I'm not normally a lasagna person but when I saw this shop was almost dedicated to it I had to try. I had been hoping to try the meat or vegetarian sampler listed in online menus but it wasn't available in the online order that day. We instead got: - A slice of the Bianca: white sauce with caramelized onions and pancetta. A fun twist and onions not too sweet - A slice of Abruzzo: a classic meat red sauce. It was more flavorful than the bianca so we should have stuck with the traditional - A slice of tiramisu: I think the current vitality of tiramisu is a bit overhyped but this was one of the best Ive had as it was very strongly coffee forward, like a super creamy espresso martini Each slice of lasagne is about 2 small servings for me. A bit too rich for me to finish all in one sitting Logistics: - Indoor and outdoor seating - limited street parking nearby but a block from 22nd St Caltrain station and 20th street T Muni station - Order with the QR code in online form - There's just one server so be patient with him as it gets busy!

Came here to try out a neighborhood spot! I had heard a lot of good things about this place from friends. Note that the pasta is only available during lunch, so I'll definitely be back to try that out! When we came for dinner, they were out of a lot of items already. I got the eggplant lasagna, and my friends got the caesar salad and bolognese lasagna. Everything was delicious- definitely solid lasagna and salad :) In terms of ambiance, seating is limited, but we sat outdoors and the weather and vibes were quite nice! The service is also good - you self order by scanning and paying for your phone!

Their food comes up fairly quick with reasonable price! We loved their tiramisu! Their lasagna is premade but taste delicious! Good to try if you are nearby.

While visiting SF before the marathon and wanting to carbo load, ( I'm not running just carbohydrates loading), I thought I'd pop into this unpretentious little shop with the reputation of having the best lasagna in town. Like I said this is an unpretentious little neighborhood restaurant with super friendly people who bend over backwards to insure you leave happy. Since I came for lasagna how could I not have the trio sampler featuring 3 popular separate serving s of lasagna. Each was delicious there was a spicy 1/3rd slice, a meat filled 1/3rd slice and my favorite 1/3 slice the white slice. We also had salad which was fresh and was served with home baked bread and some soup all pictured below. I noticed many regulars stopping in ordering pasta dishes so while I did not try them on this trip I think I will when I return.

Best. Lasagna. In. SF. This place has odd hours, is a bit out of the way but totally worth the visit. This massive piece of deliciousness comes in a hot metal pan. Get their classic or mushroom or Bianca lasagna entree. They have indoor and lovely outdoor seating. Street parking is easy to find in the area. The service is great. They start you off with some bread and each slice comes with a light salad.

One of my favorite lasagna places in San Francisco! We went on a weekend afternoon and the place was packed. We had to wait around 15 minutes for seats. The restaurant felt really cozy and the day was super nice out and sunny so we decided to sit outside. We got the meat sampler lasagna and the mushroom ravioli. I enjoyed the meat sampler lasagna a lot. The meat sauce was flavorful and packed with delightful tomato taste. 5/5. I wish the portion sizes are bigger. The meat sampler came with three small slices of lasagna but it wasn't enough for me! Wish it was more! The mushroom ravioli was delicious as well. The ravioli was well made, and the mushroom sauce was creamy.

I mean, it is what it is. Edible, basic. Pizza consisted of thick, extremely greasy dough, covered in cheese, served in a plastic container. Service was minimal, order from an app. Very limited choice -- everything was " sold out ", which means pre-made. Lasagna felt reheated. Really nothing, and I mean nothing, " authentic " about the food. Might be good at 2am drunk coming back from a bar.

Loved Marcella's Lasagneria! Wish there were more restaurants like Marcella's-- it's a cute neighborhood gem! This lasagna shop differs from others because it doesn't use the thick lasagna sheets like a lot of other places do. We ordered the Abruzzo (Italian sausage) and Bolognese (ground sirloin angus beef) lasagnas and enjoyed them both. Interior is small with all outdoor style garden tables and service was friendly. The only caveat was that we thought our waitress forgot our order and our lasagnas were just warm instead of hot like the other tables dishes. Would love to try the tiramisu if I go back!

Wonderful neighborhood spot, owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating! Meal comes with bread and salad! The abruzzo lasagna had nice flavor, the tomato sauce has a nice acidity that keeps the lasagna from being heavy. I enjoyed the charred bits! Could have more meat filling is my only desire.

Lives up to the hype! Can be hard to eat because their hours are weird? Conveniently located right off the T Muni Metro line. Lasagna is filling and fluffy and handmade. Lots of meat. Tender mushrooms. Nice texture and ratio of cheese to sauce to pasta.

Came here to get some takeout for lunch on a Friday. The servers were extremely friendly and attentive even though they were packed with dine in customers. Their lasagna really stands out among the average. I don't usually go for lasagna when I have the option of other pasta because often times the lasagna sheets are super thick and doughy. This isn't the case here though, the pasta is thin and the texture is amazing. I would totally come here again to dine in, Im sure it's even better served fresh.

3.5/5 Perhaps the softest lasagna I've ever had! This place used to be lunch only but ever since the board game cafe next door took over, they're opened for dinner as well. This spot is a casual takeaway spot with some tables inside but all of the food comes in to-go style boxes. My friends and I tried: Butternut Squash (lightly sweet), Mushroom, and the Abruzzo (probably the most disappointing as there wasn't much spiciness or italian sausage). I wished all had a stronger taste but the mushroom one was the best! Each bite was so soft: borderline mushy but still good! Each one is like $20 though.

About 10 years ago, I worked at a company that would have catered lunch once a week and Marcella's was always one of my favorites. The lasagna using thin fresh pasta was nothing like I'd had before (except for in Italy) and the flavors were amazing. The abruzzo, pesto, and butternut squash were my favorites. Inspired by Marcella's, I even learned to make my own lasagna using fresh pasta but lemme tell you, it's a labor of love and who has time for that? I've made it out to the restaurants a few times since and it never fails to disappoint. I love the outdoor seating on nice days and the staff has always been nice. The bread, chili oil, and salad that come with an order of lasagna are all very good too. I want some of that chili oil to take home. I keep meaning to try their pastas, but the lasagnas are too good to pass up and the portion sizes are healthy enough that I leave feeling stuffed as is.

We came for lunch on a Monday and ordered the Caesar salad, calamari, two pastas and the burrata salad, and every single dish was excellent. The pastas in particular were incredible, but even the appetizers and salads were thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. It was one of those meals where everything just worked, and there wasn't a single dish that I wouldn't happily order again. The restaurant itself is also really cute, with a warm and lively atmosphere and charming interior decor. They have outdoor seating as well, which is a nice option when the weather is good. Dinner can get especially busy on Friday nights and weekends, but the energy is part of what makes this place fun. They stay open until midnight, so later in the evening it really starts to feel like a bit of a scene. I would highly recommend Bottega for both lunch and dinner. Amelia recommended one pasta dish per person in the party, to share family style (which ended up working well for us, since we also got three appetizers, and finished the meal with a small amount of yummy leftovers for tomorrow) so that's what we did, along with the starters... We got the "big juicy meatballs with tomato and pancetta," which were incredible; the bread was delicious and certainly is not just a side to the amazing (definitely juicy) herbed tender meatballs. I'd definitely get this again, along with the grilled zucchini with worm salt and mint, which was so flavorful and tasty. We also got the smokey romano beans with fire roasted tomato, which was also really good but just keep in mind the emphasis on the smokey flavor! It wasn't my cup of tea but that's for sure a personal thing. For pastas, I'd rank them in this order: 1. our favorite was today's lasagna du jour, which was mushroom! So delicious, with a crispy cheesy crust, soft tender interior, and an almost caramelized tomato sauce accompanying. 2. Reginette with pork sugo (meat sauce) and spicy turnip greens was next, which had wonderful flavor with the tomato-based sauce and pieces of pork but if you like it slightly softer texture it might not be for you (same with the fusilli; the go-to preparation is aldente!). 3. Fusilli alla vodka with tomato, calabrian chili, cream, basil, and added garlic butter shrimps; this one's sauce felt a little underwhelming and more watery than creamy, and I'm just now realizing that although the menu said four garlic butter shrimp (an extra $7), we only got three. I think I'd come back for the lasagna and/or to buy the pasta from their expansive stock, cook it a bit longer, and serve it covered in a decadent creamy sauce.

We ordered the side of wood grilled corn to start, I ordered the malfadine al limone pasta and my boyfriend ordered the spaghetti pomodoro. The wood grilled corn had a nice char to it and we enjoyed the accompanying sauce and cheese on top; however, based on the menu description I was expecting a little more of a Calabrian chili flavor / kick. The pomodoro was good but nothing to write home about, and the malfadine was a bit of a surprise / the highlight! I enjoyed the curly pasta texture and loved the lightness of the sauce paired with the salt flavor and complexity of the salmon roe on top. We love a good dessert but nothing caught our eye on the menu this time, as we don't prefer the soft, creamy desserts like panna cotta (as opposed to something more tangible like a cannoli). Lastly, we also had the following glasses of wine: Verdecchio, Verdeca, Montepulciano, and the Carignan Blend. As someone that loves crisp white wines with high acidity and minerality, I loved the Verdecchio. The Verdeca was refreshing but too light and not fruit forward enough for my preference. We both liked the Carignan, as we like deeper berry flavors, and the Montepulciano was OK (didn't love but didn't dislike). Would definitely love to come back and try some of the other wine varieties and menu options!

I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .
