We hadn't been here in a while. It's located in a storefront connected to a gas station on Covington Highway. When we entered, we were barely greeted by anyone. The server behind the counter was pretty robotic, just fulfilling our orders. I got a small curry chicken , and Wifey got a small stew chicken. The meals came with rice, peas, and cabbage. Unlike most Jamaican restaurants, they didn't have plantains. The cashier's demeanor was just as dry as the server's. One thing I did notice was that the dining area was very clean. We packed up our food and headed home. Everything looked good and fresh. The food itself tasted okay with pretty good seasoning.  They need to work on the customer service a little. 3.5 rating

We came at the end of the day. Needless to say, they were out of some menu items like jerk chicken. (Understandable). The lady who took our order was absolutely hilarious. She was pleasant and helpful. I wanted jerk chicken but ended up getting oxtail, rice and peas, and plantain. My food was delicious. If I'm on that side of town again, I would definitely return.

I never got a chance to visit @firesiderestaurant1 during Atlanta @blackrestaurantweek; and my mom always mentions seeing a line for @firesiderestaurant1 everytime she passed by so, today we checked finally checked it out. Pros: The food is great. We ordered a medium oxtail and brown stewed chicken. For a medium serving, the portion was more than enough. The stewed chicken had a little spice to it and a different taste then what I am used to. But, like I said...it was good. The oxtails were perfect, just how I like them. I hate to do this but... Cons: I didn't receive the best customer service at all. The server had a dismissive demeanor and the cashier was on a personal call gossiping the entire time she checked me out. I can tell the staff reacts differently to their regulars ‍ The restaurant is carryout out only at the moment so, for the good food and the fact I don't have to interact with employees except to order....I would go back

I've been going to fireside Jamaican restaurant for well over 9 years I us3 to live across the street from the restaurant. I moved over 20 miles away , 8 years ago and I continue to go back-and-forth but unfortunately today will be the last time I go there. I ordered a medium jerk chicken and all the little pieces together only equal one small Piece of chicken. The chicken was dry and wasn't fresh the same for the rice and peas. The cabbage was undercooked and the two itty bitty pieces of plantains I had I could barely even taste those. I suspect that Firesode Restaurant had run out of food and was trying to stretch what they had through the end of the Sunday dinner hour. They would have done better to have closed early Because they lost a consistent customer in me. Please see the plate below

Love love love this place!!! They are abiding by CDC restraints: only 6 patrons in at a time, plexi shield to protect staff and patrons, and markers on the floor to guide customers to a safe distance. Their menu is full of Caribbean favorites. I love their breakfast, it's hearty. Whatever I order for breakfast I have to get a fried dumpling. Lunch and dinner you can't lose from vegetarian plates, to fall off the bone oxtails. They have an array of juices, desserts and patties to compliment any dish. Staff is knowledgeable and neat. Decor: inside decor is tropical and is a place to enjoy the company of a small and intimate group. When you entire you will hear music and customers who are regulars. It is true to form of a spot in the Caribbean. So if you want to enjoy the real vibes of the Caribbean enjoy a meal at fireside.

Ep. 102 of AntlantaEats 3 locations in the city. When I arrived, I saw the lines packed so I already knew this ish was gonna be bussin . The Oxtails was very delicious to the tee. I also tasted the King Fish. What I loved most about the dish was they didn't hold back on the spices (onions/peppers had that vinegar mix, it hit so great!) It's a mainly a grab and go but the Bouldercrest location does have a table. Shout out to Nancy for servicing the authentic taste!

So this restaurant came up on my feed on Instagram as one of the best Jamaican spots in Atlanta so had to give it a try. With Carribeam roots I'm very judgemental when it comes to carribean food... is this the best in Atlanta ...I personally don't think so but it was good. The brown stew chicken gravy was the bomb.. the chicken needed a tad bit of salt so did the curry chicken. The chicken patty was good.. the oxtail they let me taste was tough. The customer service was excellent so that alone will have me return.

This place is convenient not to far from me and I absolutely loved the vibe when I walked in. Customer Service was on point. Everyone had on mask definitely practicing social distancing. I love the fact that the food is right in front of you so you can see what you want to order. I ordered curry shrimp, rice & peas, one plate had cabbage the other had broccoli, with plantains and coco bread. Everything was so good I will definitely be returning soon. If you enjoy Jamaican Food check this spot out! Be sure to check out my pics...

    Curry Curried Goat

Came here on a sunday evening, been hearing good things about this restaurant from a few other people here in Georgia. I have a jamaican food from a few restaurants in the Stone Mountain Area but the food is usually missing something. The curry goat is very flavorful, i ordered the large just to get a good amount of meat. The only bad thing I can say is that the curry goat needed a bit of salt otherwise than that I would eat here again.

I ordered two lunch specials to try both just in case one wasn't so good and it turns out that both were horrible. The rice and peas on each dish had a total of four peas and one side and three peas in the other side dish. The plant's hands were so mushy that I felt like it was hospital food for someone who did not have any teeth in their mouth. The cabbage consistency was perfect however it was tasteless. The curry chicken and the stewed chicken both had very thin gravy that tasted as if the thickener was used with water and very slight chicken flavoring. Overall the whole dish just seemed to be very slimy I'm not sure what they're using but it is not a vibe. The overall customer service was good and they were very friendly however they just can't cook. I'm not sure what area in Jamaica they're from but this definitely wants again is not a vibe. I read some Google reviews that stated that celebrities Jamaican celebrities would come in to town for events and come to this restaurant. I don't care who they are if they come to this restaurant and say that they had an excellent experience with the food then they ought to be ashamed of themselves. Now I'm sitting here with two lunch specials in front of me and I am starving but can't eat it. Smh..... I just tried to drink the lemonade that came with the meal and would you believe that it also taste like water it's just yellow. I am floored!!!!!!

I asked for the 1/4 chicken with bread, a jerk patty and some cocoa bread. I remember it taking a minute to come out but WHOAAAAHH waaaaas it worth it! This spot has THE best jerk chicken I've had since I've been in the state of Georgia HANDS DOWN. Sooooo flavorful and falling off the bone. The jerk patty was even crazy dope. It was so good that I ate it by itself and was about to toss the cocoa bread I purchased with it on account of my full stomach but something said...ahhh might as well try it first... The first thing that I noticed was that she placed the patty in a bag I've never seen in a Jamaican restaurant. It was paper on the outside and aluminum on the inside...thus keeping the bread soft and heat intact. Then I bit into it...ohhh my frickin GOD! This place is amazing. Stop reading this and just GO....mic drop.

After a visit to Kroger one day and seeing Tropic Jerks next door, I figured I'd come back one day and check them out. Which I did one early weekday evening. First impressions were great when I walked inside. It wasn't a large space, but the huge wall mural of the Johnny Bus was a beautiful sight. The large windows made it nice and bright in there, the pops of yellow, green, and red were all nice touches. Very refreshing! There were two other parties in the restaurant before me so I hopped in line and checked out the menu. It's always so difficult for me to pick out what I want to eat and the specials menu made it even harder. I ended up going with jerk chicken, figuring that I'd be back again to try more options another day. Pricing was decent but I think that I'll try to come during lunch time to check out their lunch specials. After I ordered my food, my name was called about 10 min later and I grabbed my food and headed home. After finishing errands and finally getting home and ready to eat, I opened my takeout box and what a surprise I received. There was no jerk chicken but... OXTAILS? Omg. God favors me so. To the Tropic Jerks team, pls forgive me because I absolutely sat there and ate it lol. I enjoyed them! I'm sure the jerk chicken would have been great but I have no complaints obviously. Next time I go back, I sure hope they don't make a wonderful mistake like that again. ;-)
