I'm been back to Azteca several times over the last year and have had various dishes from the volcano mochahete, tacos, Jalisco burrito, rellenos and everything is on point. My most recent visit was a challenge, the waitress didn't have great language skills. I asked her about "how is the pozole?" He response was "one pozole", "no, how is the pozole? You want pozole?" So I settled for the burrito! The waitress was inexperienced, and limited in her communication skills, but ok for today. She wasn't good about checking back w/us throughout the meal either and we waited for 10 mins after requesting the check. read more

Overall this place was very busy (cinco de mayo) but the servers were attentive and sat most parties quickly. The food was good! Chimichangas and a fajita quesdillla. I understand they were busy but I was disappointed that my margarita came in a plastic cup instead of the cute glassware seen in other photos. Walked in and we were greeted by the host. Seated pretty quickly but then again it was Monday @5 pm. We were served the chips n salsa. The chips were semi stale. We ordered the 2 chimichangas beef/chicken platter and the fajitas (beef,chicken and shrimp). It was very good on both meals. They only give three tortillas shells and of course that's not enough for the size we received of the fajitas. So we asked for more and were charged 1.98 for three more. Overall nice meal. Haven't even tried the food yet - other than some Chips and Salsa but the Bartender on a Friday night was awful. We walked in and sat at a nearly empty bar (maybe 2-3 other people). The bartender didn't greet us, say anything, or even look at us. Another staff member brought some chips/salsa but when we asked to order a drink he pointed at the "bartender". It took almost 10 minutes for the bartender to come over and take our order- he moved at a nearly glacial pace. For a DC priced cocktail the drink mix didn't use the "fresh" juice the menu claimed it did. The host was friendly and nice, no issues with other staff. Looked clean- it's too bad. read more

Expensive for very average food. Beware they do not put the prices on the drink menu! I was shocked my margarita was $14 and not top shelf! My bill was over $50 for one person I could have eaten at a higher end restaurant with a nice ambience for that amount. read more

Have been wanting to try this place out since it was converted from an old Denny's. We stopped in for an early lunch today and were pleasantly surprised how nice it was inside. The decor is something else and you would never know what it used to be. We were immediately seated and chips and salsa were brought to the table. We decided on something from the lunch menu and went with a taco salad and a brunch burrito. The food came out really quick and the service was great as we had multiple servers checking on us and bringing us refills. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Update: I stand corrected. Thank you to another Yelper for letting me know that the Comfort Inn is located at the top of the hill and this location used to be a Denny's. So this restaurant is located on Comfort Inn Drive so I'm guessing this used to be a Comfort Inn turned into a restaurant? It shares it's bathrooms and entrance with the 7-11 in the same building?!? Service was decent. Seated right away and our waiter was always checking on us. The drinks weren't bad. They didn't have frozen margaritas at the time. The food...could've been better. The queso fundido was a bit watery. I expected it to be thicker so it would stick to the chips better. The shrimp entree was pretty good. It's served with broccoli, but I guess they were still cooking it at the time the food came out so it was brought out later. The fajitas were very bland. It had a little spice to it but lacking salt and flavor. Good amount of meat in the pineapple though. Walked in and was immediately impressed. The decor is eye catching. Beautiful wood walls with, what looks like Aztec writings, and trimmed with intricate tile. Gorgeous lighting and flooring. You have perfectly set the mood! Prompt with chips and salsa. The tables were loaded with people. The booths separated by tall ornate backings looked great. Food was great. I got 3 beef soft tacos. The food was SO GOOD. Everything- from the salsa appetizer to the chilaquiles and tacos- delicious!!! I've never had traditional chilaquiles, only modern, and I was thoroughly impressed and happy with it. Beautiful presentation and the waiter always came over to help us out! The salsa wasn't too spicy yet it wasn't mild if that makes sense. We also ordered some guacamole which everyone really liked. My wife ordered the Burrito Jalisco and she said it was the best out of several places where she has ordered it, and she's like the other places. I tried the Delujo Quesadilla, which is listed as a specialty. It was really good also. They do have a kids menu which includes standard kids items such as cheesburger, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and even pizza. Went here for lunch today with my wife and mother in-law. This is our third visit in 2 months. Food is consistent and service is good - our server today initially had an attitude but after complimenting her about her bracelet she seemed to lighten up. Will definitely be back. I ordered a combo lunch - rice and beans with a crispy chicken taco and a chicken enchilada. My wife ordered the chicken chipotle which had very nice Smokey flavor / it was lightly smoked so nicely balanced with the chicken. Hubby and I tried this place for the first time. We went at lunch and not a lot of other guests. The restaurant is clean and overall has a great ambiance. The server at first seemed a little unwelcoming. However, he was just a little nervous but my hubby broke the ice and he was very nice and open after that. The food unfortunately was just ok. The salsas had some heat with little flavor. The chips were a little bit too thick. The corn tortillas are a little too thick for my liking and I'm used to Birria tacos being fried in the consommé and these were not. The consommé was on the side but it was very tasty and flavorful. I'm from California so I know I have different tastes when it comes to Mexican food. The prickly pear margarita was strong but it tasted like it was overly sweetened with some syrup. The ice tea, while not watered down, again had no taste. It seems the main event is the decor; I could care less about that. If you want authentic Mexican food with the atmosphere to match look nice further. The details these owners put into the space is amazing. All the stone and leather was imported from Mexico. Just beautiful. The salsa for the chips is delicious which is hard to find at any of the local Mexican restaurants in Warrenton. The food we had was amazing as well as the service.
