Came here about 3 years ago when my kid was a baby and remembered it being so good had to go back and my next trip to Philadelphia. The memory did not disappoint! I'm not sure you can go wrong with anything to the point that I literally googled if they had a Michelin star (apparently not awarded in Philly) but I did find out this place is ranked #30 in yelps top 100 breakfast spots in the US. Granted, I sat outside the the covered and heated patio instead of indoors, but that didn't take away from the experience for me. I was cozy and comfortable in the space for our meal. The service was fine, a bit chaotic because of the weekend brunch, but all in all well attended. We had the shawarma platter, the ananas salad, and the entrecote omelette. A bread that would have been more hardier to stand up to the sauce as my bread dissingrated into nothing when dipped. My server said that the red shashuka is really good as well. I'll round up to 5 from 4.5 stars. The only knock I'm giving them is that they don't have a reservation system and won't seat you without your whole party present. My husband and I stopped at Cafe La Maude on a Friday early afternoon and it was packed. We were greeted by a very kind host that allowed us to store our luggage in the next-door garage- above and beyond service! They kept the tables moving quickly, so we only had to wait 10 minutes or so for a table despite being 3rd or 4th in line. My husband and I both got the red shakshuka- some of the best I've ever had! The pita was particularly delicious as well. This is a cute spot in a cute neighborhood with great service- I highly recommend to anyone traveling to Philadelphia, and is right along a major bus line. read more

They do not take reservations, only walk-ins so I was a little bit concerned on how long it would be for us to get a table. I called a few days before to see what it would be like on a Friday at 11:30am as that is the time we were planning to go for 7 people. They said we should be fine and not have to wait. WELL they were totally right and our party actually grew and there ended up being 13 of us!! My cousin got there before I did and she was able to get a table without any issues! They were so accommodating and the service was top notch!! I shared the French toast with my sister which was SOO DELICIOUS!! I had the Petit Steak which was really yummy, but I think I should've asked for the Balsamic Vinaigrette on the side, but that is just me since I usually like my steak without sauce. I also ordered a Vanilla Iced latte which was so good and it was served in a really big glass! It is BYOB, so my sister brought her own mini bottle of Licor 43 and ordered a double shot of espresso to make a Carajillo! To start my birthday celebrations this weekend,g boyfriend took me here for brunch. Have only been here once before and sat outside that time, so we were able to grab a booth seat inside. Very cafe like vibes in table sizes setup and decor. Staff were all friendly and accommodating - and the service was pretty smooth and fast (but didn't feel rushed). Food was delicious! We changed from what we originally ordered and I'm kinda happy we did. I forgot the Short Rib Benny and he got the Chicken Cordon Bleu dish with Ham. Both of us were happy with our choices and would want to come back to try other dishes. Cafe La Maude, always packed and busy, serves plentiful brunch options and boasts excellent service. -- I dined at Cafe La Maude for weekend brunch with a party of 6. As there's no reservations, we were put on a waitlist and told an estimate of 30-45 minutes. We were seated in 20. Although it was busy and we were the fourth party on the list, we were pleasantly surprised by the speed. A big perk is that Cafe La Maude is BYOB. We brought a bottle of champagne and it was iced and uncorked promptly upon our seating. The carafe of orange juice we ordered was great for about 2 small glasses of mimosas per each person, so around 12 small cups. We were seated at the front section of the restaurant, near the barista section. It was incredibly loud due to the coffee being ground and the machines (frother, grinder, blender) constantly running on this busy weekend morning. Additionally, the opening and closing of the door (and eventual propping open of the door) to serve the outdoor dining patrons made our dining experience incredibly chilly. However, once again their service was A+ and after 10 minutes they asked our table if we were cold and went to close the door. The food was in big portions. Most of our party brought half home with them! I shared the short rib benny and we were a bit disappointed at its quality, which didn't match the other large and delicious entrees at our table. It was plated gorgeously but the eggs were not runny as we expected from a benny, rather they were well-done to fully cooked. The meat was dry but flavorful. The fried potatoes with the benny and our side of fried potatoes with saffron aioli were also a bit dry and needed considerable sauce. I would not recommend the benny or fried potatoes, however the Mediterranean platter was well-received by others at the table. The whole time, the service was fantastic- taking our photos without asking and constantly checking up on us and chatting. Notable for larger groups, Cafe La Maude accepts card for payment and the check can be split between a maximum of two credit cards. However, cash is preferred. Overall, Cafe La Maude has great potential as a brunch spot. However, for me it missed the mark with the incredibly loud ambience (such that we were screaming across the table) and the benny being a let down. Since the service was A+, I'm excited for when I'm back in the area to give it a try again! read more

My favorite brunch destination in Philly, this Northern Liberties spot features delicious cafe drinks and a menu with French and Lebanese influences in their dishes. While the restaurant only accepts walk-ins, the wait is fully worth it! On busy weekends, I've had experiences ranging from an immediate seating to about a 30-minute wait. Each dish I've tasted across over five visits have been tasty and memorable. During my first visit I ordered the delicious Eggs Benedict, but my personal favorite goes to the Chicken Gordon Bleu for its balance of sweet and savory. What's stayed consistent, however, is the giant portions you'll receive for each menu item. I've always left each visit super stuffed (and with the occasional box). The service also is superb, with each staff member treating tables with care and great banter. Our food is also served fairly quickly for the restaurant always being packed, so it's a testament to the quality and speed of their kitchen. It's also BYOB, and they help uncork bottles and provide juice with a small surcharge as requested. They serve French Lebanese fare which is different from the average brunch and their decor is super cute and cozy - sort of like a Parisienne diner My friend and I shared the baklava pancakes and shakshuk and both were amazing and complemented each other well. One of my closest friends loves Cafe La Maude so insisted we have brunch here. It's a locally-owned small business and super cozy inside, and we were welcomed in warmly.
