Food is really good, service is too, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]love the ambiance for watching World Cup[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Definitely recommend.

    We'll be back Monday!!!

Four of us came to the Maple Tree Cafe for dinner on a Friday evening, when a Talcott Mountain concert attracted almost everyone else in town. We were seated promptly, greeted, given regular, beverage and daily special menus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maple tree used to be a dive bar that I frequented many many years ago...but has since greatly upgraded their atmosphere, bar, and food offerings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a cup of NE clam chowder, and their Fish n Chips - I've been having a fish jones for a while since our go-to place in Hartford closed last year. The chowder was decent, perhaps a bit on the thyme-y side, but still enjoyable. We also ordered a meatball appetizer, served with a ribbon of marinara sauce. Yum! My Fish n Chips hit the spot, with four nice-sized chunks of well-cooked fish on a bed of curly fries...all steaming hot. Served with Cole slaw and tartar sauce, it was quite satisfying. Our server and plate runners were both very nice, and responsive to our requests. All in all, a delightful evening. We shall return!

Patio lunch: great margs, not shabby sweet potato fries, and a nice Ruben! (Buttery and a little messy as it should be) and holds a crunch. Love this spot for live music and the bar, but 3 stars my for my partner getting sick from the cob salad with chicken afterwards. Everything else was good!

Had an AMAZING time at the Maple Tree Cafe tonight. Sat at the bar and was served by Ken who provided great conversation. Ordered fried mozzarella as an appetizer and had a chipotle chicken bacon panini, both were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the pulled pork Mac and cheese which was also very good, and we shared a cheese pizza which is one of the best in the area. We left with plenty of leftovers. Drink menu had great depth, we will definitely be back!

Such a cozy atmosphere! I had the fried asparagus appetizer - SO good!!! The butternut ravioli was the best I have had. It felt like fall in a bowl! I tried the house G&T from the cocktail list and as a G&T fan, I absolutely loved it! Service was very prompt. I didn't feel like I waited long for anything. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Everything from the dining hall to the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Went with some girlfriends and will definitely be going back with my husband!!! I am excited to try their brunch!

Had a nice lunch there today. The restaurant was pretty empty but the bar was very crowded with regulars on their barstools, ringing the bar like a picture frame. Its a pretty ambitious menu with nearly 20 appetizers ranging from inexpensive (garlic bread for $2) to wings (15 pcs for $13) and from the ordinary (fried mozzarella) to the unexpected (crab cakes). We had a Cobb Salad ($11) and a Chicken Quesadilla ($10). The salad was good, but in an average-good way. The Quesadilla was advertised as being served with sour cream, guacamole and salsa, but when it came out of the kitchen, the guac was missing. We asked the server about it, and she said that not everyone likes guac, so she doesn't bring it out unless it is specifically asked for.. Thats a minus one point. The salsa was fantastic, and when I mentioned to her that I liked it, she chimed in that it was home-made -- so they get that deducted point back. We asked for the leftover quesadillas to be boxed up, and when she brought them back from the kitchen, she said she added some extra guac for us. That's a bonus point. I checked out the dinner menu and saw a lot of chickens and veals and pastas and chops and seafood in the $13 - $20 range. Not cheap, but not out of this world high either. I might have to stop back on the way home from work on Thursday- in honor of the start of the baseball season, they have an Opening Day special-- $2 beers and you keep your Yankee or Red Sox glass. Now that's what I call Customer Service !!

Take advantage of this perfect summertime porch!

Food is good for a bar. Friday nights are fun to do date night as they draw some good local bands.

Good food, bad service! Don't plan on going back. Staff was not friendly! It felt like we were imposing on them by being there.

Decent pub food. The outdoor patio is the draw, but with Amelia's now across the street, The Maple Tree would be the second choice.

I went here for lunch and it was spectacular, they had just opened at 11:30am and I was the first one in and they were ready to go. I got to pick where I would sit. Walking in the decor was really nice, a lot of dark woods and the warm lighting made the whole place feel super cozy and inviting. For my meal I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and a 10 inch Pepperoni Pizza. The chicken was breaded perfectly and covered in the most delicious sauce and melted cheese. The pizza was just as amazing with a great crust and plenty of pepperoni. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and the portions were great. The service was excellent from start to finish since they were so prepared for the lunch crowd. If you are ever in the area or flying in and need a fantastic meal, I highly recommend checking this spot out. I will definitely be back!

The restaurant is always shiny clean and with inviting hosts as soon as you walk in the door. The Rhode Island Calamari with fried chilis was so crispy, topped with sesame seeds and paired with a creamy tarter like sauce. The Illi Dilly was surprising tasty with the fried pickles, red onions and a creamy white ranch-like dressing. The Margarita pizza was brightly colored with quite flavorful sauce, and fresh mozzarella & Basil and the crust on the pie was thin and crunchy. The Bucatini with mushrooms and peas was delightfully al dente and robustly flavored with fresh herbs. Service is always welcoming and cheery here. We always look forward to our monthly visit. A job very well done, as usual!

We both ordered pink lemonades. I was craving a burger so I had a 1/3 pound burger and then included a sauce and toppings from like a McDonald's Big Mac burger. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato mayonnaise, and onion We ordered a large order of onion rings to accompany our burger After a 5 to 7 minute, wait the burgers arrived! My burger arrived, exactly as I ordered a medium rare. This burger was hand formed 1/3 pound of fresh hamburger. It was so juicy. It was also grilled with love. The toppings were spot on would like having a big Mac. I loved the soft roll. So fresh so spongy so delicious. The onion rings were on point, and there were so many in my order. I took some home. These are some really good rings. The pink lemonade was so tart and delicious ice cold. It was perfect on this warm day. Another great experience in this institution called Antonio's! Our food arrived as the place began to fill up to capacity... still only the chef and his wife running the entire restaurant. My food was dropped off an I waited and waited for the waitress to be back to see how things were, so I could request a soup spoon to use while eating my angel hair pasta. 15-20 min later still no check in, so I used the tiny teaspoon that came with the shredded Parmesan. My lemon chicken was too lemony and not enough other flavors to be entirely enjoyable, but it was cooked perfectly. My friends enjoyed their meals too, but again with en entirely full restaurant and one server, there wasn't a lot of attention paid. We had to wait over 25 minutes just to receive our check. I was left with so many mixed feelings. It was a Wednesday night, but they should have known their reservations were full. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. Atmosphere is nice i side and yes the owner and his wife are very nice... but checking back with your tables moments after bringing their food to see if all is as expected or whether something else is needed, an important part of the dining experience. I don't know if I'll be back.
