Now, Friendly's and I go WAY back. Like, back in the day when a family could enjoy a full course meal there and it was right on par with Applebee's in the 90s (crikey, I'm old). These days, however, most people only think of them as that one brand of ice cream you see in grocery stores. Or maybe you even felt froggy enough to order delivery from them because you were craving a Reese's Sundae like I was a few summers ago. And yes - they absolutely will deliver ice cream to your door. Honestly though, that might be the best thing they've got going for themselves, food wise. The main menu items here are....mid, at best. Feeling brave and adventurous, I decided I'd give their breakfast a try (especially considering no one's taken any breakfast photos until this review). I've had it as a kid. But since that was literal decades ago, I barely remember the experience. Though, I'm *pretty* sure the food was mostly edible back then. Today, I got an omelet (my way) with basic homefries, corned beef hash, and a bagel. Since I already described how retched the hash was, I'll move onto the rest of the ensemble. Omelet: this was arguably the most edible part of this complete breakfast. The diced veggies were fine, the cheese was fine, and the fresh eggs (which you have to request, btw) were...fine. That's about all I can say about this omelet; it was fine. Apart from the eggs tasting inexplicably "flat", I'd wager this one's a 6 out of 10. The bagel tasted like stale cardboard with cream cheese. At least they use the Philadelphia brand though so....yay? I could only stomach about two bites before giving up and tossing that travesty in the trash. Even the greatest brand of cream cheese on earth couldn't save this joke of a bagel. 1 out of 10, would NOT recommend. The homefries were the only other item I could actually finish. They're unseasoned though (of course), so be cognizant that you'll either want salt or ketchup with these, if that's your thing. 5 out of 10. Oh yeah...did you know this Friendly's has a drive thru? Pretty weird, considering this is a casual dine-in restaurant, but whatevs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Based on this rather perplexing and frustrating experience, I feel I'd be better off sticking with something simpler like the Lumberjack Breakfast the next time around. I figure, there's no way they could royally f#$! up bacon to the point of blandness, right? RIGHT?! Fingers crossed on that one. Initial re-impressions of their breakfast left me with flavors reminiscent of school cafeteria food. Should the next go around prove to be more pleasant, I'll gladly update this review. For now, I'd give Friendly's take-away 2 mighty fine make-your-own omelets out of 5.

TL;DR: Best God Damn Ice Cream I've Ever Had…read more Ice Cream: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Decor: 5/5 New Hampshirites eat the most ice cream per capita of all fifty states in this great Union, and being born in the Live Free or Die I'm well qualified to say that this is some of the best god damned ice cream I've ever had. Needed my fix of proper New England sweet frozen cream while back in the Olde Country for Christmas. I'd just finished up at the outlet mall just ten minutes away, and after all the boasting to my new wife about how superior NH Ice Cream is to the rest of the plebian horse shite out there, I needed a place to prove my point. Enter Hayward's, a brand I'd never heard of, nestled in a strange stand-alone establishment off a strip mall on Route 3. I sauntered into their sleepy scoop-room (which I should mention has a drive-thru if you're in a rush), and their staff were absolutely enamored--ENAMORED, I tell you--that I chose their creamery as my proof that New Hampshire ice cream is superior to all else. My wife ordered the black rasberry and I ordered my favorite, cookie dough. You can usually judge the mettle of an establishment by either flavor. Black Rasberry is exceptionally difficult to get right--too much rasberry, you have cough syrup. Cookie dough less so, but if you over-sugar your dough then you're dunced and liable to get a cavity to boot. Our girl came right up. We asked for one scoop each and got a veritable pound of ice cream in each cup. Live Free or Die portioning, God Bless New Hampshire! Damn the calories, full speed ahead! We sat at the pleasant, functional bar seating they had and began to devour our cups. The Black Rasberry is the best god damned Black Rasberry I've ever tasted in my life, and I've tasted Black Rasberry from Seattle to Scranton. The Cookie Dough was generously portioned with dough morsels, and an extra helping of chocolate chips for good measure, neither too sweet. I'm from the eastern part of the state and only go there on holiday; Merrimack is forty five friggen minutes away. But you better bet your last lemon drop that I'm trekking my way out to this excellent establishment! Ten out of Fucking Ten will drive 45 minutes for Haywards. Update: I drove 45 mintues out there again. 10/10 staff still enamored. 10/10 Ice Cream still good.

I didn't think that was an option, will do if I decide to go back. Our server was Rebecca, major disappointment. I ordered some pretzel sticks as an appetizer, and my friend and I ordered the chicken quesadilla all at the same time. That was a mistake as I thought we would at least get the appetizer first, nope came with the meal. Took forever to get our food and drinks. I eventually asked for a beer and was given the wrong one. I told her and she offered to go back and check. I told her never mind as at that point it had been 45 MINUTES to get a beer!!! When my friend finished her soda and was asked if she wanted anything else she said water which was then poured into her soda glass. Our waitress was very flighty and took forever for everything. My friend paid her bill. When I was ready to pay she gave me a piece of paper to write down what I ordered. WHAT??????? I'm not sure I'd go back. We went for the band and to help raise the money for charity. The owner was pleasant and seemed to know almost everyone.
