Meh, at best! Ordered a large meatball sub as I have read that they are great. will say that the quality of the meatballs were good to very good, however the construction of the sub was horrible. I wanted and expected provolone on top and then to have the entire sub placed into the oven to crisp the edges of the bread and melt the cheese. What I got was some cheese inside the sub that was drowned in a mediocre sauce. The sub was overall slop. We ate the meatballs but the sub roll was disposal worthy at best. I will say and if you rate food on size then Marc's is a winner, but if you want quality look elsewhere. read more

Probably my last take out meal before I head out to the warmth and sun of the desert... (it was below freezing here this morning) . Anyway I was treated to a "small" sub from this place for dinner. The large is a full 24 inches . I was given a "Roman" this place take on an Italian sub. Pretty darn good choice of Italian cold cuts and cheese. Yummy "hots", but the best part was the roll! Dense and chewy so much different than out in the S.west. To me, it made the sandwich. Another diner had a turkey sub which looked equally yummy. The third meal item was a large cheese pizza. I guess it was OK, but other than the crust, it looked unremarkable and a little bit oily but the folks who had pizza enjoyed it. I was really hoping for a cheesesteak, but apparently they are very popular and they ran out of meat earlier which is not uncommon. Well maybe next time for that. Pretty good meal at a fair price... Marc's is an overall hidden gem! We have ordered lunch from them multiple times and have not been disappointed once. Their pizzas are large and have amazing flavor. Overall our favorite is the subs. You can order a large sub and easily get away with sharing between two or three individuals. Every time we have gone to pick up the owner has been extremely personable and very appreciative of our service. Originally from the Boston 'burbs, now living in Palm Springs, CA. In Bedford, NH visiting my sister. Wanted a "real good" Italian sub. The type I was used to in the bedroom communities of Boston! Well today I happened upon Marc's Pizza and Subs - Home of The Roman! The "small" was longer than 10"! And PACKED with all the meats and cheese I was expecting! Mortadella, Hot Capicola, Genoa Salami, etc and Provolone cheese. I think I was dealing directly with "Marc" himself at the counter. Wonderful, very proud of the Roman he prepared for me. For those brave enough to tackle a 22" sub, made with the finest ingredients imaginable Marc's is your final destination. Just a couple hundred yards over the Nashua line into Merrimack it is literally worth the drive from downtown Nashua. The bread is remarkably fresh and tasty enough to stand out on its own and the filling is packed in solidly enough that the sub is actually heavy to carry. The owner builds each order with care and pride and has a persona that makes you feel as if you have known him for years. I recommend 'The Roman' which is tbe grandiose equivalent of an Italian sub and I double dog dare you to eat a whole one in a single sitting. Sandwiches are overrated. Although sandwiches are large, that does not equate to good. I ordered a small toasted meatball sandwich. When I got home five minutes after the sandwich was made, my first bite, the meatball was cold, like just out of the refrigerator cold. I gave the place a second chance and ordered a small steak & cheese. The steak was so fatty that the bread was soaking wet with grease. Only one size pizza, large and I would rate the pizza as mediocre. Take-out only. The hours are not exactly convenient, they close at 6pm and are reluctant to take phone orders, or answer the phone after 5:30 pm. Days of operation are intermittent. If it's too hot, they close. If it is too cold they close. No heat. No AC. Just another hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop. There are too many other options for submarine sandwiches and pizza in the area that are far superior. I was very excited to try Marc's based on the reviews, and their website noting real Italian pizzza. I have grown very weary of Greek style pizza, and have been seeking out a more Italian style. I was hoping Marc's was the place for it, but alas, it did not meet the requirements for me. The crust was decent, lots of bubbles. We ordered a large pepperoni, and on that pizza, the pepperoni was crispy, which I also love. The problem, with our mixed half pepperoni, half mushroom pizza in particular, there was entirely too much cheese, and not enough sauce. The mushrooms also would have been better sauteed a bit longer, They were cooked, but not enough for my family and I. The pizza is closer to a Greek style than an Italian, so if you prefer Greek, then give it a try. The service overall was good, the staff very friendly, and efficient. read more

I had leftover pizza at my friend's house and it was great! I decided to go in myself, and I tried a calzone after hearing rave reviews and was not disappointed! The meal was delicious and I was not given any trouble for asking for modifications. Unfortunately I don't eat pizza often but this place is hard to beat! I also heard the subs are enormous and fantastic, and will definitely have to try them. One thing I want to point out is just how kind the owners were. I had a friendly conversation with them while waiting for my food, and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. Not only is supporting small businesses great, it's even better when the owners rock! We got a couple of large pizzas and some onion rings from Marc's last night. I got a cheese pizza It was decent. I also got a half cheese half bacon, onion, mushroom. I'm *very* picky when it comes to pizza, as I'm Italian, and used to a good Neapolitan pizza. Well, I'm not really understanding everyone saying that this is "real deal" Italian pizza. It is not. Merrimack, clearly you do NOT know what Italian pizza is- if you think this is authentic. NYC has some of the best pizza. The North End as well. All of my old world family has passed, and I surely miss their pies as well. That's my jam. Authentic. Marc's pizzas are more like a Greek-style pizza and Sal's- style "Italian" Pizza (which I don't care for, but that's a whole other story) got together and had a baby. It's a hybrid for sure. You can't call it straight Italian style. It's over-cheesed- WAAAY over-cheesed. That is one of the main things that drives it away from being more authentic. That's what turned me off a bit. I didn't mind the crust, the bubbles are the best part, and the more well-done parts of the crust- YUM. So, that part was good. Solid crust. Although, you could pull it a bit thinner and sauce it a bit more. I feel like the sauce is a little too tart and herby... It is not quite as balanced and as simple as a sauced Neapolitan style pizza is. The half of the other large pizza that we got with the three toppings- was WAY over- topped. I never thought I would say that! WAY too much. It lent a lot of liquid to the crust- which isn't my fave. This also reminds me of a Greek-style pizza. I understand everyone has their own style. I get it. It is good pizza, just not good *Italian style* pizza. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. Less is more! I expected something a lot different, though. read more

Was recommended by a friend. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I can't give them a passing grade. Crust and sauce were fine, but then we get to the cheese. My first clue should have been when they handed me the box and it felt like a 10 pound weight was in there. There was so much cheese that you could not even eat a slice without a knife and fork. Now, I know some people like extra cheese, but I did not order that. It was really overwhelming, and nowhere near proportional(especially for NY style thin crust pizza). Then, factor in that the cheese was very rubbery in nature. I don't know the quality or blend of cheese they are using, but I know it is not supposed to taste and feel like a giant wad of rubber. It just was not good. Change up the cheese blend and put a lot less of it and maybe could be decent. read more
