make sure to check wherever you decide to sit. I would also suggest staying away from the high tops/islands to work/study from because of the lack of leg room, making it uncomfortable to work on. They transition around 4pm, by turning down the lights and turning up the music. Bar: They constantly update their cocktail menu so you have more variety and options to choose from. I got the ROLLER GIRL and it was so delicious! I tend to enjoy drinks that are on the sweeter and lighter side so this was perfect for me. They also have options for small snacks and desserts. Service: Friendly service! Very helpful on giving suggestions on drinks. The only time I experienced subpar service was when I went with a bigger group (6 of us). The server seemed new as she appeared nervous and not very friendly, and seemed disorganized when taking our orders because she forgot to take my order. But otherwise, whenever I'm there with one other person, service is great! Interior: So many different seating options for whatever you're there for! What a fantastic addition to the Pitt social/study scene. This is the perfect spot the study during the day or for for drinks at night. (Or stay all day for both??) The decor, natural light, and copious outlets makes this one of my favorite places to work. The staff and so friendly and helpful as well- their recommendations have helped me find some of my new favorite drinks. I think this would be a 5 star stop for me if the music wasn't so loud. This place is so beautiful! It makes you want to stay longer. We came for breakfast on the weekend, and there were plenty of seats available. I was promptly greeted by the hostess when I walked in. My cappuccino and almond croissant were really yummy. I was pleasantly surprised that my croissant not only had almonds on top, but also had an almond filling. I also ordered their blackberry cheesecake, but it was a bit underwhelming. I found out cheesecake mousse does not taste like cheesecake at all. For $13, I was expecting something more. There are plenty if outlets and seating. This makes it perfect for office hours and being productive or spending time with friends. They have lots of plants, a feature that I love!
