Interior-- good seating available for small and large groups.

Had an impromptu morning breakfast with friends here early on a Monday morning. As expected, crowds were little to none, and was mostly the group of cops enjoying their morning shift breakfast. This is my second time here in the past few years. Table services was great. Ordering was fast once all of us arrived, and we got our food shortly afterwards. Food is pretty delicious, and there's a good variety on the menu. I was so ready to start eating that I forgot to snap a picture, but our table ordered a Mexi Hash, Iron Hash, and the Eggsplosion Burger. Overall, food is delicious. I think the portion size to price ratio is a bit wanting, especially if you're just looking for a simple breakfast, but it does seem more reasonably priced for brunch if that's what your coming here for. Ambience is great-- a bit small, but I love the brightly colored walls. Definitely helps with waking up. Heads up that parking is a bit tight, but if you're coming anywhere into Old City you should just expect that at this point, and it's of no fault to the business.

The brekkie bahn mi blew me away. This was a delicious combination of your classic bahn mi with a breakfast sandwich. They have a cash discount here, though small.

The service was amazing, such kind and friendly staff even though they were so busy. I also loved the ambiance - very warm, welcoming, comfortable, and upbeat. The food was great with big portions and good flavor! The prices are also AMAZING!!! Definitely will be a go to for us

We walked into Eggcellent cafe without a reservation on a Sunday morning and it was packed! We had to sign in using a kiosk to be added to the waiting list. It is much smaller inside than anticipated. After about a 12 minute wait we were seated at two seats at the window looking out to passers by. I ordered a cup of coffee ( 2/10) and De Olde Taco-(Shaved Rib Eye, Onion, Chihuahua Cheese, Scrambled Eggs, Spicy Chipotle Ketchup, Pico de Gallo, Cilantro, Scallion on Flour Taco shell, served with Breakfast Potatoes) 9/10.

They were busy when we went. Put our name on the list and then they texted when the table was ready. The food was delicious. Loved the potatoes and my sandwich, although the aioli on my sandwich was spicier than I expected. The staff were nice but they seemed very frazzled. It almost seemed as if they needed to have 1 more person on staff during their brunch rush... We actually got our food before our drinks, were not offered water when we sat down (and the couple next to us seemed to feel the same) It's a cute space, although there's not really space to wait inside out of the cold for your table.

My gf brought me here while we were hanging out to celebrate my bday. This place does not take reservations so we walked in, signed in, and were seated within about 15 mins of arriving - this was on a Saturday, summer morning, before 11am. While we waited, we viewed the menu so that we could eat as soon as we were seated. I ordered a Clucker Benny and my friend ordered a small stack of pancakes with a side of cheese and eggs and potatoes. Everything was delightful and was a healthy serving size for both my friend and I. The place is small; service was fairly quick; the prices seemed reasonable although I didn't see the bill. If it's not too crowded, it's definitely worth a short wait... Side note: I don't recall seeing any turkey products on the menu but they do serve chicken (FYI to those who don't eat pork.)

Good: Super Yum! Portions were GREAT! The Thai Iced Coffee & Mango Smoothie also very good, just very small size. Service: Service was decent, not overly friendly. Ambiance: Cute aesthetic, plenty of seating!

We were looking for a breakfast spot within walking distance of our hotel in old town. We stumbled upon Eggcellent and it was perfect. Cute spot, great staff and eggcellent food! I had the eggs Benedict with a scrambled egg. It was so yummy and the hollandaise was amazing. If you're in Philly, check out this gem.

Great prices and delicious food. The decor in here is also too cute. Would come back to Philly just to have breakfast here again haha

We were excited to try this restaurant after reading the great reviews. The restaurant wasn't crowded which was nice. We ordered coffee and my husband requested half regular and half decaf and we were told they had no way of making half caf coffee which seemed strange. Three of us ordered eggs and one person ordered a pancake. Our food came and we were almost finished eating before the pancake arrived after asking about it twice. In general, the food was good but based on the service, I don't think we would visit again. We saw surrounding tables having similar issues with wrong items served, long delays in getting coffee, etc.

fantastic brunch spot with asian-inspired flavors! my friends and i came for brunch around 11am on a thursday and were quickly seated. everything here was delicious! i ordered the eggceptional sammie and a side of hashbrowns, which was delicious and flavorful. the hashbrowns were perfectly crispy and paired well with the sammie. i also had the honey suckle latte which was a little too sweet for me, but still a good treat. my friends enjoyed their dishes as well, one of our favorites was the el huevos burritos which was very hefty and filling. service was fast, and there was plenty of seating on a thursday. the cafe had ample natural light and was well-decorated with greenery. overall a great experience!

My brother and I came here on Memorial Day. We had expected a wait, and we ended up waiting like 45 minutes for our two-top. Service was very slow, but I'm pretty sure it was because it was a holiday and perhaps they were a little understaffed. The staff was super friendly and apologetic for the wait. I ordered a tumeric latte and one of their breakfast sandwiches. It had a hashbrown on it! I thought it was good, but in my opinion it would have been great if I'd added a sauce to it. It was all the things I love (bacon, egg, cheese, soft bread, hashbrown) but felt a little boring regardless. The tumeric latte was cozy and delicious -- the tumeric was strong and I wasn't able to finish it, but it was my first time having a latte like this and I'm just not sure it's the flavor profile for me. My brother enjoyed his skillet but said similarly that it was good, but could have been great with modifications. Overall, I'd come back and definitely recommend this place to friends!

Food was fantastic. Everything was just the way that I like it. The potatoes were done and with a little crunch. The French toast was not at all soggy and had a little bit of crisp. The eggs were cooked just all the right way. Service was quick. We did have to wait a little bit for a table as they are limited in the number of 4 or more tables. People with 1 or 2 in their party were sat almost immediately. Cool environment in a cool location. We'll be back.

Green Tea: A typical American green tea flavor, which I think is similar to a cheap matcha flavor. At least for Chinese tastes, its biggest advantage is that it's not too sweet, and the flavor is relatively mild and fragrant. Especially when the shopkeeper seemed to be scooping ice cream away like it was free, I was even more glad I chose this flavor... Sea Salt Caramel: The flavor recommended by the staff. Objectively speaking, it was indeed good, with a distinct caramel aroma, but for me, who had already eaten ice cream that day, it was still too sweet. Coconut: Less sweet than Sea Salt Caramel, but also less milky. Relatively refreshing, but still quite sweet. The server offered samples warmly, which is definitely a plus.

A visit to Franklin Fountain is definitely a splurge -- but it's one of those Philly experiences…read moreyou just can't skip. From the moment you step inside, the specialty shakes and sundaes start calling your name. Everything on the menu sounds over-the-top in the best way possible. We landed on an apple pie shake, a peanut butter shake (PB ice cream, PB sauce, and fudgy brownie chunks), and the Lightning Rod sundae. Each treat was clearly crafted with care. You can tell time and quality go into every detail. I loved that they actually warmed the apple pie and the brownie chunks before blending them in. That extra touch elevated everything. The textures, the flavor balance, it wasn't just thrown together; it was thoughtfully built. Now let's be real: it's pricey. Three treats ran us about $50. But they're generous, rich, and indulgent. I was absolutely stuffed, fully sugared up and ready to power my way up the Rocky Steps afterward. The nostalgic charm is half the fun. From the old-fashioned decor to serving ice cream in those classic Chinese takeout-style containers, the whole place feels like stepping back in time. It adds to the experience in a big way. I personally appreciated that the sundae wasn't drowning in sauce -- it let the ice cream shine. That said, the PB shake was my clear favorite (even if I went way overboard on the brownie chunks). Bottom line: I highly recommend it. Just consider sharing to cut down on the cost and maybe to avoid the inevitable sugar crash. Totally worth it for the experience. Bonus Tip: Bring a receipt to Shane's Confectionary and get a 5% discount on your order (or vice versa).
