I recently went to Manic Motors in Tracy to look at a 2018 Tesla Model 3, and unfortunately, my experience raised several serious concerns about the accuracy of the information I was being given and the overall professionalism of the dealership. I went in specifically to look at a 2018 Tesla Model 3. While I was there, I was provided with a Carfax report that was supposedly for the vehicle I was considering. However, after comparing the information on the report to the actual vehicle I was test driving, I realized that the Carfax provided was for a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range with approximately 67,000 miles, while the vehicle I was actually looking at was a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Mid Range with approximately 92,000 miles. That is a major difference, and it immediately made me question the accuracy of the information I was being given. I was essentially being shown the history and information for a different vehicle while discussing the purchase of the Tesla I had actually come to see. I asked for an updated and accurate Carfax report for the specific vehicle I was interested in, but they were unable to provide one. Even more concerning, there appeared to be very little or no vehicle history available after 2018, which made me extremely uncomfortable considering the mileage and age of the Tesla. When you're considering spending close to $20,000 on a used vehicle, having accurate and complete information about the vehicle's history is extremely important. I was dealing with a salesman named Nick, and unfortunately, he was unable to answer many of my basic questions about the vehicle himself. For almost every question I asked, he had to leave and speak with his manager before coming back with an answer. I understand that salespeople don't know every single detail about every vehicle on the lot, but combined with the incorrect Carfax information and lack of vehicle history, it made the entire experience feel very questionable. The pricing conversation was also frustrating. Nick initially told me he could sell the vehicle for around $19,000, and then showed me a Carfax/value report for a different vehicle, presenting it as though it supported the price of the Tesla I was looking at. When I questioned the price and explained that $17,500 was already too high for me given that they couldn't provide accurate information or a reliable vehicle history, his attitude became noticeably rude and offended. My concern wasn't simply about trying to negotiate a lower price. I was asking reasonable questions because I wanted to know exactly what I would be purchasing. If you're asking a customer to spend nearly $20,000 on a used Tesla, I don't think it's unreasonable for that customer to expect the dealership to provide the correct vehicle history and accurate documentation for the exact car being sold. The biggest issue for me was the combination of: Being given a Carfax report for a different Tesla than the one I was actually test driving. The mileage and trim on the Carfax not matching the actual vehicle. Not being provided with an updated Carfax for the specific vehicle. Very limited vehicle history available beyond 2018. Not receiving clear answers to basic questions about the vehicle. Being shown valuation information for a different vehicle during the pricing discussion. Feeling like my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. The salesperson becoming rude and defensive when I questioned the price and documentation. Buying a used car already requires a significant amount of trust between the customer and dealership. When the paperwork and information you're given don't match the vehicle sitting in front of you, that trust disappears very quickly. I ultimately decided not to purchase the vehicle, and after this experience, I would not recommend Manic Motors to anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle, especially if you're relying on the dealership to provide accurate information about the vehicle's history and condition. I strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing from this dealership do their own research, independently run the VIN, obtain their own vehicle history report, verify the mileage and trim, and have the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic before agreeing to anything. For me, the lack of transparency and the way my concerns were handled were enough to walk away. I would rather spend more time finding a dealership I can trust than risk spending nearly $20,000 on a vehicle when I can't even get accurate information about its history. read more

The staff here are amazing and I can't thank them enough. Huge shout out to Caleb for making my dreams come true and being SO patient with me. You guys are awesome. My only complaint is that after I bought the car I did have to spent about $900 in parts (plus several hours of my own labor) on Intercooler hoses, alternator, and belt tensioner within the first week. But after that, the truck was solid. I had an idea while I was checking out the engine bay but I didn't realize I'd have to immediately drop that much money. **Day2 It's very telling that instead of resolving this matter privately and professionally, Rick, the owner of Manic Motors, decided to take over my review and publicly "defend" the dealership. In my original post, I included copies of my email communication with Brock, showing every attempt I made to handle this situation respectfully and directly. Rather than acknowledge those facts or take accountability, Rick chose to respond publicly with excuses and half-truths, which only makes the business look unprofessional and defensive. A reputable dealership would have apologized and followed through on its promises instead of trying to argue with a customer online. His public response doesn't solve anything, it only proves how unwilling Manic Motors is to take responsibility or do what's right. After seeing Rick's public comment trying to "resolve" my complaint, I want to make the facts clear. You have had possession of the vehicle since August 20, 2025, after it suffered a complete engine failure only a few weeks after purchase. The engine seized due to no oil/ low oil pressure caused by a spun piston, which was diagnosed by your own mechanic. Despite that finding, no repairs were ever completed, and the vehicle has remained in your possession. You also initiated and completed a loan buy-back with Westlake Financial without my knowledge or consent. I discovered this only after contacting Westlake directly. Even after that cancellation, you have continued to withhold my down payment and now publicly admit that you are conditioning its return on me signing a "hold harmless" or release agreement. To be clear, I have never refused resolution. I've simply refused to sign away my legal rights or accept terms that are neither lawful nor ethical. I have already filed formal complaints with the California DMV Investigations Division, the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and the Better Business Bureau, who are now reviewing your handling of this transaction. I stand by my experience and the facts. I hope this situation serves as a reminder that consumers have rights and deserve to be treated with honesty, respect, and fairness. Day 2 for Yelp. We purchased a 2010 Maxima from Manic Motors. I am fully aware that buying an older vehicle would need some care, but in this case the amount that was needed was nearly the price of what we paid for the car. The Salesmen and the mechanic all told us that the car was fine, it was not. The Mechanic would said "he couldn't say too much" when I asked about an engine squeal. Turns out that after paying ~$5000 I had another $4000 in repairs that were needed just to make the car safe to drive. When I took the car to my mechanic, whom I have know for 20 years, I was told that error codes were reset before it was sold to me, a hose was disconnected, there were multiple leaks in gaskets, and other various mechanical issues. This dealership seems to be okay selling problem vehicles to customers. They also "add" and anti-theft deterrent as part of their package which marks-up the price by $500, likely most of it is profit. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND caution when buying a vehicle here. Bring your own mechanic with you to check out the cars. Do not trust, but verify what you are being told. I waited, heard nothing, and called back three days later only to find out they already sold it.I decided to give them another chance recently when a Model X caught my attention. Once again, they posted the vehicle with zero photos online and it wasn't ready for pickup. I requested pictures and finally received an email with them. I was told explicitly it would be ready for pickup in two days. Two days passed with absolutely no callback. When I followed up, of course, that vehicle was sold too--and they never even bothered to add the pictures to the online listing.They constantly post vehicles they don't actually have ready just to string you along, and their communication is non-existent. Sold me a truck and warranty. Specifically told me to buy the warranty that covered the turbos. 4 months later, the truck needs a turbo and probably did since they sold it. Understand that this is a used car lot. But after looking at several cars, the newest being a 2019, they all seem to have some sort of issue that they claimed they were going to be fixing the next couple of days. Two of the cars have been on the lot for quite a while. Bummer, pushy sales people insisting on running credit even when told we had cash, three of them went to another room to discuss what kind of deal we can make without even talking to us first. By far one of the best dealerships to go to! We got an amazing deal on our mini van, all the while greeted with awesome customer service. My Hubby and I went to 14 average to below par car dealerships. Shopping with our 3 kids was quite the challenge, but the staff at Global Auto Sales made our toddler, young boy, and infant comfortable.
