on 8/2/14 I took my 2 year old and wife to this place, because it was recommended by a co-worker. After buying ice cream and having my little one play with the animals we decided to take a few peaches from the tree that almost everybody was taking from. And a guy started to make a scene saying in a really rude way "those are my peaches do not touch them," he walked over to us and took the peaches and claimed that he was the owner. I have never been treated so badly before, I am hispanic and now that I think about it this guy was being racist. I hope this message finds his way and due to this really bad experience I would never recommend this business to anyone. Good luck with your peaches. read more

Moo's Place Homemade Ice Cream

(31 reviews)

Despite geographically being further from my house, I think I like this Moo's location more than…read morethe one in my hometown of Derry. And I'll tell you why: the parking. See, if you're familiar with their Derry location, then you'll understand how annoying their parking situation is. I mean, it's practically non-existent, par from the 5 or 6 tiny little spots inconveniently situated a mere two feet from an otherwise busy street with active traffic. So basically if you park nose-in, have fun trying to back out safely without inexorably causing an unprecedented collision. Suffice to say...that isn't the case here in Salem. I may start coming here from now on if I'm driving from home. Because the ice cream quality is basically the same, 'cept I don't have to dodge cars whilst parking just to acquire the tastiest of ice creams. Oh, and I thought I should mention they DO accept Apple/Google Pay and credit cards now. Or rather....they probably have for some time now. I read an earlier review that mentioned them only accepting cash and that they had an interior ATM on the premises. Never found that ATM though. But it didn't matter. That earlier review was over 7 years old. Yelp really oughta update the amenities section on this place. Anyways, the parking lot is big enough to fit a G6. So, if you want to go to a Moo's that's more accessible via car, come here. At least you won't have to stand in a line of people that damn near trails out into the middle of a busy street. What can I say? Sometimes it really is about the simpler things in life. Moo's in Salem gets 5 regular sized creamy Peanut Butter Cup ice creams out of 5.

Findeisen's has good variety of hard ice cream flavors (over 30 flavors) including sugar free flavors, frozen yogurt and soft serve (chocolate, vanilla, twist). My favorite flavors are the Frozen Pudding, Wild Blueberry, and Strawberry Cheesecake. The ice cream is creamy and refreshing and the prices are reasonable for the quality. The hard ice cream is offered in one to four scoops ($2.75-$4.70 tax included) and in pints & quarts. The soft serve is offered in small, medium, and large ($2.25-$3.45 tax included) and in pints & quarts. They also serve Richie's Slushes, sundaes, banana splits, The Whirl (soft serve blended with candy), shakes, frappes, freezes, floats, malts, and ice cream sodas. Order from the outside takeout windows and there's picnic table seating available next to the building. Overall, a great place for ice cream and it's only 2-3 minutes down the road from the Londonderry Flea Market.
