Cajun Pasta to go!
Jon D.

Got the Cajun Pasta to go and even after a 15 minute drive back to the cabin it was amazing. Love it.

7pm. Stopped hoping to sit at the Tahki Bar. It was closed earlier for rain and staff didn't return. Ordered drinks outside and was sent inside. Went in to order drinks at bar. Was told very rudely to order outside "cause we are short staffed and I am swamped." There is a better way. Then ignored for over 10 mins. We are here all summer. Visit here ALL summer as we are within walking distance. Guy at Tahki bar is always awesome and that is why we will return. Vodka Cran was good.

Up north for the holiday weekend and stopped by this place. Great view of the lake (Crosslake area).l and and nice patio eating space that joins to the boat dock. They only having seating outdoors which is nice however you can wait inside for a seat and they have a bar you can order from while you wait. The waitress was very nice and funny and helped with the selection I made. I started with an old fashion which was made very well 4.5 out of 5 stars for the drink. I wasn't too hungry so I asked if I can just have risotto which I saw was a side dish with various meals, and a side salad. The waitress said of course and I ordered the bourbon and mushroom risotto and salad. My friend ordered walleye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. While waiting for the food I sipped on the lovely old fashion and took in the view. The food arrived and the risotto looked kind of pale and didn't have mushrooms. Asked the waitress about it, she checked and found that indeed they sent out just plain risotto. It was good but not what I ordered. She placed another order for the right kind. I tasted the walleye and me and my friend both agreed that it was nothing to write home about kind of plain. The correct bourbon and mushroom risotto came out and it was even better than the plain version. Overall the food was hit and miss. Risotto was good the walleye was plain but the old fashion took front stage. I would recommend stopping in and giving them a try.

Time again for the annual "Boys Weekend" on Rush Lake and our cross-lakes pontoon ride to MBC. As in the last time I posted an updated review it's sad to see the overall average slip even further...now at about 2.0 overall. I know they can do better - I've seen it in some past years and am happy to say that they're back in the game for me!! Last Saturday's visit was probably the best since the first one six years ago. The food and service were fantastic - our waitress Ireland was superb - and I heard many "best ever" comments coming from our group of twelve. Hubby had a chicken with orecchiette pasta dish that he really liked. I had a Parmesan crusted walleye and it was outstanding. Someone had prime rib and raved about it. Cocktails were fantastic and made right! Overall a superb trip and it makes me realize why it sometimes pays off and try again. I'm looking forward to next years visit!!

Manhattan is my favorite place to eat on the Whitefish Chain, because they serve the best walleye on earth, and the sunset is unparalleled.

I loved my Hot Bourbon drink with a nice hit of cayenne butter and a few other tasty additions the Gin and Tonic was amazing as usual. I had the Carnitas Pizza (crisp crust, well prepares Carnitas and fresh greens) and Wild Rice Mushroom Soup. (Deep flavors with nicely done Wild Rice.). We started with the bacon wrapped dates (perfectly sticky) and the White Bean dip (tasty and crisp veggies includes watermelon remediates, yum ). This remains my favorite spot in the area, worth the drive for sure.

While we waited for a table to open up we ordered some drinks at the bar. We tried their espresso martini, watermelon crush, paloma and their cabana banana old fashioned, all were beautiful and delicious. The watermelon crush had a nice spice, this was my favorite cocktail. My husband and I shared the wild rice mushroom pizza, not a crumb left! It was fantastic. The kids had a cheese pizza, not a crumb left again, they raved about their fire oven pizza. My brother in law had their classic turkey salad, he said it was the best salad he's ever had. Everything looked and tasted so fresh. Even their ranch was amazing, I asked for a side of it for my pizza. Yes, I love ranch with my pizza :) We will definitely be coming back next summer, I will be looking forward to this!

Everything about our meal was perfect!…read more Background: we've been to almost every restaurant within 30 miles of Crosslake, most many times. We somehow missed this place. We would rank this meal as one of our best in the area. I had the crab cake sandwich, upgraded to include the dinner salad. The sandwich is one of the best things I've ever eaten. And, am pretty sure the amazing blu cheese dressing was house made. I tasted my husband's food, and can confirm... his cheeseburger upgraded to have the Cesar salad and the shrimp bisque was FANTASTIC!!! Will definitely be back!

So many things to tell you(long post), I was searching the area near our summer rental for a good…read morespot for my birthday dinner. As I read the menu for this restaurant, I was getting that excited feeling that I stumbled upon a place where they really know good food. The Italian nachos looked promising as well as the reuben egg rolls. Sandwiches, wraps, burgers, oooh! What's this is see? Omaha Hereford ribeye? IMHO black angus is highly overrated. I love a good heffer! So we seat ourselves, the place is popping busy, they're having an all you can eat crab leg special this Friday night. We start ordering off the menu. Beverages to start, nothing fancy, just a good local craft beer and a summer mocktail. Appetizers, my birthday, I get to choose. I decided on the reuben egg rolls. For the main course, my bride orders the sirloin and I order the ribeye, we both get salad. The egg rolls arrive first, looking very homemade. OMFG, they are soooo good. Watch out for the juicy squirt (fresh sauerkraut). Ok, house salad - you'd think nothing special needs to be said about a house salad, we'll let me tell you, house made croutons, house made dressings. It's these small little touches that make a big difference. The steaks were fantastic, the sides perfectly done. The service- on point. The only drawback was the little black flies bugging my legs throughout our visit. But hey, it's northern Minnesota, it comes with the territory and can be easily fixed with a couple of Vector or Lavex bug catchers. Overall, I shall finish pontificating. My suffencies have been sorrencified!
