Have been to this spot once. We were the only people ordering food. There was a day drinker at the bar, who seemed to be chummy w/the staff. We got the stink eye the entire time we were there. The staff, openly staring at us, with hostility & whispering & pointing. The burgers were under seasoned , over cooked & every restaurant in this one-horse town is racism w/ a side of burgers & beer & boring. & a new burger & burnt hot dog spot just...opened. lmao! We will burn our own burgers, at home thanks! Update: Saw they had an "Asian" themed month? WTF. The 80's are a "theme". Awful X-mas Sweaters is a theme. An entire continent, made up of hundreds of different cultural nuances, flavors is NOT a theme you backwoods shitfuck racists. Chicken ala King is not Chinese, neither is Chun King or LeeAnn Chin. I blame Andrew Zimmern for making this fuckshittery acceptable, btw. With his thieving of Michelin star Chinese recipes for his shitshow spot. Fuck that guy too. PS: why does every bar have a meat raffle & karaoke? Where does the meat come from? Why is the karaoke country only? How come the American Legions are all bars that serve food AND they're openly racist AND non-profits? Why do all of these businesses seem like ill-thought out niche vanity biz, created to serve these ppls friends & family? Love the paid "elite" reviews from white idiots. read more

Ordered Duck Wontons & a plain burger with a slice of raw onion. 20 minutes later server tells us they're out of wontons, need to select an alternative. Food comes out almost a hour after getting our table. Burger bun was ICE COLD, literally, top & bottom, that cooled the patty. Had others verify I wasn't being too picky. The raw onion on the burger cost $1.00, four rings of a purple onion. Fries, a $2.00 up-charge from chips were cold, soggy, limpy and clearly died waiting for the replacement meal (which lacked seasoning) for the out of stock Duck wontons. Tab came and included a charge for the out of stock Duck wontons. Had to track down our server, point out the error and wait for a corrected tab. Disappointing for a spot that we frequent.

We started with their spicy cranberry margarita and it was perfectly balanced between sweet and spicy. We asked for ranch and blue cheese and they were both a great addition. For dinner, we had a burger, tacos and the pizza fries. I had the street corn burger and it was loaded with chunky sauces and perfectly meaty crispy fresh fries. Really reasonable prices and a nice clean place. Def recommend!

This place was great - super friendly service, reasonable prices, big portions, AND tasty food! Nothing flashy, but everything we tried was good. Food 5/5: the outside of this place gives dive bar vibes, but the food absolutely wow'd us. We got pretzels and the fried green beans for appetizers, both were very good. It was a cooler summer day, so many of us opted for the comfort food. I got the chicken and it was spiced absolutely perfectly. The rice was done to perfection, the chunks of chicken complimented by the sauce. I would absolutely go back for just that. They have a great menu selection and great kid meal options. Service 5/5: our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She took our order quickly and the food also came quickly. Ambiance 5/5: like I said earlier, this place gives dive bar vibes from the outside. The inside is definitely more elevated. Plenty of room and seating with a great patio for nice days.

One member of our group ordered the jerked chicken and ribs, and the ribs were the standout. They were tender, flavorful, and fell right off the bone. Another guest ordered the regular ribs and found them to be somewhat dry and less tender, although they were still enjoyable. The au gratin potatoes were very good, and the chicken Alfredo was also well prepared. This is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area, so it is not somewhere we visit frequently. Two of us had the Pad Thai, one had steak and potatoes, and the other Szechuan tofu. The Pad Thai stands up to any version I've had anywhere, a strong and solid offering with the tanginess of tamarind balanced with fresh chopped cilantro. The traditional beef and potatoes dish can be hit and miss, but this one balanced potatoes with crispy edges and pillowy starchiness with quality strips of steak, all stir fried together in just enough brown sauce to bring it together. The tofu and snap peas in a spicy Szechuan sauce were flavorful and hearty enough after appetizers. We didn't get pictures of the egg rolls, which are as good as you'll find in these parts and the spring rolls, which were slightly less authentic than we'd hoped. We finished off with lemon bar ice cream, Vietnamese flan, and a toffee Bundt cake. Red Pine Cookhouse is a visually impressive log building with plenty of natural light flowing in through the many windows and a curved staircase leading up to a game room for the kids. We enjoyed the evening on the patio. We were thrilled to have been introduced to this gem of a restaurant, and look forward to our next trip back!
