This is the best coffee shop in Philly! Discovered this gem of a coffee shop while staying in the area. Everything about this place is everything. Starting off, the mood and the vibe of this shop is so zen and amazing. The comfy music that is played, the low lightening and the beautiful decor sets a beautiful mood, especially in the morning. Service is amazing!! All the staff are wonderful people and I really enjoyed the conversations I had with them. Everything I had was delicious but my favorite was the caramel iced latte. I tried their walnut cappuccino the other day and now I love not one but two of their drinks: their mocha being the other one. The mug was rimmed with some sort of syrup and crushed walnuts so with eat sip of the cappuccino, you get the slightly sweet, nutty flavor of the walnuts. read more

Solid coffee shop with a good amount of seating for the size of the cafe. It is quite dark in there which is nice if you're looking for something with more cozy/comfy vibes. Both were fantastic-- the Honey Cinnamon Latte was sweet, smooth, and creamy, while the Walnut Cappuccino was rich and fragrant with finely chopped walnuts. My favorite cafe in Philly! I'm in love with the ambiance here- dim lighting with yellow lamps, bookshelves, paintings, dark wood, Bill Evans in the background. The workers here are also always so kind. The drinks here are also high quality and rich in taste. I've had the walnut cappuccino and regular cappuccino, both of which have foam that matches the smoothness of velvet. Their iced coffee definitely tastes like a darker roast, so it makes for a refreshing pick on a hot day! I feel like there's a lot of attention to detail poured into in each drink they make which is so rare and appreciated. I love a good themed cafe with yummy drinks and peaceful ambience. The background music was not distracting, but calm - almost like a jazz cafe. It isn't a small cafe, but there was only one barista working. There is also a stamp card that is completed after 15 drinks and a Time and Peace coffee sleeve. I got a large hot chai and walnut cappuccino. The chai was delicious - actually had a chai spiced flavor, although it could have been stronger. It was not too sweet or too watered down. There wasn't a strong walnut flavor in the cap, which was good, but to me it was like a regular cappuccino with some toppings. I was reading some reviews and saw how they used to circle the cappuccino cup with nuts, but didn't for us :( I guess next time specify that you are dining in if you want some latte art. The guy also forgot our ham and cheese croissant but we chose to give it 20 minutes just in case he was super backed up on sandwiches. But most people came and went; if they stayed, it was a short stay. The honey and cinnamon latte is very strong on the honey, I could barely taste the cinnamon with the coffee. There are only a few tables and chairs inside. There are a couple of tall tables next to the wall with outlets. I like that there are wall decorations, local artworks, books, and decor. There isn't necessarily a theme, but it is cozy. Sometimes it's louder than usual with people talking, other times it's quiet with people working or studying. read more

A cozy and not too busy coffee shop. I went here to work a bit and love the atmosphere. There were paintings on the wall, a bookshelf in the back and some art pieces. They were playing jazz instrumental which is soo nice and soothing. They have a good selection of espresso drinks, specialty lattes and pastries that look delectable. Nice addition to the neighborhood. I stopped in on opening day to check it out. Staff were sweet and welcoming. It's a really cozy spot, with warm, dark colors, wood accents, and bookshelves decorating the space. (I really need to remember to take more photos--guess I'll have to go back soon!) They were playing music that created a calm ambience. They've got tables and wifi if you want to enjoy a coffee while working. They use House Cup Coffee (a roaster in Havertown) if you keep track of that sort of thing. They have a few "signature drinks," so I gave that a try for my first visit. I had a walnut cappuccino, something I don't think I've seen elsewhere. It was topped with ground walnuts, which was a nice touch. It wasn't too sweet, and the milk-to-coffee ratio was perfect. First was greeted with "Do you know what you want?", not really the first words I'm expected to be greeted with at a cafe. The veggie bagel sandwich was ok but could've used more pesto since that's where most of the salt was coming from. Chairs and tables are of dark wood. I'm more of a brightly-lit cafe type of person, but on winter days, this is the perfect spot for a cozy study session for me. There were many outlets on the wall & most tables are flushed to the wall. There are shelves with plenty of books and some games. It wasn't crowded when I came. There was soft jazz music playing. This probably isn't the type of place you want to meet up with a group of friends and chitchat. Everyone in the cafe was very mindful, quiet, and speak in a low voice. Coffee & food was great. I've been looking for a coffeeshop like this for a long, long, *long* time. I moved to the city 15 years ago and have been looking for a place like this since then. When I say a long time, I mean it! Time and Peace really lives up to the name--there's a pride flag in the window, some cute clock decor, and it's quiet and dark inside. Not too dark to read or work, but not too bright either. I'm rather photosensitive, so this is exactly what I want. Beyond that, the music playing every time I've visited has been precisely the nonvocal sort of thing I've been looking for; it seems to be a charming blend of jazz and classical, like what I'd hear on WRTI. The drinks are tasty, and I'm quite a fan of their specialty lattes. They do the basics well, too, with an iced coffee that's got some pleasant fruit and chocolate notes. Pastries are tasty, too. Cannot at all complain. Everyone I've interacted with has been super sweet and friendly, helpful and informative, willing to chat coffee with me. The only criticism I have is that I wish they were open later. I'm not at all a morning person and I'd love to be able to find a place to spend a day rather than just a morning. read more
