This spot is definitely niche. I love checking out new spots and this just happened to be on my route and open so we stopped. I opted to try their house-made rosemary and vanilla syrups in a latte. The rosemary was so overpowering, I couldn't finish my drink unfortunately. I was hoping it would be more subtle, especially pairing it with the vanilla but it was just too strong for me. The employee was short with their descriptions but patient as I was deciding what to order. They made the drink very quickly and we took it to go but there seemed to be a decent amount of seating in the back and outside. I probably wouldn't try again - it missed the mark for my personal vibe. read more

The ambiance is really the draw, with a lovely outdoor patio area and a warm and decorated indoor area, perfect to chat or do work in. We visited this coffee shop while staying in Pittsburgh for a Steelers game. We loved all of the decor that was inside and outside. It was tucked into a cute little neighborhood on the corner. Everyone was very friendly and kind. The coffee and snacks were incredible! They also had coffee beans and little trinkets for purchase. This is such a cute little thrift store/café. The building is on a corner in Regent Square and is so eclectic looking inside and out. There are random items all about. The menu is on the wall behind the counter made of what looks like Scrabble pieces. I ordered the szegedi kave which was two shots espresso, some steamed milk and lots of cinnamon and a cherry danish. It was an interesting, cozy little place. read more

Biddle's Escape is such a hidden gem. I appreciate how it's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and has a beautiful outdoor space for people to do work in. They even have outlets next to the outdoor tables, which is insanely convenient and something not even indoor cafes always have. There's ample street side parking around the cafe. It's decor is quirky and you can't really find another place like this in Pittsburgh. I enjoy looking through the shop and seeing the interesting pieces they sell. The prices are also very cheap, comparable to a cafe version of Goodwill. Service is fast and there's always not too many people so spots are easy to find. I like their wide variety of tea options, but wished there were more interesting coffee choices as well. Overall, a nice place to study and get away from campus/the city. read more

Visited twice late October during my fall trip to Pittbsburgh and visiting this shop was one of my favorite moments. This quintessenial local coffee local cofee shop located in a beatiful neighborhood where you can enjoy the fall foliage and delicioius chai latte. This coffee shop had all of the core requirements desired of a cozy coffee shop vibes and more. Atmosphere: unique, spacious but cozy, a very cool patio space,  cool randmo things for sale aside from the food, bakery items, and limited food options. Drinks: Both times I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and cinnamon. Delicious and perfectly sweet. For lattes, they had SO many syrup options including a few madfe in house as well as some sugar free option. They also have all the common main milk alternatives. Baked goods: I ordered the brownie and it was good as well! A nice size two that can be split or saved for later. Seems to be popular spot in the neighborhood too but it never felt "crowded". Updating my review because their chai mix is back to the one I originally liked years ago! Still love biddles and all the fun local things they sell. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. They have food trucks that come every Wednesday evening out front and they also offer a limited food menu with snacks. Brought a book to read here after church and what a vibe! Another little place I've probably driven by countless times without knowing it existed! And even better that we ran into friends while here. Stumbled upon this place on my way home. It looked pretty cool on the outside, I liked the style. Came inside and it was really cluttered and dusty. Went to order and the barista seemed annoyed with my existence. I ordered an ugly duckling (one of their specials) and 2 grilled cheeses. The drink was good and the grilled cheese was ok. Grilled cheese came with chips and mine had a hole in the chip bag, so they were stale. Pretty expensive for what you get. Don't think I will be back. read more

Love this cozy and comfy coffee shop near Frick Park. The outdoor seating is covered and really has the best vibe for relaxing. Even if it's raining you can enjoy the comfort of being protected from the elements while still enjoying the atmosphere created by Biddle's. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffees. Every Sunday we like to try a new coffee place and on this day it our choice was Biddles Escape. Whenever I arrived at 10:30 this place was jam packed with people! Like it was hard to get inside the door and then the line snaked around a bit with about 10 people in front of me. The inside of this place is quaint and homey with a brick wall with some stain glass windows, some seating and then a bunch of antiquey looking stuff. There was a counter to order your coffee from and a fairly small display case filled with pastries. They also had a number of outdoor tables on the street and then a covered outdoor area on Biddle Ave. Both the coffee and tea menus were extensive here and I could see why their were a ton of people. For our coffees on this morning my wife decided to go iced and so had a iced Nutella latte while I decided to go with a hot coconut lavender latte. Both of those flavors were with their house made syrups and I loved that they had a list telling you which were theirs versus Torani or Ghirardelli. Lavender and coconut aren't necessary two flavors I have ever seen paired together, but I do love them both and it definitely worked here. The lavender was the more forward of the flavors with the coconut taking a backseat, but you could taste it on the finish. You could also taste the rich coffee and the whole milk too which made for a nice drink. My wife thought her latte was very good and nicely balanced between the coffee, syrup and whole milk. The bottom line for me is that I would definitely head here again in the future. Our wait of 20 minutes was a bit longer than I would have liked, but I loved that they make their own syrups and both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees. read more

The space was delightful for meeting up with a new friend, and it's clearly a favorite spot for working as many table occupants wielded a laptop and caffeination. I loved biddles, came here almost every weekend over summer. Their smoothies were out of this world, the banana milk smoothie is probably the best ive ever had. Giving 4/5 because i came in and they told me they only have smoothies for summer, i feel like they should be a year round feature. Wont be coming back until the smoothies are back in summer. Biddle's is definitely a unique, quirky coffee shop. It's a popular spot with distinct style and welcoming vibes. Over the past few years, I've been stopping in occasionally to get work done. I typically get an iced tea (very good) or an iced coffee (average), or a breakfast burrito (yummy). Workers are pretty friendly and chill. There's indoor and outdoor seating available, both of which can get full on a busy day. However, the chairs are very uncomfortable. They're all mismatched at different heights, and the old wooden seats leave my back and legs sore after sitting for awhile. Also, the various decor borders on cluttered, which starts to feel overwhelming after awhile. There's many trinkets and glassware for sale that have been sitting around for years that seem to just take up space. And I heard the owner was an awful person, but is it under new ownership? Overall, it's one of the more unique coffee shops in Pittsburgh. read more

Wife and i were In Pittsburg looking for a house to buy. We were down the block from Biddles Escape at an open house. Biddies Escape seems to be a cool little local coffee house with lots of locals. I had a hot green tea with honey which was delicious. Unfortunately I did not order anything exotic, But if get the house down the block that will be my new go to place for coffee and tea. It was love at first visit! My experience here has been amazing - I am writing this review in the coziness of the shop. This place radiates good energy, kindness, and community. I got a Biscoff Cookie Butter Latte and a Mushroom Roux Panini. They also have Louisiana hot sauce at the condiment station that I added to my panini for an extra kick that matched the creaminess. The decor in here is absolutely gorgeous and they do have a quite a few vintage pieces for sale. Also a great place if you want to come in to get some work done and/or come with a friend for a cup of tea and conversation. Overall, on a cold winter day like today - this was the place to cozy up and get a great cup of coffee. Highly recommend! read more

This place is at a great location! Walking distance from my friends condo. I absolutely love their iced mochas. It's really my favorite item on the menu. I've been here 3 times. This shop is beautiful. I come here sometimes when I want a fun place to drink coffee and chill. They have a wide selection of beverages and some food options. To augment the food there are sometimes food trucks that will be outside the shop. The list of the food trucks by month are posted in the window. All of then look very good. Biddle's also offers a lovely outside patio for when the weather is nice, or when you just need a bit of the outdoors. It is pretty large and the patrons love it out there, so sometimes seating could be hard to come by. Biddle's also sells coffees and teas for purchase. You can try out a cup and go home with your favorite blend. I am looking forward to trying some of their different syrups or drinks I've never heard of. I like the vibe of this place. A favorite cafe to go to on a beautiful day! It's located in a neighborhood with a delicious French bakery (Madeleine Bakery) a block down. With outdoor and indoor seating areas, there are many options to choose from. The outdoor section even has an area with a covering. I love that there are outlets everywhere, even outside so you won't have to worry about a long study session with low battery. One note about the outdoor seating, however, is the trees nearby have a lot of pollen so beware! The coffee is good! I got the AMERICANO and it came with 4 shots of espresso. My only complaint is the use of single-use plastic cups. I'm sure the cafe has reusable mugs but I'm guessing you would need to explicitly ask for them. The staff is also super friendly. Since it's located in a neighborhood, it's pretty quiet except for the sounds from the cafe and birds chirping outside. There's also free parking! They also occasionally have food trucks, but it might be a seasonal thing so look for more information from Biddle's themselves. read more

A former coworker suggested that I checked out this small cafe a while ago and I finally was able to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised with the unique and charming interior. The windows are adorned with beautiful mosaics form a local artist. The overall ambiance is warm and cozy. They have a huge menu with many teas and coffee options. This coffee shop is pretty small with only a few tables. I went on a Sunday and it was very busy. The way the ordering counter and door are set up it gets bottle necked at the door if there are more than a few people in line. Since it was crowded there were no available seats. Staff was friendly but seemed overwhelmed by the influx of people. I ordered a large coffee and my sister ordered a large latte. We were both highly disappointed! When ever I go to a coffee shop I except the coffee to be satisfactory. My coffee was terrible; completely watered down. I couldn't even finish it and I'm use to drinking gas station coffee when I'm late to work. My sisters latte had no foam and tasted very similar to my sad coffee. I debated giving the Biddle Escape two or three stars because I really wanted to like this cafe. It was adorable and cool but if you are going to advertise as a coffee shop you have to be able to deliver on just that coffee, which it did not. read more

There is a very pleasant fenced in deck where locals seem to meet and gather and have very lovely community vibes. A cute and quaint scene, full of cluttered paintings, pottery, and color. They have a chess/checkers set free for the public to use, which I think is awesome, and they have a great outdoor patio. Located in a quiet area around regent square, they have a wide selection of teas, and offer coffee drinks. My partner and I have been disappointed multiple of times with lattes we got from them, them being quite burnt. I was also not the most satisfied with their breakfast burrito, a little bland in flavor, and with no meat, unadvertised as vegetarian. I know there have been some issues with the owner in the past; I've heard reports from previous employees that the owner would sell Costco muffins at 3x the price, which I don't find surprising. Skip the espresso, they have fine cold brew and drip. Good tea and good atmosphere. read more

Really cute little coffee shop kind of hidden off the main road in Edgewood. It's painted bright green and purple so when you drive by it, you know it's there. During covid they are only operating with their pick up window, but you can still sit outside on their patio. I definitely recommend their lavender coconut latte. I've never had anything like it. Not a ton to choose from regarding food but they have croissants, muffins, etc that are pretty cheap. The atmosphere is awesome and dogs are allowed on the patio if they are on a leash.
