Local Philadelphia chain close to my house so I come here enough to always be slightly disappointed. The bagels are great. I like how the crispy on the outside deli on the inside and fresh baked all the time. A couple of issues: one is when it's crowded the wait can be a while, especially if we're just here to pick up a couple bagels. They seem to do everything in order even though it's a quick couple of bagels in the order. I'm an operations guy and an easy fix would be having someone focus on bagel only orders. Also seems like they mix up things quite a lot. I know the staff are very busy all running around so I get it. Seems staffed adequately and they scream your name when the order is ready it's so loud it's hard to understand especially with staff who have quiet voices. Maybe a Number system or something fun like I saw in the past at the fractured prune doughnut using playing cards. Walked in and was surprised it wasn't really busy as it was lunchtime. First impression wasn't warm or welcoming, but I've been in and out of the area for over a year now and figured it was time to try it out. Ordered a cappuccino, the Goat, and one each of their gluten free bagels (plain and everything) for my gf compatriot to try later. The Goat is goat cheese, honey, and Granny Smith apple. When asked which bagel I wanted to go with it I went with the salted egg bagel as that looked tasty. The food was out quickly. The cappuccino tastes a little burnt but that could be the oat milk. The Goat on the salted egg bagel is delicious. Like Delicious! I wanted to eat all of it but wasn't that hungry so made myself stop to save it for later. I'm going to have to drop in again when I'm in the area and try their other offerings. If they're even half as good as the Goat, they'll be winners. read more

I've been coming to this location every weekend for years. But mgmt recently changed (miss you Justine) and things have gone downhill a bit. The wait times are much longer than they ever were and it seems they are chincing on the eggs on the sandwiches. I watch them being made. You can afford more eggs for what you're charging. The service was friendly and the place was clean. When you place your order, you are asked to tip, just like everywhere these days. However, what does my tip include? My drinks and food were not delivered to my table and I had to police my own table and throw my own trash away. If the owners paid their employees better, you wouldn't have to ask customers to do your job. I'm sure they are rich too and can afford it. Tip fatigue is real and it's real annoying when it doesn't even include anything worth tipping for. Please review this and pay your employees better. The bagels were decent but not great. I wasn't the only one frustrated--several others waiting had the same complaints. You're in Glen Mills, paying top-tier rent to serve bagels. Get the fundamentals right or risk losing customers. Oh, and a side note: the high-top seating is always wet. Why? The A/C vents drip condensation straight onto the long table. I had not had a bagel in quite a long time. At lunch time, I was in the mood for a sesame bagel with some type of fish on it. While my husband and I were walking in West Chester, he looked at the nearby restaurants on Yelp, and decided that we should go to Spread. At around 10:45 a.m. this place was about 3/4 full. There were about six people in line in front of us. The order-taker was friendly and fast. I ordered a classic whitefish salad sesame bagel sandwich. It was really quite good but very messy. Thank goodness that I ate it in my car. The restaurant was clean and the nice employees looked hip. Thank goodness that my car doesn't smell like fish. Whomever made that olive oil and rosemary bagel is a criminal mastermind because i am HOOKED. They are distinctly different from a New York bagel so keep an open mind if you're expecting an XL bagel. The crust is nice and crunchy from being baked by wood-fire and it perfectly complements the chewy center. It's also fun to watch the baking process while you wait! Next time, I'm going to get a dozen so i can freeze some to have whenever i want. Whether you're staying to eat or taking to go, you can keep it simple with a classic coffee and bagel or choose something more substantial. This place has been in the area for a while and I've heard nothing but good things so I stumbled on in today. Fox 29 news was there with a huge group of kids which I was not expecting as I rolled out of bed so it was a little chaotic inside, but the staff scooped me right up and waved me over to the counter. They had plenty of people working and it seemed to operated like a well oiled machine with how busy it was! The gentleman who took my order was very friendly and my order did not take long at all. I was so excited to try this place that I called my sister and asked if she wanted to try anything. Of course she said yes because she too of course, has only heard wonderful things. In the midst of this, Fox started filming right in front of the area you order. Uh oh. Cue the social anxiety. Do I finally make my TV debut? In sweats? No way. There was a woman Tara who handed me my order and I asked if I could place another order with her at the pick up area and she said of course. She asked what I wanted and didn't rush me at all. She went to place the order and it was ready within like five minutes. So fast! When I went to hand her my card she said it was on her. I was stunned honestly. She told me how much they're expanding which is so exciting because this place is just so wonderful. Thank you Tara for ending what has been a horrid week for me in the sweetest way. Seriously made my whole day. The bagels were so delicious, not overly dense, not overly crispy. Nice and fluffy with a perfect chew and the eggs were cooked perfect. Wow! I wish I had found this place sooner. Real bagels like from my childhood going into Manhattan! Fresh and flavorful. I have had many of the cream cheeses and all are wonderful. I ordered two bagels with cream cheese and one with butter--simple, right? Apparently not for this place. Instead, I got three bagels with butter and when I pointed out the mistake, their solution was to just hand me cream cheese like I was supposed to scrape off the butter and fix it myself. Seriously? I am so excited to have a bagel shop near where I live! I spent some time living in NY and NJ which have some excellent bagel shops and you were never far from a strip mall with a bagel shop. Here in Delco, there's Dunkin and maybe a Manhattan Bagel. First thing, this is a Montreal style bagel which is baked in a wood oven vs the NY style. This is important because if you are expecting a NY style, that's not what you are getting. Second thing, I think it's a little pricey but....everything I have had is really good. I have had an egg bagel with cream cheese, an onion bagel with whitefish salad (you get sooo much whitefish!) and an onion bagel standard sandwich. My favorite is the standard (egg, cheese and your choice of sausage, bacon and turkey bacon.) I'm that weirdo that is #teamturkeybacon so I always appreciate when it's an option on the menu. Stopped in with my family on a Saturday morning for bagels after we heard this location had opened. Ordering online was easy and it worked from a phone without issue. Prices were on the higher than expected side, but figured we would give it a shot anyway. When we arrived around 8am there was a steady stream of folks coming and going. Our food was ready on time and we received all the right items. The staff was friendly and fast. As someone who grew up on NY style bagels, these bagels didn't do it for me. My cinnamon raisin didn't really taste like anything and the bottom was covered in flour. The interior is a lot lighter than I'm used to, not as chewy. I got bacon, egg, and cheese on mine. Now, I didn't see them making it but they had to have put close to 3 eggs on this thing. It was THICK. So I felt a lot better about the price. The bacon was chewy and had a weird fake smoke flavor. The cheese was fine. My kids (who love bagels) didn't care for their everything or lemon/blueberry bagels and only ate a few bites. My wife liked hers. The coffee was LaColombe which I always like. It was fine but tasted like cardboard as it cooled. I don't really like that I can't put my own level of cream in it though, they do it behind the counter. Might be a COVID rule, not sure. Overall it was fine. We won't make any special trips out here, but we would give it another shot. read more

I noticed this new place while shopping in the area and made a note to try it out. It's a nice, modern breakfast spot with bagels at the forefront. They serve it all day (from 7 to 3) with lunch options as well. I got there around 2 so I chose one of their lunch sandwiches: roast chicken cheesesteak. Sadly, the roast chicken was extremely dry. And for a take on a cheesesteak there was hardly any cheese. It also felt as though the made it in a rush (it looked that way as well). The bagel itself was tasty. I'll have to try those on their own since it is a bagel shop. It's nice there's a breakfast shop in this area, but I'm not in a rush to head back. read more

There is no denying that the bagels are good And we were happy with our food. However, the whole experience is not one I will be rushing back for. Arrived this morning just before 10 am. Ordered a cappuccino with non-fat milk. they are out of non-fat milk, before 10am on a weekend? I dont understand how this can be, especially when there is a Whole Foods just steps away. How about you walk those few steps and get what you need to serve your customers. Then it is time to pay. We take cash but only exact change, so they really don't take cash. Are they so worried about people (employees) stealing the cash that they are willing to pay 2.5% on every dollar. if I have a $20 bill (legal tender) and an $11 dollar bill effectively they are telling me they don't accept cash. Next when we pull out the credit card to pay you swipe your card and the first thing you see is the prompt to tip. I generally over tip but this guilt tipping screen is too much. Now we sit down to wait for our order to be prepped. The table is not wiped down, the floor around the table is dirty, not filthy, but obvious the crew has not been out there to stay on top of it. Overall my interaction with the couple of employees was underwhelming, it was a struggle to get a thank you or you are welcome out of them. Yes I am nitpicking now but everything gets magnified when the customers expectations are so far from being met. Got the BLT on an everything bagel. The garlic mayo/ aioli is VERY garlicky. It's been over 24hrs and I cannot get the garlic taste out, despite brushing my teeth several times and eating other food/drinks.
