I placed a phone order for mommy and me dresses from the new Kapana collection and LOVE them! The sales associate on the phone was very friendly and super helpful, answering all my questions (there were many since I wasn't able to try on) about sizing for both myself and the baby. I ordered on Friday and received the dresses the next Wednesday, so quick! I was nervous about purchasing having never tried on any Manu apparel but thankfully the xs Brittany dress fits perfectly. For reference I'm 5'1" 112 lbs and usually a 2P in case others need some sizing context and can't make it in to the store. I'll be calling again soon because now my mom wants a top as well! I now know why they don't have 5 stars! Me and my boyfriend went in their looking for matching outfits for our daughters 1st birthday party and their customer service is one of the worst I've ever witnessed! Being in customer service myself, us employees are their to help the guests find the best option no matter the situation, we help them out to the best of our abilities and also to prove to the customer that we went above and beyond! As for these employees they were little to no help and when we were asking questions due to the fact that we were about to spend a lot of money, they got irritated, and gave so much attitude! I recently bought my first Manuheali'i dress. I went to both the Honolulu and Kailua store before determining which dress to buy. At both stores, there was at least one friendly and helpful salesperson and one not so friendly. The store was clean and well lit, but I was disappointed in the quality of the stitching of their clothing. One dress the stitching was crooked, and another it was lumpy. The salesperson said they could fix it, but it would take a long time. For the amount of money you pay for a piece of clothing, I would expect better quality of sewing. I was also disappointed that they don't consider making enough of the same pattern for both men and women to match, especially since a lot of people like to buy matching Hawaiian outfits. I found a dress, but couldn't find a matching shirt for my son. Manuheali'i should reconsider their tactic in only producing limited quantities in a styles and colors or considered taking orders and producing them in a timely manner. I haven't left a review in a long time and I felt my experience with Manuheali'i this morning deserved a review. I had to go in and pick up 2 men aloha shirts for our groomsmen. We actually have 3 but he went to the Kailua location instead. The new print had been out been one week so I wasn't sure if they would still have the color & size I was looking for. They open at 0900 and were timely in opening the store. I proceeded in (I was the first one) and went straight to what I was looking for (I was on a mission). Thankfully, they had what I was hoping for. I grabbed the last sizes in that color & print and left. If you're not familiar with Manuheali'i, they come out with prints/designs and it's limited in quantity. Of course, I was in a bit of panic when I found out that the third one wasn't able to get the shirt in his size. I called the town location and spoke with Alyssa. She was great. She said there were no more but she'd call the Kailua location to find out and call me back. No joke, this girl called me back within 2 minutes. I appreciated how fast her response was. Their customer service is at a level every store should aspire to. Everyone greeted you as you entered and they were so helpful in finding and fulfilling our needs. The designs are beautiful, fabric is comfortable and there is something for everyone except the babies. A few months ago, our group decided to try purchasing a new Manuheali'i outfit for this year. I visited their shop at the Punahou location​ and expressed interest in purchasing for a group of 100 people. I was told by a salesperson at the counter - to contact so and so... which I did. Unfortunately, the staff person in charge of sales was​ probably having lunch or was​ busy on her smartphone - because she was definitely not paying attention to "business." It was over a week that I waited for a response, then I finally made phone call - because for some strange reason, they seemed "UNINTERESTED." When I did call the person in charge, her response was, "oh I didn't check my emails." Her response left me feeling irritated so I asked to speak with her manager or with someone in charge... This particular manager (P) seemed sketchy as well, and basically uninterested. So I asked her, "Does Manuhealii want business or, are they just not interested?! Because, 'we are interested,' and would like to purchase many items." It was after I imposed that question upon her, she finally changed her attitude, or pretended to change her attitude, then assured me that she will take care of things, and would be the contact person. Honestly, it made no difference. I sent numerous emails to her. There was absolutely​ no communication on her part. After 3 long weeks, I finally got a reply from someone else who said that 'she has taken over.' She (C) sent me an attachment (PDF chart) of the particular styles that they had available and was told to provide for her, the specific sizes that I needed. We hustled to get a ​list of names of our members, their sizes, and the ​particular dress style that they wanted. Our list was sent to them the very next day (EXCEL file). But, the Manuhealii staff were probably on a long lunch break again - because there was no follow-up at all. After checking every single day​ for a follow-up email, I waited for 3 days, then decided to send several duplicate emails - which were BCCd to other parties (as evidence). Still no response. Finally... 9 days later, they responded by saying that due to the opening of their Kailua showroom and an event that they're​ involved in for this weekend, they are not be able to "accommodate​" my order. No wonder people are skeptical. This company seems to be stuck in cruise-mode​ and lacks basic business skills. They won't​ go much farther in the​ little competitive Hawaii fashion industry. I would definitely not recommend Manuhealii to anyone!!! read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! They pick and choose who they want to help apparently even though my fiancé and I were in there for a while asking for help. Only one girl helped me and was nice. I stood around waiting for one girl to get a fitting room for me but it was obvious she was purposely ignoring me by the way she kept looking away when I tried to get her attention. I really love manu...but lately it seems more like a tourist shop then a local shop. We're Polynesian and we need bigger sizes

I'd give it 5 stars for the designs and fabric patterns but had to knock off a couple of stars for the finish work. If you're going to spend $60 plus on a shirt you'd expect it to be finished. All five of the items I purchased had hanging threads, some uneven seams and very crooked sewing of the patterns. I didn't notice this until I got the items home. Their return policy is exchange only so I'm hesitant to go back and try to find items without these flaws. I am disappointed in this especially since their clothing is so unique. Hopefully someone will double check the items before they put them on the floor for sale in the future. read more

Wasn't the most helpful in regards to service... I wanted to know my options with family matching...I was told by the sales folk there was nothing.. but I literally found like 4 different sets. They don't seem to know there sizes and or styles very well.. at 8 months pregnant I got down to a medium.. they were only handing me XL. Sizes run very big in some styles. What makes it so outstanding is its ability to fuze contemporary style and Hawaiian-inspired prints while simultaneously making the clothing approachable for men, women, and keiki of all shapes and sizes. Most of Manu's clothes are manufactured in Hawaii Nei, the designs are envisioned and created in-house, and each piece of clothing is unique. Prints change every 4-6 weeks and rarely repeat, so if you see something you really like you should probably snap it up! As mentioned in other reviews, indeed, Manuheali'i has debunked the idea that aloha wear is restricted specifically to luaus and older women. A year ago, I considered aloha wear as tawdry and outdated. After I was introduced to the company, I have since changed my mind. I have come to the realization that as locals we should wear our Hawaiian clothes with pride-- and there's no better way to do it than with Manu. All I can say is poor customer service. They greeted when I entered and that's about it. I was all by myself looking at the clothes, trying to find the right size and trying on the clothes. There were 2 ladies working in the shop and not a single greeting when I entered, no offer of assistance and when I wanted to try on a dress they just glared at me. When I found something that fit me, I didn't like the pattern and when I found a pattern I liked, they didn't have my size. Gorgeous, modern fabrics, beautifully built Aloha shirts. Staff was super helpful and nice. They are a design cooperative and continue to roll out new designs with new fabrics, so you have to choose from what they have at the time. I finally talked my husband into the "family" outfit and I knew it had to be Manuheali'i. First off the location and shop are perfect! The ambiance and set up are very welcoming. We were there before Christmas and it was off the richter BUSY!!!! There were at least 40 people in there. However the sales associates were all very friendly and helpful. These dresses cost a lot of $$ and now this one has to sit in the closet until I can figure a way to replace them. I thought I'd never write a poor review because I personally only would like to highlight outstanding service. However, I felt compelled to write this. This store has the worst customer service... and I'm an avid shopper, so that's saying a lot. I saw three employees and not one of them even simply greeted ANY of the customers walking into the store. Not even a simple, "Hello." Not even a brief smile. I think it's appropriate to greet first, have the customers walk around, then to ask something along the lines of, "What brings you in today?" Or at least ATTEMPT to engage in some sort of conversation. Not ONE of the three associates did that to ANY of the customers in the store. We all looked like we could use some assistance, but the associates just walked past us like we were invisible. They seemed to be more concerned about the spacing between the hangers. We all could use thirty seconds to one minute of customer service. Most people don't just stumble upon this store like how they would if if was at the mall just to "browse." They drive to this stand alone store for a reason. I was not surprised to see that the most recent reviews validate these thoughts, too. Extremely disappointing because the prints are beautiful. It's truly unfortunate that when I see the unique prints, I'll always be reminded of this lackluster shopping experience. read more

When I saw the new Lei Kukui line, I just had to get a matching set for me and my boyfriend. I stopped by their town location which I had never been before. Its cute and cozy, much like their Kailua location. Unfortunately, they didn't have the color and sizes I needed so I settled on getting a different color which was not a problem. The problem was, the staff there wasn't very helpful at all. There were a few women and a man working upon my arrival and the women just watched as I searched and searched for the style and color I was looking for. I had to ask for assistance since none was offered. After asking for a size, the woman disappeared into the back and never returned. When she came back out to the front, I asked if she had found the size and her reply was, "Oh. No, we don't have it" almost as if she hadn't looked for it at all.I felt very frustrated and unwelcomed in their store. I took my items (That I found on my own) to the register, paid, and left. Bright, well-lit boutique with unique and bold aloha prints for men and ladies. Men's shirts were $54 and $60. Plenty of choices for women, much more so than men, but all in the "Manuheali'i" style. Tough to find smaller sizes. Plenty of parking, good hours. read more
