I'd worked with a few property managers before finding Katie at Maple Leaf Management. They now manage 5 rental condos for me, and I couldn't be happier with their management. They're quick to turn around the properties when tenant turnover occurs, do a great job and maintaining and cleaning them, and handle most issues that occur with the properties pretty well. Communication is timely, knowledgeable, and just excellent all around. They're able to interact with the HOAs as well (for the most part, sometimes I have to participate as well) - which is by far the worst part of managing a real estate property. I get a nice clean statement monthly and annually. As my life has become busier, I find the management fees to be completely worth it for me, and a far more efficient use of my time than if I had to do things myself. Many small / simple repairs for which I would have to call a technician at retail prices (eg: $500 minimum for a plumber etc.) can be handled by the repair person that Maple Leaf has, which also saves me money on repairs. read more

My husband and I are researchers at UW and we were delighted to find a beautiful house in Ravenna after a long search for a good rental. However, this rental by 65th and 19th Ave NE, Seattle turned out to be the most regretful tenancy for us of all times. The landlords who live right next door, are extremely intrusive and had little to no regard for our privacy or well being. Maple leaf having been hired by the landlords, probably did not have a choice, but to be supportive of the landlords. One of their agents failed to inform us about the landlords' residence being right next door and other important details about the house, until after we signed the lease. This would have been ok if we handn't found ourselves being constantly watched over by the landlords and unwelcome emails sent to us by them every so often. There were regular visits to the house (every two weeks on an average) and every attempt was made to control how we lived in the house. We felt extremely unwelcome and disrespected throughout our tenancy and were glad to move out at the end of our one year lease. Maple Leaf was co-operative when we asked for a change of the rental agent assigned to us. We were also pleased by the fairness of the check out process and when we mistakenly had guests stay with us for longer than permitted. This was a particularly terrible experience, probably due to the landlords of the house. However, as real estate agents in charge of the property, we expected Maple Leaf to be supportive and welcoming not just of the landlords, but also towards tenants occupying the property. There were several instances where Maple Leaf could have stepped in and made this a more pleasant stay for us. read more

I think I reached out to her many times with probably silly questions, and she was always quick to respond in a way that didn't make me feel silly at all. I moved in last September and, so far, I've highly enjoyed my time in my apt complex run by MLM. They are quick with maintenance issues (even non-urgent issues), the rent is reasonable, there's a washer/dryer IN the unit, the complex just got new paint in the stairwell and little things here and there are being fixed (ex: a door that was slamming now closes slowly and quietly). The only con I have is the aluminum windows, which have quite a bit of condensation on them during the colder months. This is easy enough to deal with given all the perks of the complex. Overall, I'm highly satisfied and this is SO much better than my last apt complex (don't get me started.) read more

One of the condos in our small building in Ballard is a rental, managed by Maple Leaf Properties. Their entire lockbox, which had been outside for prospective renters to be able to see the unit, as well as a key to the outside security door was stolen. Bruce Meratinia, the agent in charge of this unit was right on top of the situation. He immediately emailed the owners of the condo, as well as our HOA. to notify everyone of the urgency of the situation. He had a Locksmith come the very next morning, who was able to stay long enough to also deal with the security door and garage entry door issues, which were changed at the same time. Bruce made sure that the new keys would find their way to all the building owners. We really appreciated how Bruce, representing Maple Leaf, took responsibility and helped to expedite a happy resolution to this very stressful situation! read more

After researching this company and finding out that they are great in helping couples find a place in Seattle when relocating to the town, it comes to find out that they are not willing to help anyone, and do not have the decency to call the applicants with the results. After having applied and rejected only for the reason of not living in Seattle at the time of receiving the application, the property was shown as rented, only for the then applicants to turn down signing the lease. The property in which was applied for reappears on their website along with numerous other renting websites less than a week after our application was rejected on insufficient excuses. When this company was contacted again by our brother who lives in Seattle and viewed the property, they stated they were not comfortable renting to those who have not seen the house due to previous experiences. When told that we would fly out within 24 hours to view same, they still were not willing to accept our application that was submitted over a week ago and the first application to be received. Contacting this company is a waste of your time as they are not willing to help people who are genuine and capable of renting a house. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!!! read more

We've been working with Melissa from Maple Leaf for three years and would recommend them highly to anyone looking for a management company. A few examples of their excellent service: they are unfailingly responsive--when we came home after hours on a Friday to discover an outdoor pipe had frozen and burst we were able to get a hold of them within 10 minutes and Melissa worked her butt off to find a plumber that could come by on the weekend (after an ice storm when all the plumbers were busy, no less). They have been super easy to communicate with about any maintenance issues that have come up, and have been awesome about working around our work from home schedule and being considerate of our dog when they have needed to come by for maintenance or walk-throughs. I really feel like everyone we have dealt with at Mapleleaf is a kind human who understands that our rental is also our home and wants us to have a good experience, and I have never had problems with getting in touch with them or feeling like they are trying to just take our money as we have experience with landlords in the past. I was referred to Kit and her team by a trusted realtor and friend that regularly used Maple Leaf Management to manage his and his client's properties. For the year prior, I had dealt with an ineffective property management company (Phillips Real Estate) that was lazy, dishonest, and simply unresponsive with me and my tenants. I was living out of state at the time, so I was desperately seeking a replacement to address the needs of my tenants (they had started to reach out directly to me when they did not hear back from the property manager), and for my own peace of mind. After our initial phone conversation, Kit promptly handled the uncomfortable transition from the previous property manager and professionally communicated the change to my tenants. They were quick to figure out the rental market value, post the advertisements, screen several applicants, and generate the necessary paperwork. The up front fees and commission are pricey, but the company is professional and experienced. During the year, they were quick to respond to issues and coordinate with me. The closing process was not as efficient or clear cut at the end when my tenant had moved out, but the issues were resolved.
