Garlic knots and dipping sauce

I ordered garlic knots to go and was unhappily surprised by the color. They are a hair's breadth from being burnt and taste like it. I usually like what I have ordered from this place but this time I am not impressed.

I always like to try out new pizza places that I don't have around home but I wish I had just gotten dominos or papa johns. The pizza is just not very good. The cheese is like rubber and super chewy but at least the employees were nice! I'd give it a 2.5 star if I could but it doesn't deserve a 3.

I go here about twice a month for their Grilled Chicken Garden Salad ($13 with drink & tax), which is always different and always tastes delicious. I may have twice as much chicken on one order than I had on an order of mine two weeks earlier. I am always interested in see what I will receive on my next order. I also believe they have some of the best pizzas in town, it they don't burn the pizza crust. My favorite pizza is from Joe & Vinnie's in Warrenton but that is a totally different review. Orders (I'm back to Manhattan) are promptly served and wait staff/servers are very friendly and helpful. I keep going back to Manhattan because I'm a fan and sometimes I like to eat in at a table near a drink machine.

The Balboa steak sandwich is incredible. I got my first a week and half ago. I want to get one everyday.

Food was really good, service wasn't bad but it was a little pricey I feel. Might go back but wouldn't be my first choice.

The Chicago thing was almost too thin but still good flavor We had the pepperoni with the deteoit Detroit.Margherita with the Chicago thing And changed pepperoni with sausage and jalapeño pizza They have sodas but not your regular soda. I did not try them nd opted for water. They have a beer but only one kind. I believe a pilsner. Not a lit of seating but on a quiet day no problem finding seating. Will be back

One of them, at least, does, in the form of this pizzeria. I ordered online and it was ready about when they said it would be. Notably, they close early on Sundays so I just got in there. They have indoor seating, but I ate a bit at one of the numerous tables for other businesses in this stretch and took the rest to go. Their interpretation of a margherita didn't wow me. As the picture will show, it seemed to be like 30% crust. And the NY style pizza is actually an upcharge from the other varieties. Don't get me wrong, the toppings and crust were overall of high quality, but it wasn't a filling pizza for the price at all, and I didn't have anything to do with all that extra crust except try to fold it over. Wished I'd brought some hummus or something. The pizza I really came for, however, was a Detroit style pizza, of which I ordered as a veggie special. The vegetables were ample but didn't overwhelm, and the crust for this pizza was more substantial. The browned edge of cheese that one comes to this style for was present in spades. It's hard to believe it actually costs less than the NY style, because it was much better. Their other options included some drinks, though I suspect many will patronize the next door brewery for beverages and some bread appetizers and only one salad; nothing that really enchanted me. So, a real mixed evaluation from my perspective. The right pizza order can be quite good, I'll say that.

I'm usually not a white wine drinker, but my fiancé ordered a glass of Terre d'Abruzzo Pecorino, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was incredibly crisp, bright, and refreshing--one of the rare white wines I'd happily order myself. For dinner, we had the Il Misto in garlic sauce and the Linguini Vongole in garlic sauce. A fun touch was that they come around with freshly grated Parmesan and will keep sprinkling it until you tell them to stop. The Il Misto was loaded with a generous variety of seafood, and the garlic sauce leaned creamy without feeling too heavy. The Linguini Vongole was equally enjoyable--the clams tasted fresh with a pleasantly briny flavor that wasn't overly "fishy," and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Overall, this was a satisfying Italian dinner with quality seafood, attentive little touches, and a wine that unexpectedly won me over. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I wish that San Marzano sauce was on those balls, though! The atmosphere was more "Italian diner" than "nice restaurant", but the food was good enough to please everyone. Tables were kinda jammed together. Service was great though as the waitress was always stopping by to see what else we needed for our meals. Our table got a bit crowded for 3 of us, but that's probably because we're pigs.

I'm also a big fan of prosciutto and arugula pizzas, and Licorice Pizza's version is my favorite. Somehow all the ingredients are arranged thoughtfully so the whole pizza can be eaten bite by bite, rather than getting large pieces of prosciutto or arugula that slide off. A drizzle of oil makes all the flavors shine. We were taken care of by Cheyenne, who did her best by us despite it clearly being a busy night. I appreciated her checking on the pizzas for us unasked when they took a little longer to arrive. She also had a great sense of humor that delighted our whole table. Despite the record-themed decor, something about the ambiance does seem lacking, although maybe I'm just remembering the way the Black Bear looked when I visited in the past. That's worth overlooking for such delicious pizzas. The daily specials and happy hour deals are worth looking into when planning a visit, too. Last thing I want to mention, I came here with my parents, who tend to get cagey at "hip" places, especially at bar areas that can get a little loud. They were totally on board with everything, and as locals I expect to hear them come back soon for more pizza.

After hours running up and down the parade route, I noticed lots of people constantly going in and out of Licorice Pizza, and decided that was my goal for Post-Parade dinner. There was booming music playing as we entered, and our server met us at the table we selected to get us oriented. She was very personable, brought menus, and was attentive as we worked through our long overdue desire for food and drink. The drink menu wasn't huge, but had a nice, safe selection of beer and some festive holiday drinks. For food, lots of appetizers and mains, but we focused on their tasty-sounding pizzas as calzones. Our beer, cocktails, and pizzas came out quickly. Hot. Delicious. Our server checked in frequently and was very high energy. Cute place with solid food and drink choices as you take a break from shopping on Main Street.
