Tried the rum raisin, cinnamon toast crunch and strawberry cheesecake. The rum raisin is such a nice creamy flavor, my favorite, the cinnamon toast crunch tastes just like the cereal, my bf's fave. The strawberry cheesecake tasted a bit artificial, not the best. So I ordered pistaccio, cotton candy, and whip cream to take home and put in the freezer. All the flavors are amazing. But the service isnt good. I had to ask mutliple times for a lid for the icecream explaining that they were going to be in the freezer. And at first they gave me plastic wrap. And after I asked a few more times if they had a lid that was hard, the vendor said yes. I expected that he would give me 3 because I had 3 orders to go. (Wish me luck) located in Salem nh with a big parking lot out back and it's also connected to a burger shop which I will try cause it looked good from the outside. Now let's talk about this great ice cream place , When it comes to ice cream I wants lots of options, the lines are busy here but they move fast, I don't mind waiting cause it takes me forever to pick the right flavor. Huge scoops, over 30 flavors, shakes, cakes ,soft serve sorbet they have it all. I went to jay gee's tonight and was excited to find out they have two dairy free ice cream and all you have to do is ask! They make their own, I got oreo cookie, it taste more like coconut but it was worth having a treat with my family while out. I didn't want slush so I figured why not. This is great for people that have allergies and or vegan. Next I'll have to see if they make shakes with dairy free milk, something to think about if they don't! My hubby got a thick frappe and it definitely held up to its thickness! Its a bit pricey, but you do get a large amount. My boyfriend who lives in Methuen took us here after I mentioned that I wanted ice cream after dinner. Honestly wasn't impressed based off the picture of the menu on yelp but HOLY COW when we got here. The menu was HUGE! I was not expecting it to be soooo BIG! We definitely could've shared. The boys enjoyed the ice cream very much. There was plenty of flavor and toppings. I got a small soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist with a chocolate dip on a cone. Once again a small is NOT small. I recommend asking for a cup to split it unless you got a big stomach for ice cream. Our cashier gave us lids and boxes with napkins just in case. Clearly not thinking clearly I also got a rootbeer float which was loaded up with TWO BIG SCOOPS of vanilla ice cream hanging right on top on the cup (no lid at first but we asked for one). Definitely the size alone is instagramable and Snapchat worthy. They open until 10PM so it's perfect out a last minute treat. I'll def come back to try more stuff like the sundaes and banana boats. But for sure gonna be sharing with the kids next time instead. After driving by this place oh-so-many times, we finally decided to give it a sample. As EVERYONE has mentioned, servings are enormous. Seriously, if you don't want to take some home just go with a kiddie size. And even if you do plan to take some home, kiddie might be enough for you. My wife and I split a small and we still ended up tossing a bit (we weren't headed straight home) even though I am a huge ice-cream fan. Unfortunately, I only gave it three stars (hey, that's not bad!) because of how amazing Ricardson's is. We made sure to try "purple cow" (our favorite) at both places to compare, and Richardson's is leaps and bounds better. Creamier, more chocolate, etc. Honestly, I'd just as soon go grab a couple of pints of Ben & Jerry's and call it a day. Now don't get me wrong, for the area this is great. And the comparison I am making may not even be a terribly fair one since Richardson's is about 30 miles away, but it is what it is. As other reviewers have mentioned, the portions are huge-- I am a serious ice cream eater, but I ended up saving the remainder of my "kiddie" size (which I believe cost $3.90) for the next day). The sign says the ice cream is homemade, and it certainly tasted yummy; between my friends and I, we had chocolate soft serve, cookie dough, and moose tracks-- all of which were delicious! The seating area, which is right on 28, is not hugely atmospheric, but there are plenty of tables, and the parking lot in the back is very convenient. Got a chocolate dipped waffle cone of mint oreo, the cone was cracked down the side. I might not have cared so much except that this is the SECOND time this summer this happened. The last time the teenage "manager" let me know that sometimes that just happens....gave the attitude that he really didn't care. Let me begin by saying the ice cream here IS good. I do take particular exception to a few things though. 1. I have been there before when there has been one or two windows open and waited in large lines. I found it annoying when I got to the window and seen girls standing around and chatting instead of waiting on customers. I have also seen them on their phones/texting instead of waiting on customers. 2. I have been treated with dirty looks for not tipping. News flash! You make way too much to be considered for a tip. A tip at your pay scale is an act of kindness and shouldn't be expected. Especially when you made me wait while you chatted it up with your little friends. 3. The size issue. The sizes are arbitrary. The best way to actually receive a large is to first order a small and then upon seeing it, say you've changed your mind and would prefer a large. Worst ice cream We've ever had. My husband and I shared a large 3 scoop ice cream on a cool June night. It was already melting by the time we got it from the server. The Snickers was just a vanilla-based ice cream with only a little bit of snickers bits in it. The Chocolate almond DIDNT EVEN TASTE LIKE CHOCOLATE. With your eyes closed you couldn't tell you were eating a chocolate-based ice cream, it was that weak. Very few almonds although they were whole ones. The Hood ice cream cups you get in a supermarket had more flavor than this. Strawberry cheesecake was the most flavorful but had no cheesecake bits that we had assumed it contained.
