We visited Voss Lounge on Wednesday, April 1, excited for happy hour after seeing their Instagram flyer advertising $5 drinks, small apps, and hookah. Well...that's not exactly what we got. Once we arrived, we were told those $5 specials were actually for Tuesdays--not Wednesdays--and that detail was not clear on Instagram. I was told it was listed on their website, but let's be real...this is 2026--people are checking IG and TikTok, not websites. If you're promoting on social media, it needs to be accurate. We got there around 4:15 PM (happy hour starts at 4), and the place was empty--music wasn't even on yet. My party of four was seated right away, and we ordered drinks, food, and hookah. The lounge itself was beautiful--decked out in red and black with a really nice vibe. I had lemon drops and wings--both were actually really good. No complaints on the food or drink at all. But just know, the wings were not $5 since that special didn't apply that day. Now...the hookah experience? A complete mess. The hookah wasn't $5 either--it was $25 if I recall correctly. The hookah attendant recommended a flavor that was honestly not good at all. When we told her we didn't like it and asked to switch flavors (which we were willing to pay for), she tried to make us purchase a refill instead of simply fixing the issue. We asked to speak to a manager. She went to the back and spoke with someone who I later found out was the owner--but he never came out to address us. That alone didn't sit right with me. Instead, she came back, grabbed the hookah, and walked off. No explanation, no replacement--nothing. It felt like, "We won't charge you, but you're also not getting another one." That whole situation completely turned us off. Now I will give credit where it's due--our waitress was an absolute sweetheart. Friendly, attentive, and she did her best to take care of us. But overall, between the misleading Instagram promotion, the poor hookah experience, and the lack of management presence...this just wasn't it for me. Giving Voss 2/5 for good food, a beautiful space, and a great waitress Everything else? Needs work. Unfortunately, I won't be back!

After all this deep fried, heavy southern food and grits, wanted something a little lighter. The portion was huge, and it was delicious. Onion rings were delicious. Huge plate for a side dish. Others had various wraps, and everyone loved their meals. Good tap beer selection. We had a variety of cold ones. It keeps the hookah smoke cold. They're not harsh whatsoever. The owners are always there, making sure everyone is happy. I love the fact that they allow you to play whatever music you want. If I'm ever back in Georgia I will be back.

They offer a wide range of flavors, ice hoses, and use silicone bowls, which I personally love. Everything was smooth and well-prepared. The seating area is a mix between covered and uncovered, with a small speaker playing contemporary tunes at a respectable level. There are string lights above, and I can only imagine how beautiful this all looks at night. I'd read a LOT about their fish sandwich. That it is a good size helping. That it has a great light fresh vinegar sauce with thinly sliced carrots and other crunchy veg. The fish tasted fresh fried. And I have to say, this is the Best fish sandwich I have ever tasted. I only am upset I hadn't come much sooner. I will have to return, probably on a monthly basis for that fish sandwich. There are enough pictures out there of the sandwich. Bathrooms are extremely clean. Staff is friendly and fast. Cons. They only have outdoor seating. Most of the seats are stools without backs. There were some flies and a wasp lurking in the patio. Fans were blowing away my napkins. When I paid in cash they rounded my bill up to the next dollar. Never had someone do that before. $34 for a cheesesteak, potatoes, and small drink seems to be overly priced at a take-out spot. It would be more understanding if you could dine-in or had waiter service. I ordered the Korean Cheesesteak with smashed fried potatoes and a Bourbon Peach Punch. The drink was tasty but really small to cost $10. It looked like a 6oz cup. I would prefer to pay $5 more for a full glass. The smashed fried potatoes were covered in a sauce and some of the best potatoes I have had anywhere. The cheesesteak was made with pork (also a new experience for me) and had plenty of cheese and onions.

I didn't order food (next time, then?) but we ran the gamut of drinks and hookah for a few hours and it reminded me that I actually need to book a flight to Addis or Bahir... But I digress. It's a small, cozy spot but even if it was packed I wouldn't call it crowded. And the muzikaaa.. Perfect playlist--some afrobeat, some traditional /national Ethiopian.. All love for my tastes. I'm hoping the next time I'm bending a few corners in the east and have some time to kill I can get another glimpse and maybe chop with the owner.

Periodically,the amazing servers pass around complementary Ethiopian coffee, which is delicious and an experience within itself. Servers are constantly checking in as well. Pricing was good. Unfortunately , we went on a Sunday most recently . After 11:45 pm, there was no more American music . It was strictly Ethiopian traditional music. That's fine , however that type of music isn't really easy to dance and be sexy to. A little RnB would have went a long way . The staff are fantastic, personable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. They really know their craft and are happy to share recommendations on both drinks and food. The ambiance adds so much to the experience, I recommend you to come and relax on the patio or grab a seat at the bar. There's such a great vibe all around that makes you want to stay awhile. If you're in the area, definitely stop by, you'll enjoy every bit of the atmosphere that Brick Store has been giving all this time. I will be back!

Got a text back saying they don't take reservations, it's first come, first serve, but they would do what they could to accomodate us. 4 of us were seated and we had 2 more coming before we wanted to order. The wait staff was attentive, making sure we had our beverages and if we needed anything before the 2 arrived. Once they arrived, the staff gave us a few minutes to make sure the 2 had a chance to look at the menus. We ordered appetizers to start...corn bread, sage fried pierogies and poutine. We weren't sure about the poutine because we didn't see any gravy, we did see the cheese curds on the fries, but once we finally dug in, the gravy was at the bottom. The pierogies were tasty. We asked if they could cut the cornbread so each of us could get a taste, which they did. Corn bread had a toasted texture, and the honey butter was delicious! Everyone ordered something different. One had fish and chips, which would seem to be a likely order for a pub. Their special for the day was a ruben. Another ordered a falafel sandwich, and I think 2 salmon BLT's and then one salad with rainbow trout. Portions were not overwhelming, but we realized that we were full from the appetizers and almost everyone ended up taking most of their main choices in doggie bags (boxes). As time got closer to the festival to start, it did get crowded, but the staff handled the influx of people and people were seated relatively quickly. This was a nice destination as most of the group live a drive from Decatur. Lovely afternoon visit!
