Excellent food with terrific service. You can't beat that with a stick. They weren't crowded on an early Friday morning and the place was clean. I ordered the Nova Lox!!!!! Ohhh my gosh this sandwich was delicious I'm not kidding. I added the everything bagel with extra capers and I'm glad I did. It's was truly scrumptious and I was so impressed that the next day I wanted more. So I decided to go to a location near my home in the Roxborough area and boy was I disappointed. This location has set the bar really high lol. I might only just come to this location. They were speedy, the man that checked me out was so friendly. I had a Stax records t-shirt on and we chatted about Memphis and our experiences. I lived there and he visited. It was cool for him to connect with me because he didn't have too. I'll definitely return and I'm almost certain this is the location I'll come back to. read more

Really cute version of the chain. Bigger, brighter, more pleasant staff .Comfortable seating and plenty of it. Its seems almost professionally decorated. Check pics. After finding this one I am done with the Media version. Today i had the original breakfast sandwich with bacon on an egg bagel. YUM The coffee selection is great and its piping hot. My sandwich was delivered to my table! Everyone who left was told to have a nice day after hearing "Thank you". How often do you hear that anymore for your business? Purchased a few breakfast sandwiches. They seemed to lack meat and egg on the sandwich. There was barely anything there. These sandwiches cost $6.49 or whatever they are, and probably should be valued at 99 cents. I'd much rather eat a four hour old Wawa breakfast sandwich. read more

subpar compared to other Manhatten bagel franchise locations- due to quality of food, consistency and service. The owner is brash to the say the least and very condescending. He's happy to lose you as a customer if you have any qualms....and that's somebody you want to give your money to? NOPE! I love the franchise and the recipes/pricing. If you're not going to honor the menu items as they are printed, or properly produce the food to the companies standards why open a franchise? I'll make the trip to a further location or support a business owner who actually appreciates having customers. If you've reviewed the glenolden location positively, please visit another location in the area(or two) and see if you still fee the same way. The bagels here are pretty good. But I'm writing this review because I showed up here at six in the morning right when they opened and was greeted with the most welcoming, energetic, and genuinely upbeat attitude from the staff and it really made my day. You're nowhere near a downtown New York City deli, so you're probably going to get general tier of quality bagel that's equivalent to trying to get a cheesesteak somewhere in upstate New York. This is such a great breakfast spot. Their bagels are always so fresh and delicious. Me and my boyfriend like to stop before we head into work some mornings. I love the nova lox. It's not over the top expensive like tho ya with smoked salmon usually are and you get a decent amount of it too. Cream cheese & smoked salmon on a bagel is one of my favorite breakfasts and they do it justice! The wait was a little bit long, considering that's all I got and my boyfriend only had a normal egg sandwich, but it wasn't the end of the world. The employees are also very friendly. read more

Called to place an order and tried to order hash browns and was told " can't do it cause there's no room on the grill" i still proceed with the order and go to pick it up 15 mins later and what do i see on the grill when paying, multiple hash browns. Lost my business. read more

By far my least favorite location so far. The atmosphere was gloomy and uninviting. I was the only person in the shop and still stood there for about 5 minutes before being greeted even though the attendant watched me walk in. Upon ordering, his attitude alone would have been enough to make me leave but I was hungry and running late so I stayed against my better judgement only to get to my truck and realize he got my order completely wrong. You never know what you're going to get. Maybe your order will be perfect, maybe they'll forget the ketchup, or the cheese, or give you the wrong bagel altogether. Run under the same management for as long as I can remember, nothing ever changes at Manhattan. Except the price gouging. Almost $5 for a breakfast mini bagel? That's despicable. You only go to Manhattan because it's literally the only bagel shop within a 10 mile radius. Sad. read more

This is a pretty solid location. Bagels are fresh, sandwiches are made to order and, most importantly, NOT microwaved. Service is always friendly. There can be a wait during the morning rush and on weekends but they happily take orders over the phone and your food is ready when you get there. read more

Originally from Northern Jersey/NYC area, home of the bagels! I started going here when moved down the street a little over a year ago. I'd say I visit this location 2-3 times a week. First time coming in, I got a Plain Bagel with Cream Cheese. Thankfully I didn't eat the whole bagel since I found a fly in the cream cheese; wings, legs, and all. Never will ask for their cream cheese again. They say their normal hours are 7am-2pm. It always seems to be a hit or miss if they are open on time or at all most days. They are always changing their hours, making it hard for customers to know when they are open and when closed. Their new hours now are Tuesday - Sunday 7am-2pm, closed Mondays! What bagel shop is closed on a Monday?!? It's the beginning of the week, most people going to work would love to enjoy a breakfast sandwich and a coffee! I have been getting the same breakfast sandwich since the beginning and every time it taste different, meaning their cooks are not consistent. The phone never gets answered despite them always being empty and having plenty employees. They are the only bagel shop in the walking distance area which makes it extremely hard to give my business elsewhere. It also is the sole reason why this Manhattan Bagel location is still open for business all together. read more

I don't go here for the quality of the bagels. They're good, but I've had better. I do go here for the breakfast sandwiches hot off the grill. A sausage egg and cheese on a bagel fresh off the grill is as good as it gets. Top it off with their fresh squeezed orange juice and you have a Sunday morning breakfast treat. I stopped here because I read about the quality of their egg sandwiches in other reviews. I'm more of a full breakfast person but I stopped in here on a Saturday morning to give it a go. The parking lot seemed full even though the place was not. I went right up and ordered my bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted sesame bagel and the paid. When the cashier/owner gave me my change, he advised me to "call ahead" so it would be ready when I arrived. Apparently, this is what the regulars who come here do, and there were plenty of them. It's the first time I have seen this in this type of place, but why not. I spent 15 minutes waiting for my sandwich that I could have spent doing something else and there were plenty of people, young and old, walking in to pick up. Nice idea. The bagels here were very fresh. The sandwich had plenty of bacon and generally tasty. The guy before me got a garlic bagel sandwich and I got a taste of garlic in mine because they used the same knife to cut his sandwich before mine. While others have commented on the nice decor - it's ok - I would have to agree with those who think this place could use a good scrubbing and someone who regularly goes out to clean the tables. It was pretty dirty by 9:30 and I opted to eat in my car. At least 10 orders went out when I was there and no one sat to eat in except one. i might try them one more time but if the place looks like it did today, I won't be back. read more

Friendly staff, but the time it takes to make bagel sandwiches is upwards of 20 minutes. The Cinnamon Winter blend coffee tastes great mixed with the Hazelnut blend. Be sure to ask for your hash browns extra crispy -- ours came on the soggy side. read more

Grill always a mess; not a single table wiped down the last two times. Self service would be better. Last time it was bagel sandwiches- where the 'cook' put down the egg and toasted the bagel before cooking bacon. Surprise! The result was a cold bagel and cold egg with warm bacon. Yeaaaaaa. I walked in with my mom and got a French toast and blueberry bagel with butter on both. It was nothing too special. The only complaint I have was about paying. We ordered the food and were expecting to get a total and pay immediately, but instead we ended up waiting at a table. After we ate I went up to pay behind two other people and the worker checked them out and ignored me. I waited a couple of minutes and someone else checked me out. She didn't ask if I wanted a receipt and just assumed and crumpled and tossed it. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I get at this franchise. For the most part, the employees are nice, but every time I go to the Glenolden location, I get this one employee who is probably the rudest person in customer service I have ever met. I've witnessed him fight with customers who come in, including myself and is so incredibly rude to everyone he serves. You have now completely lost my business and I will never be returning due to the complete lack of customer service at this establishment. (Not to mention the service is slow) read more

Used to love his place but every time I go there they mess up my order. 3 times now ordering the classic EGG WHITE sandwich and I open it to yolk. I repeat myself every time I order that I want egg whites and they still can't get it. My husband and I were visiting some friends in the area, and so we searched for the closest bagel shop. Manhattan Bagel came up right away and we clicked on it by chance. Thankfully we did because it had one of the BEST egg and cheese (with cream cheese) sandwiches I have ever had! Maybe it was the mounds of cream cheese that was on it, but the everything bagel was just really delicious on its own too. The staff was also super friendly!
