PSA: If you ever feel the need to try the breakfast here, avoid the corned beef hash. It tastes like dry, flavorless cat food. No wonder they sell it so cheap. Now, Friendly's and I go WAY back. Like, back in the day when a family could enjoy a full course meal there and it was right on par with Applebee's in the 90s (crikey, I'm old). These days, however, most people only think of them as that one brand of ice cream you see in grocery stores. Or maybe you even felt froggy enough to order delivery from them because you were craving a Reese's Sundae like I was a few summers ago. And yes - they absolutely will deliver ice cream to your door. Honestly though, that might be the best thing they've got going for themselves, food wise. The main menu items here are....mid, at best. Feeling brave and adventurous, I decided I'd give their breakfast a try (especially considering no one's taken any breakfast photos until this review). I've had it as a kid. But since that was literal decades ago, I barely remember the experience. Though, I'm *pretty* sure the food was mostly edible back then. Today, I got an omelet (my way) with basic homefries, corned beef hash, and a bagel. Since I already described how retched the hash was, I'll move onto the rest of the ensemble. Omelet: this was arguably the most edible part of this complete breakfast. The diced veggies were fine, the cheese was fine, and the fresh eggs (which you have to request, btw) were...fine. That's about all I can say about this omelet; it was fine. Apart from the eggs tasting inexplicably "flat", I'd wager this one's a 6 out of 10. The bagel tasted like stale cardboard with cream cheese. At least they use the Philadelphia brand though so....yay? I could only stomach about two bites before giving up and tossing that travesty in the trash. Even the greatest brand of cream cheese on earth couldn't save this joke of a bagel. 1 out of 10, would NOT recommend. The homefries were the only other item I could actually finish. They're unseasoned though (of course), so be cognizant that you'll either want salt or ketchup with these, if that's your thing. 5 out of 10. Oh yeah...did you know this Friendly's has a drive thru? Pretty weird, considering this is a casual dine-in restaurant, but whatevs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Based on this rather perplexing and frustrating experience, I feel I'd be better off sticking with something simpler like the Lumberjack Breakfast the next time around. I figure, there's no way they could royally f#$! up bacon to the point of blandness, right? RIGHT?! Fingers crossed on that one. Initial re-impressions of their breakfast left me with flavors reminiscent of school cafeteria food. Should the next go around prove to be more pleasant, I'll gladly update this review. For now, I'd give Friendly's take-away 2 mighty fine make-your-own omelets out of 5. read more

My family and I were very excited to eat at Friendly's for the first time, but it was not what we had hoped it to be. It smelled really bad in the restaurant when I walked in and when I was eating there with my family. It genuinely smelled like septic, and I could tell my wife and kids were not please with the smell either. Took my grandmother to Friendlys today and had a pleasant visit. Our server Bridgette was great and she made sure everything was satisfactory and made sure we had everything we needed. The mozzarella bites app was pretty good and came out super fast. My grandmother enjoyed her All American burger and the fries were excellent. I enjoyed the cobb salad and let bridgette choose how the chicken was as cooked and asked for extra dressing. My salad was big and the chicken came fried and was pretty damn good!! After me and grams split an ice cream that came with my Cobb salad. I let Bridgette choose the ice cream/toppings and she did an excellent job and chose peanut butter cup ice cream. The food was good, the restaurant was clean looking and the service was excellent. Thanks a bunch to bridgette and the chef. This visit was double the cost of my last visit to Friendlys a few months ago. The specials seem to change frequently. read more

Super slow service even though there's usually only one or two other customers in there during peak dinner hours. Tonight we waited at least 15 minutes after being seated before a waitress even came over, and then still brought the wrong order out despite coming back a second time to double check what we ordered. At one point my friend asked for salsa to go with his quesadilla and she said they had to go down to the basement and get it out of storage. Like what?? Why would you not just have it on hand to bring out when people order the food it's supposed to go with? When my order finally came out and I finished eating, the waitress even made a comment on how fast I had finished my food. Well, maybe if the service was more efficient I wouldn't have had to wolf down my fries and sandwich to get to where I was going on time. read more

I've been here recently for both breakfast and lunch...I would say breakfast is more their strong suit. It was a rainy Sunday and surprisingly it doesn't seem to be busy here at all for Sunday brunch. I had their steel cut oats with fruit and it was delicious. We also got a meat lovers omelette and home fries and that was also great. Don't come expecting something fancy or over the top but if you're looking for something reasonably priced, this is a good go to. We also had lunch here another time and their cobb salad was just okay. Not super fresh and nothing I'd come back for, I'd probably stick to brunch here or sandwiches. read more

Not only was a waitress swearing up a storm in the bathroom she was telling co workers she was gonna kill them.. in a joking manner clearly but still right on the floor with a family with young children could hear her as well... one of the women in the ice cream part ( the manager) is scooping pb sauce out of the container WITH NO GLOVES and touching bare cones without gloves.. they screwed up mine and my husbands order twice.. and the food was gross I'll never crave friendlys again.. terrible food TERRIBLE SERVICE our waitress was nice but she was the only decent one read more

Friendly's used to be the "go to" restaurant when I was a kid in RI. I was totally psyched to see one open in NH. I recall with delight getting a Fribble or Fish-a-majig, with a "happy ending" dessert if I was good. My wife and I have been twice, and as others have said, the staff still seems to be a bit disorganized, although everyone we met was positive and trying their best. Other than ice cream, their food seems adequate at best. Burgers are pre-cooked, fried foods are warmed under heat lamps, and salads are a bit "weathered". The meet low expectations, but are not outstanding in any way. Go for a quick meal, and splurge on dessert. read more

I've just endured the worst hamburger I have ever had the displeasure of eating. The burger was a pale, flaccid, gray, over-cooked, chewy horror show I almost immediately upchucked upon swallowing. The "cowboy burger" I purchased came with no bacon, despite being advertised as having such, and it had but one paltry onion ring with a pathetic little dollop of what I'm guessing is supposed to be BBQ sauce. The fries were lukewarm and tasted like holdovers from the night before. To add insult to injury, the whole order took far too long to fulfill, the staff were clueless, and this was the third time I had tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Never again. I recommend the drive thru if you want to order off the $5.55 menu or have coupons. (Only certain things off the cheap menu, do not get the disgusting burger!) Otherwise, everything is overpriced and low quality. The fries are gross. There seems to be no consistency in how things are bagged, but sandwiches get soggy when they use the plastic containers. Service varies by day. I have only dined in once for breakfast and it was disappointing. I frequent locations in Mass sometimes and they are similar to Merrimack - bad food, terrible service. It's just the way Friendly's is now. Just know what you are expecting when you come. If you want a stress free meal, go someplace else. read more

Friendly's of Merrimack opened on February 20 at the NH 101A/Continental Blvd intersection in the former McDonald's. This Friendly's offers full service dining, takeout, and a drive thru window. The full food and ice cream menu is offered inside the restaurant for dine-in and takeout. A simplified/abridged food and ice cream menu is offered in the drive-thru. On weekdays, the breakfast menu offerings including drinks are 50 percent off, which is a great deal I've taken advantage of many times over. The lunch and dinner offerings are mainly sandwich & burger platters, fried seafood platters, salads, soups, and cold drinks. The prices here are pretty reasonable and special meal deals are offered here including $5.55 meals and $9.99 CombOHs (entrée & small sundae). The kids meals are $5.99 (entrée, drink, dessert) and are $1.99 on Mon-Wed after 4PM with adult meal purchase. The updated Friendly's Restaurant with drive thru IMO is sort of similar to being a Steak 'n Shake, New England edition. I stopped here during the week for dinner and the place was mobbed!! There was a quite a wait to be seated in the dining room and the drive thru had a queue half way around the building. The staff inside the restaurant was trying to keep up with the crowds of customers here. I decided to test out the drive thru since I had a BOGO free coupon for a $5.55 Deal (sandwich & fries). I initially ordered a Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich with Fries and a Turkey Supermelt with Fries, total would be $12.10 before discount. However, when I got up to the window to pay, I gave my coupon and was told at the last second that they could not discount the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich since it was a special item (WTF?) I quickly told the girl at the window to take the bacon off the sandwich and charge it as a Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Fries instead (already on the $5.55 regular menu), which was done. However, the computer froze and the manager showed up to try to fix my order to accept the coupon. After that, the new total was rung up as $8.11, which I knew was wrong since I did not order a drink (extra charge). It took another 3 minutes to fix that error on the computer and I was finally charged $6.05, the correct discounted amount for two sandwiches and two fries. The food was quickly handed to me and I could hear the staff apologizing for the long waits. It took me about 20 minutes from start to finish (back of drive thru queue to driving off with my food). The sandwiches looked slapped together but tasted just fine and the fries was golden and soft inside. Overall, this Friendly's is still working out the kinks despite the busy crowds coming to this location. In the coming days and weeks, this Friendly's is offering plenty of promotions and giveaways to celebrate their grand opening in Merrimack. I will be sure to return here just to take advantage of their special deals at this location only. read more

Came here with my husband since we just golfed and never had lunch. 5pm dinner at Friendly's it is. Food was good. I haven't really eaten the food here just ice cream and was good. My husband and I split sandwiches. Honey mustard chicken and Rueben both with loaded French fries. We were both satisfied and enjoyed the sandwiches. Great spot and especially at the time we went.
