Some of the best specialty pizzas I've had! The Three Little Pigs in particular had a great, layered flavor, where all the ingredients worked well together. I'm also a big fan of prosciutto and arugula pizzas, and Licorice Pizza's version is my favorite. Somehow all the ingredients are arranged thoughtfully so the whole pizza can be eaten bite by bite, rather than getting large pieces of prosciutto or arugula that slide off. A drizzle of oil makes all the flavors shine. We were taken care of by Cheyenne, who did her best by us despite it clearly being a busy night. I appreciated her checking on the pizzas for us unasked when they took a little longer to arrive. She also had a great sense of humor that delighted our whole table. Despite the record-themed decor, something about the ambiance does seem lacking, although maybe I'm just remembering the way the Black Bear looked when I visited in the past. That's worth overlooking for such delicious pizzas. The daily specials and happy hour deals are worth looking into when planning a visit, too. Last thing I want to mention, I came here with my parents, who tend to get cagey at "hip" places, especially at bar areas that can get a little loud. I had the fantastic opportunity to pop into Licorice Pizza this evening after spending the day in the cold, snowy weather volunteering with the Warrenton Christmas Parade. After hours running up and down the parade route, I noticed lots of people constantly going in and out of Licorice Pizza, and decided that was my goal for Post-Parade dinner. There was booming music playing as we entered, and our server met us at the table we selected to get us oriented. She was very personable, brought menus, and was attentive as we worked through our long overdue desire for food and drink. The drink menu wasn't huge, but had a nice, safe selection of beer and some festive holiday drinks. For food, lots of appetizers and mains, but we focused on their tasty-sounding pizzas as calzones. Our beer, cocktails, and pizzas came out quickly. Hot. Delicious. Our server checked in frequently and was very high energy. Dining in side or out, the music plays quietly in the background, mostly 80's. We stopped in for a quick bite. Everyone raved about the Texas twinkies...why? I was not impressed. If I eat Jalapeño anything I want heat. Wrapping them in bacon and covering them in honey give them great taste but you can wrap a green pepper and get the same result. The Proud Bloody Mary, all of the "fixins" were great from the crispy wings, boiled shrimp, chicken slider, pickles and the sweet crab. The problem is the Bloody Mary. The taste is horrible, it needs horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco , celery salt, maybe a splash of clam juice and a lemon wedge. It tasted like it came out of a v-8 can and had a splash of vodka added. This place has potential and there are other items I want to try to boost my rating for them. Service wise, I had to ask for a glass of water three times, and by the time someone checked to see if we needed anything else we had to leave for our appointment. read more

Visited on a Saturday for late lunch, and were seated immediately. Hostess and wait staff were welcoming and attentive. The menu is so good with many different items and specials that would accommodate all parties' preferences. We enjoyed the Snoop Dog (ample portion!), and pepperoni pizza with a house salad. Expected a fairly plain house salad and was pleasantly surprised to receive a salad filled with so many good toppings and veggies, including pepperoncini and olives. We'll be back! read more

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. My meatball arrived raw, the calzone was burnt, and the tuna ordered rare came out well done. The restaurant was also out of multiple menu items. We had to ask several times for silverware and steak knives, and there was no manager available to address any of the issues. To make matters worse, the raw meatball that I sent back was still on the bill. The only bright spot was our server, who spent most of the meal apologizing for problems that she clearly had no control over. Save your money and dine elsewhere. read more

On separate occasions I've tried a couple of their offerings. One was mac and cheese, the other was a pepperoni pizza. Neither item had any flavor whatsoever. I can't imagine blander food. You think maybe the pizza would have a touch of garlic a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, or something, but no. Even the cheese just was flavorless. We went twice in two days, once for dinner with friends and once for lunch with kids. Both experiences were awesome! The service was great and the food was great. We had the Texas Twinkies both times because they're THAT good. I had the Santa Fe and the Hatch Chili Burger, both were good. My husband had the Mr. Armstrong and the Snoop Dog. Our friend had the wings and the chicken tenders meal in the photos is off the kids menu. The dogs and burgers are locally sourced from Whiffletree Farm, which I love. Fabulous!!! We stopped in for lunch yesterday. The homemade French onion dip and chips are exactly what you'd hope for. A super fresh version of an old classic. The pickle pizza was intriguing so we had to try it and I'm so glad we did!! I have a new favorite pizza! Yesterday traveling down 66 west in traffic i was hungry and needed a drink. I turned off the exit for warrenton. As i traveled i closer i approached a bunch of restaurants. The name licorice pizza caught me. I noticed outside it was very busy. I wanted to sit down inside have a drink and eat. I was greeted by a very friendly and pleasant female bartender. I was in the mood for a different drink. I asked what she would recommed. She said i will make a drink. It was fantastic. I then asked what would recommend for food. She said try the burger. It was amazing. Had a few more drinks (all excellent) the bartender was funny and enjoyed her banter. My only regret i forget her name. I have to go back soon. We ate here for the 3rd and final time tonight. Service is good and staff is friendly but the food is terrible. I don't understand all of the 5 star reviews. Brisket = leathery and tough. Cheesesteaks = like if McDonald's made cheesesteaks. Italian = covered in a revoltingly sweet sauce. Ranch dressing = watery and zero flavor. Margarita pizza = 6 quarter sized pieces of cheese max. This place really has potential but they're not putting forth any effort. Hopefully it closes soon and another restaurant can give it a shot. read more

Love the service and food here, especially the buffalo chicken pizza. I would recommend the restaurant use higher quality hoagie sandwich bread, like a fresh sesame seed baguette (or baked fresh in the morning). Also, would recommend using premium chicken parmesan for that hoagie that are a bit thicker with fresh red sauce (think New York City style). We've been to this place three times hoping the service would improve but this weekend was terrible. The music was too loud. We waited 40 minutes for our waiter to take our order. Drinks came but stayed empty and not refilled for another 30 minutes. There are 6 of us. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes from start to finish. We had 6 paper thin napkins and they never brought us extras when we got our pizza. We had to get up and ask our waiter for the check and boxes because he never came back to our table after the food came. read more

Really good, only they added tomato and lettuce - not sure why. The restaurant is loud - the ambiance wasn't really conducive to conversation. Tables near the front are definitely better. And, the big screen TV over the bar with football was kind of a turn off - I actually overheard other patrons saying they hate football. Service was lackadaisical - slow to show us to our table, to ask us for our order, to ask us if we needed anything else- like drinks, etc. And allow plenty of time for your food - this is not fast food. Looking at the orders of other guests, I would like to try more entrees, and the aromas were amazing. I will definitely recommend this place, with conditions, and I will be trying it again. We went to try this new place for lunch. We both got the pizza and salad lunch special. The pizza was a nice size for 6", and the salad and dressings were good. My father thought the cheese pizza was a little bland, but with Parmesan on top it was better. I also ordered the brisket nachos, and was very disappointed. The menu reads that the nachos come with brisket, however after I got the bill it was $6 extra, and there was not very much brisket on them, and not enough cheese and hardly any sour cream. The sour cream was just squirted a little on top/side and then one smaller spot on the plate. The brisket had a great flavor, but there wasn't even enough brisket that would make a sandwich ,and for charging $6 on top of the $12.50. Is not right. They should have more chips, more cheese and definitely more brisket for the price. read more

Neat venue on Main Street in old town Warrenton. Seated immediately in a basement dining room with 5 tables. Cool field stone walls and fireplace. Servers were very friendly. I ordered the Greek salad and pepperoni and Mac and cheese which were very yummy. Menu had a wide variety of pizzas to choose from. Venue has a wide variety of seating locations including outside on sidewalk, inside bar room, basement, and back basement with windows. Noise level was quiet enough to hold a quiet conversation despite the eighties rock music. The Saturday night live decorations clashed with the cool stone English pub architecture and furniture. Service team did their best but must have a long walk to the kitchen. Side salad, Mac and cheese, and coke came to $30.00. I will definitely be back to try a pizza. read more
