Just had these guys install a whole new HVAC system and electrical panel, and they were great. They gave me a very reasonable price, were able to install the equipment quickly and appropriately, and they installed quality equipment (Trane and Square D in my case). I recommend them highly. read more

We are very pleased with Mannix and the product we bought, a Mitsubishi mini-split, has been great. Highly recommend them. And Eric does a great job as their sales guy and coordinator of follow up service. read more

Mannix Heating and Cooling recently installed a gas line for us (from our basement to the first floor kitchen) for our soon to be newly installed gas range top. The workers were clean and polite and waited in front of our home at 7:15 a.m. for their 8:00 a.m. appointment. They finished the job and showed the entire work to me. What is the greatest thing about this company, is that they are reputable, and they are less than 1/2 the price of Cardinal Gas. read more

My husband and I used Mannix recently to replace the air conditioning unit and furnace on the main level of our house and were very pleased with their service and follow-up. We've dealt with several other area HVAC companies for installations, repairs and maintenance contracts over the last 10 years or so and eventually became disillusioned with all of them for one reason or another -- the repairs weren't done correctly, the maintenance contracts never seemed to cover the necessary repairs, they didn't show up as promised for the semi-annual service checks, etc. During our June service check with another company, the technician came inside and told me that our a/c unit was completely out of refrigerant and needed to be replaced then he tried to pressure me into signing a contract that day for $7,500. I told him absolutely not and that I would have to discuss it with my husband first. He then told me that they are very busy this time of year so there was no guarantee they'd be able to do the work anytime soon unless I committed to it that day. This was after the same technician had complained to me about what a terrible company it is to work for, how they are slave drivers and had him on the road until 10:00 the previous night, etc. After discussing this situation with my husband that evening, we decided to comparison shop so he called several other companies, including Mannix, to come out and give an estimate. Jerry was the first to respond so he checked the a/c unit then took the time to sit with us and give his recommendations. We didn't realize until then that he is the president of the company and we both were impressed with his straightforward and honest approach. After receiving several estimates for replacing both the a/c unit and furnace, we went back to Jerry and asked if he could reduce his price and he agreed so they did the work last week and we are very happy with our decision. Jerry even called us afterwards to make sure that everything had gone well and that we were pleased with the guys who did the installation. We would definitely recommend Mannix to anyone. read more

These guys really know what they are doing! And the owner is a hands on guy and someone who still portrays great honesty and integrity! I can not recommend this company enough!! When our AC started blowing out warm air on the first hot day of the year, we panicked. But the staff at Mannix came by the same day we called and gave us a full education on the different options for our needs. My husband called three other companies for quotes and all were significantly higher then Mannix. Also, the technician at Mannix suggested a simple change to our air intake duct that significantly improved the temperature on the second level of the home and didn't even charge us for that change. They installed our new unit quickly and professionally. We have been pleased with every aspect of their service and no other vendor we looked at could beat their price or their warranty. read more

A challenge most consumers face, when trying to find a company to handle repair work, is questioning whether we're being given a fair deal on the services or product provided. As a woman, I think we often feel the odds are less (whether that's based on fact or perception is debatable). I found myself in the common but frustrating position of needing my water heater replaced for my small condo. The tank I had was essentially a dinosaur (about 20 years old and well past its expected expiration date) I woke up to find I had no hot water this weekend and knew that my corroding tank had become a ticking time bomb. I gave Mannix a call and explained my situation -- conveying that I needed it replaced asap (I now worried that I'd waited too long to bear the burden of replacement costs and envisioned any minute the bottom would drop out and I'd be facing insurance claims for the condo unit beneath me). The whole Mannix team was so friendly and professional - from the office staff member who took my call, to the service technician and the Install team-- I was very impressed with their customer service skills!! The technician Hal happened to be nearby and came to evaluate my needs within 30 minutes of placing the first call to their office. He was straightforward and honest with what size/type tank would meet my needs and advised that pricier heaters would most likely mean paying for "extra fluff" which I didn't need for my small 1 bed/1bath space. I appreciated his advice and honesty. He followed up with a phone call after leaving to let me know the status of how quickly I could expect someone to install my new water heater -- doing his best to provide the soonest appointment available. Through very fortunate circumstances in timing, Mannix was able to send an install team to my place less than an hour later (I had been prepared to wait until at least the next morning) . The installers Matt and Billy were polite and very tidy with their work (drop cloths and shoes taken off in order to not dirty my white carpet). Talk about efficient! They got to work right away draining my old tank while they waited for someone else to deliver my new water heater. They had it installed and cleaned up within about 2 hours. I couldn't be happier with how well Mannix took care of everything. I highly recommend them and feel confident they provide honest and quality work. read more

Have a maintenance agreement with them and they installed a new HVAC system. They are on time, clean and courteous folks. Not the cheapest or most expensive. Glad they don't try to upsell me everytime they come to the house like some companies do. read more

Very pleased with customer service staff and especially the service tech AJ. Scheduling and coordinating the visit was too easy. Ashley called and said the tech would arrive in 30-45 minutes. That happened. AJ could not have been nicer. Friendly, experienced, and above all trustworthy. All around 5-Star experience. I "definitely would" recommend to my friends and family. read more

I used Mannix to replace my 29 year old HVAC unit in 2014. The installers played loud music on the balcony and within 36 hours of the new HVAC unit being installed the carbon monoxide detector started going off. They returned and corrected the issue. The unit just turned 3 this month and again the carbon monoxide alarm went off. This time the heat exchanger and gas valve were replaced. The catch...the parts are under warranty but Mannix only provides a 1 year labor warranty so I was just billed $99.95 for them to LOOK at a warranty issue and then an additional $875 for the labor for them to replace the part under warranty. Bear in mind the entire unit new and installed cost $5k and at year 3 I'm putting in nearly $1k more on a warranty issue. I would recommend that anyone shopping for a HVAC unit look elsewhere and seek a company that has a better labor warranty in lieu of a company that gauges you on labor costs when a warranty issue arises. I personally believe that this failure stems back to sloppy installation and the initial carbon monoxide alarm I had within 36 hours of its install. It is not normal that a heat exchanger crack/failure would occur in a lightly used and maintained HVAC unit at 3 years of age. read more

had a issue with my furnace short cycling. paid the $100 diagnostic and was told the issue was with my digital thermostat. I was charged $135 for a thermostat that retails for $46. 150% percent markup on a part is just simply wrong read more

Reasonable price for initial installation work but their warranty period is short and after the warranty expires expect to pay high prices for repairs. Products due not last reliably. read more

Mannix installed our AC/furnace about five years ago. Every time I have the system serviced a major problem is discovered that makes me wonder why mannix is still in business. First I found out they didn't get the gas lines inspected. Mannix had a million excuses for this. Second, the overhead pipes weren't taped into placed, and they fell down,. Mannix said not my fault. Then the drain from the AC was discovered to be loose, a trained installer actually glues it in place before you get two feet of water in basement. Mannix said not my fault. Then my new service company looked at the humidifier and saw that it wasn't wired correctly. It hadn't worked for over five years, and was actually just leaking backing into the system. Totally wrong. Whoever installed it was a moron, and cetainly not quailed at their job. Guess what Jerry Mannix said: not my fault. read more

My electrical engineer executive husband selected Mannix to replace our aged heating and cooling system. I witnesses its installation by seasoned professionals. Mannix scheduled an appointment for my AC unit service next day; technician arrived on time and after diagnosis he found out that the capacitor on the unit was bad. Most ridiculous thing was that for replacement of that capacitor I was quoted 1000% markup of the actual cost of the item which is added on top of the service call fee. Since it was emergency in the middle of a summer heat I went ahead and paid for this rip-off but I won't be using their service anymore. read more

This was the tenth place I called to obtain an estimate to install a whole house humidifier, but it should have been the first! I was loosing hope until I spoke with Celeste, who was not only friendly but she answered all my questions and concerns!! A free estimate was scheduled and the price was very reasonable. Jorge explained everything in detail. It took approximately 2 hours to complete the installation. The tech was professional and left the area clean. It is extremely difficult these days to find a company and it's employees that can provide quality customer and professional service, and display a genuine pride in their job. Base on my experience with Mannix, I intend to use and recommend them for future jobs! read more

The HVAC tech (Brian - hard not to forget) was spot on with trouble shooting the issue which turned out to be a bad circuit board with our furnace. As it was not allowing out pilot to cut back on once temps were reached (without being manually re-piloted). He was extremely knowledgeable (as one should - right?) and explained all the parts within the unit and answered all my questions. I feel like I've gain some knowledge on furnaces after talking with him. Mannix was in constant communication from the very beginning and during the call while Brian had to run to another service call while the part was being ordered/delivered by one of his associate. Once the part was delivered the tech said Brian was on his way back (which wasn't long after that). Install was quick and our furnace is back online just in time for another cold night. I am extremely pleased with the over all service - I will definitely give them a call again should I ever have to. read more

They are AWESOME! Mannixx installed my new system 4 years ago. They stay on top of the maintenance schedule to make sure that you get the service you pay for each year. And last night when the air went out during the most oppressive week of the summer so far, I got a return call to try to troubleshoot the problem at 11 pm and was able to get service quickly this morning. Service is always friendly and professional from office staff to techs, but today they went above and beyond, for which I am so grateful. Everything was covered under warranty too, a major bonus! Really can't recommend them highly enough for install or repair. read more

Pretty good courteous service. Get to the root of the problem. Rate might seem a bit high initially, but when you start looking at the details, its close to what other plumbers offer and may be a bit cheaper. You also get great customer service and assurance that the work is guaranteed and they will come back and resolve if there are any issues. read more

We have used Mannix for several years in maintaining our HVAC systems. They are always honest and professional. A few years ago we tried them for the first time. The rep checked our outside AC fan and realized it needed a serious cleaning. There was an additional charge for this service however it was well worth it. After the outside fan unit was professionally cleaned out our system worked a million times better. There was a serious change in how much cooler the house got and I believe it made our system more efficient, saving us tons of money on electric bills. I would highly recommend this company. read more

Great company. Signed up for the seasonal maintenance contract. The tech who came out (if I remember correctly his name was Ron) arrived on time, was very polite, professional and got right to work and all was well. Weeks later, the compressor suddenly stopped working. I called for an appt, and another tech (Dave) came out later in the day. Apparently a storm we had the night before blew a fuse which he detected right away. He replaced it, checked connections, amps, etc and went on his way with no charge to us because they had just been out to service the unit a few weeks before. What an honest guy!! I believe this reflects the company's standards. I've lived in NOVA since 1996 and have had my share of HVAC companies and by far this is the most professional and honest one that I've come across. Would highly recommend them. read more

Be ware of this Mannix Heating & Cooling company for installing and maintenance services. Cause they installed my air handler coil where now it's impossible for cleaning. And for the 2 yrs that we had contract for maintenance their tech did nothing except measuring the temp. It is hard to find company that will do the right things now and day. Taking advantage of people ignorant in their specialty. read more

After having two HVAC techs from separate companies out to diagnose our furnace issues, my girlfriend looked on here and found Mannix. She emailed him, received an email and follow up call from Jerry Mannix right away. Upon asking how much it would cost to come out, Jerry said there would be no service fee or "trip charge" if he came and was unable to fix the problem. Jerry came out, looked at our furnace, and knew right away it could be two issues. He quickly narrowed it down to the root cause, and explained both how the system should work, and why it wasn't working properly. Jerry was VERY knowledgable, and was much more polite, courteous, professional (he even wore boot covers while inside our house that he removed and replaced when he came in and out) and fair on price than one would expect. We were extremely pleased with Jerry and the superior service he provided, and will have his card handy for any future issues of our own, as well as to hand out to friends and family. read more
