UPDATED REVIEW "It's…read morebeen awhile Since I've seen the way the candles light your face" (Staind) It's been a while since I visited the Redstone Pub, so we popped in today for a late lunch/early dinner today at the start of their 3:00 Happy Hour. I saw on their social page that Redstone has really stepped up their game of late. Think a new menu, lower prices, a super simplified Happy Hour (Every menu item & drink is $3 OFF), Weekly Specials, a lunch menu, and special events Trivia Tuesdays, Game Night Thursdays, and Wine & Whiskey Wednesdays. Our server Josh was great, super friendly and helpful. With the Happy Hour discount, we bought 2 Mich Lights for $3 a pop, a BLT with chips for $13. And a chicken quesadilla for $13. The BLT had quite a bit of bacon, and likewise, the quesadilla had quite a bit of chicken. We were very happy with our Happy Hour experience. Nice job reinventing yourself, Redstone.

Let's start with the beers - HH Beers are $4. We had a choice of two drafts - Counterweight Headway and my choice - a Stony Creek lager. Bottled beers are also $4. HH food choices are limited to just three, and we ordered all of them -Shrimp Cocktail ($1.50 per), Honey Sesame Chicken Wings ($7.50), and a Grilled Flatbread ($8). We each ordered three of the shrimps, and they were plated up beautifully with a side of greens, Bloody Mary cocktail sauce, and a dill/horseradish aioli. The Flatbread of the day included tomatoes, pesto, cheese and fig jam. It was an excellent merging of different flavors on a thin crust and was very good. But as good as that Flatbread was, it lost the evening's competition to the Honey Sesame Chicken Wings. They won the evening's Gold Medal. The seven beauties were glistening with a honey glaze and were absolutely fantastic! Our feast of two beers and three HH plates ran just $35, and we really enjoyed the experience. Our server Liz was friendly, pleasant, helpful and non-intrusive. Happy Hour is 4:00-6:00, and we hope to be back. BTW, their regular menu features sandwiches, salads, and entrees, and they all looked pretty reasonably priced.

The bartender there was so helpful with my food order as I asked what he recommended and he gave me numerous choices to go with. He suggested the wings and pizza which I took his advice. I ordered the 4 boneless wings for $5.00 along with the medium size pizza for $17. I went with the boom boom sauce on the boneless wings and i really loved the flavor and fresheners of the wings. The iron horse also makes their own blue cheese dressing. I also went with the thin all American style pizza crust 1/2 bbq chicken and 1/2 buffalo chicken as I couldn't decide and wanted to try both. I feel the Buffalo chicken would be more flavorful with their homemade blue cheese dressing drizzled on it too. I also ordered their $1 slice pepperoni pizza to go for my kids. I really enjoyed everything i ordered. I especially love their boneless wings they make and if you haven't tried yet the boom boom sauce you must. It's a combination of chipotle sauce and ranch dressing. Definitely will be back to try more food during happy hour. The place has a good size bar area and offers great specials for drinks. They just opened the patio that they have as well. There are other locations available to visit. Unionville , Bristol.

Iron Horse Pizzeria and Pub is located on Iron Horse Blvd. almost across from the Simsbury…read morePerforming Arts Center concert venue. It's a fairly clean restaurant/ pub serving pizza and pub food type of dive bar The layout is kind of funky and a little bit dark, with what looked like a very limited number of booths. The booth, my friend and I sat at was right next to the door, which I don't like, but it was the only one available. This place is more of a pub, grab a beer or some pizza and some chicken wings Prices are reasonable, the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating I ordered a chicken sandwich that was soy and bourbon infused, with a side order of onion rings My friend ordered a standard house salad with house dressing. My friend asked for coffee, which they don't have because the coffee machine was broke. So ice water it was for both of us. Hmmmm The food arrived rather quickly, the chicken sandwich was good not great. The sandwich was ona specials menu for $16. The roll wasn't anything to write home about, the chicken was OK, the good thing was it looked fresh and tasted fresh. I liked the soy and bourbon infusion. The onion rings were generously portioned out and were really good, with a nice simple side of ketchup. My friend enjoyed the house salad with the house dressing, and they did serve some bread on the side, which was very nice Overall, I don't think this is really a must visit, go to lunch spot, but if you're gonna go to a concert across the street, this would be a great place to grab a drink or beer and some appetizers chicken wings or pizza Easy parking, clean restrooms, handicap, accessible

Hoops and Hops, often referred to as Hoops, is a small bar packed with plenty of good beer, food,…read moreand service. Hoops offers 12 different draft beers, rotated often for maximum variety, along side a very large cooler full of over 75 variety of bottled beer. With a fully stocked bar and a knowledgable line up of bartenders, cocktails are in abundance for all occasions. The menu at hoops is offered right off the same selections of adjoining restaurant, Antonio's Family Restaurant, and there are two menus to choose from. If you arrive prior to 9pm you can order off the full menu (10 pm on Friday and Saturday) and a smaller late night menu is offered every night until last call. The food is delicious sober or not. The hot oven grinders (sandwiches for you non New Englanders) are packed every time with fresh veggies and meat. The pizza dough is made daily and the taste proves that every time. Though the food prices are a little steep (which is why I give Hoops 4 stars) but the portions and quality are worth the price. Service at Hoops is what is to be expected anywhere else. When they are slow the bartenders are prompt and when they are busy you will probably wait a bit longer than you want. The bar is never understaffed and the drinks are always good. Asking a bartender for their signature shot or drink can be a great way to discover new drinks. I particularly enjoy a few amenities Hoops offers as well... Pool tables, darts, juke box, pinball, foosball table, 10 large tv's for plenty of sports, Nintendo wii, and many more fun activities. There is a monthly calendar with many exciting events every month. A great place to be with your friends!

This is an opportunity to improve and attract people who love this cuisine. The PuPu Platter is a major aspect of Polynesian/Asian/ Hawaiian/American dining, and of course TIKI culture. And if done right this would be something that everyone (especially people ordering Mai Tais, and even kids) would want to experience at this restaurant. For $22 which was a great price, I thought it would look much better, but it was just boring and uninspired. I suggest the restaurant charges $25 and just make it better, with a more decorated plate and the flame in the center to warm up the meats. Everything else was fabulous! Great quality, great service and we tried a lot in one night. Hostess was lovely and checked on us frequently. We will be back. Please make the PuPu Platter better!

After several years, we decided everyone deserves a second chance. Apparently, so does disappointment. Today's visit started with a lengthy wait for drinks, which gave us plenty of time to admire the restaurant's impressive indoor climate control system set to "walk-in freezer." As we slowly lost feeling in our extremities, we waited for our food. And waited. And waited. The table next to us eventually gave up and asked for their food to go because it was taking so long. We thought, "Well, at least they'll get food." Plot twist: our food never came. On the bright side, if you're looking for a place to practice patience, intermittent fasting, and cold exposure therapy all at once, Plan B has you covered.

I had the scallops with risotto which were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Hats off to anyone who can cook a risotto well and they do it perfectly. I started with clam chowder that while could've been a little hotter, was thick and delicious. Other people in the party had eggplant Parmesan, which reportedly was terrific, chicken Parmesan that was cooked beautifully with lots of grilled chicken a lovely marinara that was topped with lots of cheese and spiced. The ancient grain risotto was again fantastic, and anyone who can cook a risotto well deserves kudos. The dessert I had the strawberry shortcake that wasn't too sweet and had a beautiful flavor of fresh strawberries throughout with lots of whipped cream. The Keylime pie was tart and delicious. The Brooklyn layered chocolate cake was tremendous layers of cake and frosting. It was just a perfect rendition of a chocolate cake. Last but not least was the coconut cake which rivals my favorite coconut cake in the world from Max A Mia. The Abigail's version was a bit lighter, but equally as delicious with coconut frosting that really hit the spot and is worth the trip back. The bill came to $317 and with a $60 tip for outstanding service and a wonderful Mother's Day meal

Highly recommend. The bacon cheeseburger was huge with a thick patty cooked, medium to medium rare and was delicious with toppings, ranging from pickles and onions.
