We have been long time customers of Manny's but don't know if we'll be back anytime soon after today's experience. So it's Cinco de Mayo and we wanted to celebrate someplace special so we drove all the way from Fate over to Heath. At 5:00 on a Tuesday, they were already busy but we were greeted immediately and taken past a couple of empty tables only to be seated next to the kitchen. No can do - we told our hostess we didn't want to sit next to the kitchen and instead asked to be seated outside. As we're walking past some empty shaded tables, this pendeja attempts to sit us at a table towards the back of the patio directly IN THE SUN!! At that point we just decided to leave and head to Pablo's in downtown Fate, which we should have done to begin with! The level of incompetence is astounding! The hubs and I decided to give Manny's a try the other night. We'd been once before and hadn't loved it but it was a really long time ago. There was a wait but it was only like 15-20 minutes. It is very loud in there, so if you're looking for a quiet place, this isn't it. Landon was our waiter and he was great. The chips and salsa were good and our dinner was really good. I got the Mela plate with a cheese enchilada and upgraded to a soft fajita taco. I'm always looking for a good cheese enchilada with chili con carne and I enjoyed it! He got the chimichanga with queso on it. Both the chicken and beef fajita meat had a nice, smoky flavor. It was all good. I'm glad we gave it another try. read more

I am truly never disappointed when I make a trip to Manny's. They have a variety of delicious foods and drinks. My go tos are usually the stuffed relleno or the pollo poblano. I also really enjoy the cucumber margarita. The staff is very friendly and always knowledgeable when you're ordering. It's a nice place to eat with a chill atmosphere and TVs that are usually playing the current sporting event. read more

The place was packed on a Friday night so I thought this must be a pretty good place. unfortunately I was wrong. My family started out with the spicy queso which was very bland and tasted like cheese you'd get at a gas station on some chips. the Guacamole had absolutely no salt was was fine I just added salt to it. everything was very bland. the ribeye fajitas had absolutely no seasoning and was tasteless. The food was mediocre, that's the main reason for 2 stars. Secondly, we requested chopped onion on our entrees. We were charged $4 extra for a couple of spoons full of chopped onion. Our son requested extra sliced jalepeno. He was charged $2 for a few extra slices. Neither of these extra charges were mentioned when requested. Just added to the check. Very poor way to operate. We just received our delivery order. This was the first and the last time ordering here. The portion sizes were small compared with the price paid. The fish tacos tasted spoiled. My daughter couldn't eat them. The guacamole had no taste. They got our order wrong not giving rice and beans as specified. Finally, we ordered a non alcoholic drink but was delivered a drink with alcohol. It had a tape on it stating alcoholic drink. No ID had been provided. Don't go here. Chicken soup had plenty of chicken, some chips and watery broth but not much else. The soapapillas were awful. Came from a box, not fresh. We're dry and tasted old. We were so disappointed and should have complained then. Service was just average. The best things were the warm chips and salsa when you sit down. Good solid Tex-Mex place. I've been here several times and haven't had any issues. I like it because of their patio area. Just good to sit out there when the weather feels nice. The food is good. Let's just say we won big at the casino... I got to treat my family too somthing nice. Let's start off with the drinks.. my big uncle T said the nice big cold beer slid down his wet throat nicely. I personally got a Sherly temple and let's just say not enough flavor as my liking but I can get over that... now Mimi on the other hand had to pound 4 margaritas because man oh man can she catch a break from G pa. To begin, we have always loved mannys, we go and spend a lot of money here. New bartender and new server I'm guessing because we have never been treated this way- we left our table and went to the bar to have one more drink @7pm. We were cut off - but the funny part was one of our friends at our table was given a drink and the rest of us were cut off... makes no sense. For reference, my order was literally side orders of rice and beans, something that should be very easy to put together, but my order wasn't even ready for pickup for over an hour. Yum! Came here for Christmas Eve dinner and had a lovely experience. We sat outside and our server was super friendly. The patio is nice and the interior was clean too. This is a nice little addition to He Happy hour was from 2-6 pm so we got some discounted frozen margaritas. Both the mango and strawberry were delicious and boy were we feeling them. We started with table side guac and Queso which were both delicious. The guac clearly had super fresh ingredients and nice chunks of cilantro and jalapeño. Love the patio here! I usually go around 2:30 and there is little crowd at that time. Lunch menu until 4 pm (I believe!) Not OVERLY huge portions like most Mex places and I appreciate that. Heath finally has a few legit dinner options; locals don't have to brave the traffic to eat in Rockwall or Dallas. Low-key strip-front location by Tom Thumb, but Manny's still has a nice patio as well! If you come for dinner, there will be a wait! But you can sit & drink at the bar, so your time won't be wasted. They have a few intetesting Margarita oprions, but my wife didn't care for the Pineapple Margrita. But we loved the Uptown Queso & chips!! My Enchiladas Arracherrios was also fantastic! Dear Most High, Why do you allow eateries like Manny's Uptown Tex-Mex stride into my life with NO RHYME OR REASON and deliver exceptional food that isn't the kindest to my arteries and/or digestive system? Why did the bean soup bring my spouse more joy than my 8-hour slow-cooker chili beans? Why did the Marisa Rita knock the edge off just right without me sloppily stumbling out the door? The Manny's and Cowboy's tacos (spicy) were a hit and must be HAD whenever the heart desires.....I JUST.... CAN'T TAKE IT! MYSTERY MEAT ON MY CHICKEN NACHOS?????????? I AM SO DISGUSTED!!!!!! I AM PREGNANT... THIS IS NOT OKAY!!!!!!!!!!! My fiancé and I took our food to go and when we got home I noticed the color of my chicken looked off so I began to peel the cheese back from all of the nachos. I'm personally not a fan, I've had better but I've also had worse and that's pretty much the only reason I gave them three stars. The food didn't necessarily taste bad but was bland for the most part with only a few exceptions and all of our food was cold/Room temperature. the chicken for the chicken adobo tacos was dried out, we paid $11 for a full order of bean and cheese nachos and got 7 chips with bean and cheese, For $11 they could have included some sour cream or a splash of guacamole, something to make it worth $11. Hell a half order cost $8 and half of 7 is 3.5 so I can't even imagine the profit margins on that. The highlight of the meal was a crispy taco and the sauces that were on the enchiladas were ok. They were busy on the night that we dined in so the lack of quality control could be due to that factor and we do plan on giving this place one more try on a weekday when they're not so overwhelmed. With that said there are some things they could do to make the overall experience better including increasing the Number of chips on their full order of nachos to at least 11 which would be $1 a chip, I mean come on beans, cheese, chips, none of these things are expensive enough to justify $11 for 7 of them. they could give you 11 and still make a profit. *Poor *Decent *Good *great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Lots of parking, lots of tables and good service. We went here on a Saturday night at 730pm. We were sat right away. There is an option to sit outside, at the bar or inside. We started with the brisket sliders. They were really good. You get 3 sliders and fries. I got the shrimp tacos and my husband got sunset fajitas. Everything was really good. My husband loved the chicken. We finished with the tres leches cake. It was good but not the best I've ever had. We have about 5 drinks and they were all good and strong. We ate here on Easter. We were just out cruising near Lake Ray Hubbard and stopped off. The food was perfection - if you love yummy TexMex - which we do! There were not a ton of people and we received everything we ordered in perfect time. We just moved to Rowlett so we are super excited to find Manny's nearby.
