Despite showing up to our reservation a few minutes late, the hostess was very accommodating and fit us in on a busy night. Bobo has a warm, French country-home feel that's really unique and one that I have yet to see replicated anywhere else. We ordered the truffle croquettes to start, which were fantastic, and the waitress helped us select wines. Afterwards, I ordered the tagliatelle bolognese. Perfect portion size, and the bolognese was rich. Prices were amazing considering the quality. Great food, unique venue, and very welcoming staff. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

I was able to snag a reservation for our party of 5 and I highly recommend doing so since there isn't too much seating inside and the seating outside is really only practical when the weather is nice. Service was pretty slow throughout brunch which I couldn't figure out why considering it wasn't super busy. Anyway, onto the food! The Fresser Platter was incredible. The NYC brunch spread of my dreams! I was impressed with the quality and taste of the various fish - none of which were overly fishy. The vegetable toppings were a perfect fresh element that complimented the cream cheese and fish. I appreciated that the bagels & toast were warm & pre-toasted. The scrambled eggs & caviar were delicious and the latkes paired well with each bite! They say this is for 2 people but honestly 4 people can comfortably share this. The Pancakes were a nice add-on just to have a sweet dish on the table. They won't blow you away but were solid. the Hot Lobster Roll had good flavor but totally not worth the ~$39 price tag considering the amount of lobster was abysmal. All in all, so glad I finally got to try the Fresser Platter and highly recommend that for brunch!

The staff is helpful, patient and quick on their feet. I was with my friends and am very grateful for their patience as we had no idea what we wanted. We arrived at 6pm at which point the restaurant was pretty empty but by the time we left at 7:40pm it was completely packed. This cute little restaurant is in the very busy Mulberry Street (hence the name), and serves a French menu. There is a dimly lit, intimate, simple, yet elegant indoor dining room that is perfect for a date, and then there is patio seating in an open courtyard in the back, which is perfect for outdoor dining-- it feels bright and open, yet private enough out of the public eye from the crowds walking on Mulberry. Our waitress was super pleasant and helped make the dinner go very smoothly. She was very attentive of our needs without being overbearing. I tried their Garden Lemonade which was refreshing and tasted more of cucumber water than anything else. It was not sweet at all (in a good way!) I wish it had been more lemon forward though but good nonetheless. For food we shared what I think was really the absolute perfect meal here: - tuna tartare: they bring this out unmixed and mix it up for you tableside. It was fun to see how few ingredients go into it and that makes the dish feel almost homemade. The flavors were perfectly tangy, citrusy, bright. Perfect light app to share between two people. I appreciated that it came with both little lettuce cups and crostini. Not the most mind blowing tartare I've had but was pretty good. Would order again! - shrimp cocktail: 4 jumbo prawns with this super delicious cocktail sauce that did not skimp on the horseradish. While this was very good, I don't know if the portion size justifies the price. Would skip next time. - green salad: the only salad they offer for dinner so most tables had ordered this. Super fresh mix of butter lettuce with several herbs like dill and parsley, very lightly dressed so that the flavors of the produce really came through. Simplicity in all its beauty! It was perfect. - poulet roti: this dish was actually mind-blowing. The portion was more generous than I imagined. The chicken was so tender, it fell off the bone. Also, the skin was crispy and flavorful. The chicken came over the most delicious mashed potatoes I've had at a restaurant, that were covered in chicken jus. The umami flavors, with the fat of the chicken, and the creamy mashed potatoes were absolutely dreamy. If you get one thing, get this! Shared between two and it was perfect! - coquillettes aux champignons: we also shared this dish which is basically an elevated Mac and cheese with mushrooms, chives, and truffles. They use Comte cheese so it has a perfectly nutty, sweet undertone. This came au gratin with a crispy layer of cheese on top of the pasta shells that was perfect. The pasta could have been a bit more al dente. Loved the mushroom and pasta combo! Very satisfying, - roasted carrots with marcona almonds: we got this as our last side and it was also delicious. The carrots were roasted perfectly with the right amount of caramelization, paired with the salty and nutty Marcona almonds. Chef's kiss. Really nice side dish! - dessert: we were initially pretty full so skipped ordering dessert. However, the staff was really nice and brought out some complimentary gelato for my mom's birthday with a candle! The vanilla flavor was rich (it was probably more of a French vanilla with an egg base), and it was soo creamy. Perfect for a summer afternoon! The gelato tasted very fresh and homemade! We enjoyed it a lot and I forgot to take pics of it. Overall, super cute ambiance, great service, and strong culinary work. While there are some dishes I would skip next time, I would come back for their chicken alone. The staff is very warm and welcoming, and the patio is such a nice vibe. I will certainly be coming back to have more lunches or dinners here this year, especially try their dining room as well because that was super cute!

That is where the good news mostly ends. The Caesar was solid, the pigs in a blanket were fun and well-executed, and the crispy caviar cheese stick was genuinely great, a standout bite that showed what this kitchen is capable of when it is on. The carrots were fine in concept but came out very hard, which is a straightforward execution miss. And then the hamachi crudo. This is not a quibble about seasoning or portion size. The fish was nearly brown and the smell hit before the first bite. My wife and I both had the same reaction immediately. We did not finish it and I would strongly encourage the kitchen to take a harder look at how long raw fish is being held before it goes out. Sending spoiled crudo to a table is a food safety issue, not just a quality one. The room has real potential and some dishes genuinely deliver. But until freshness and quality control are consistent across the menu, it is hard to recommend without a significant caveat.

They had a couple tables outside street side though most patrons sat inside. The bar looks like an upscale French bistro inside, dark subway tile, brass lighting fixtures, banquettes and medium/dark toned wood tables and splashes of red in the wall color. The staff was professional and cordial, providing menus, asking what type of water we prefer, taking orders and checking back in a timely manner as to how we were doing. Food and drink were on par with general Manhattan prices these days which is to say on the pricier side, $15-45 for appetizers, $27-60 for entrees, $20-22 for drinks. I didn't get many pics tho we ordered: - deviled eggs: on the house, they brought these over first. Yummy. - pigs in a blanket $15x2: comes with 4 pieces a plate. They were really good, flaky and crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. Though for number of pieces it felt like a lot to be paying north of $4 per bite-sized morsel after accounting for tax and tip. - butter lettuce and asparagus salad $19: the avocado on top was presented beautifully though we had a hard time finding the asparagus. Tasty dressing and fresh leaves. - chicory salad $21: a heartier salad with watermelon radishes, cranberries and blue cheese; I'm not a blue cheese lover though the flavors had good balance. - fries $13 x2: this were so-so, we demolished these though again $13 felt high for essentially a side of fries with ketchup and mayo. - grilled asparagus with shallot vinegarette $17: there was about 10 spears of asparagus and some of the bottoms were tough and fibrous. The flavor wasn't very good. - drinks: my coworkers got a couple drinks each and enjoyed. I got a hibiscus ginger Arnold Palmer $12 that was pretty good. A couple things that could be improved, on a warm day the temp inside the restaurant was pretty warm, bearable on an evening close to 80 degrees outside though hoped it'd be cooler inside. Secondly the tables were sticky. As nice as the restaurant decor was, it doesn't say good things when the tables are sticky.

We were quickly brought menus and a bottle of water, and the experience started off smoothly. We both decided to do the Restaurant Week special, which was $45 per person and felt like a great value for the amount and quality of food. To start, I ordered the calamari and artichokes, which were perfectly fried with a nice, crispy coating and a deep, savory flavor. It came with half a lemon and a mayo-based dipping sauce that paired really well. The portion was very generous, honestly so big I couldn't even finish it. My friend got the tricolor salad and said it was fresh and enjoyable. For the mains, I got the cacio e pepe, which was creamy, rich, and indulgent exactly what you want from that dish. It was simple but done really well. My friend ordered the chicken Milanese, and trying it together with everything on the plate really elevated the experience. it was one of those dishes that just works perfectly when eaten as intended. For dessert, I got the chocolate cake while my friend ordered the tiramisu. The cake was a bit dense since it was gluten-free, but still rich and satisfying, especially with the ice cream on top. The tiramisu was definitely the standout the mascarpone was light, airy, and perfectly balanced, making it my favorite of the two. We didn't have just one dedicated waiter, as a few different staff members helped us throughout the meal, but service was still attentive and efficient. The ambiance inside has a red-toned, dark, moody feel that makes it a really nice spot for a cozy dinner.
