Last night 5/23/25 I came to Atlanta for the memorial day weekend I was looking for Haitian foods I found Ole restaurant and lounge on google I ordered legume with white rice and black bean sauce I was very disappointed the legume was nasty all you taste is gloves spice (poive) the legume doesn't come with meat I don't know why they made it like that they literally took a few pieces of fried gryot to put on top of the legume, that wasn't authentic Haitian legume. This was an amazing great haitian owned restaurant. This was my first time visit and had an amazing experience. We came in on a Saturday, the music was right, no door entry fee, and the food was freaking AMAZING!! THE STAFF: the manager, Mae was so present and accommodating throughout the night, I never experience that before. She was patient, friendly, informative, approachable, and delightful. The restaurant was on hold from taking orders for 30 minutes because the kitchen was "backed up". By the time they reopened the kitchen half the menu wasn't available. Been here several times and this is our go to spot for Haitian food. It is a bit of a drive for me, but the food is so worth it. Have never had a bad meal here. The food is always amazing. There is no lack of flavor with the food. I always order the same thing, which is the Griot. The meal comes with fried pork, choice of rice, and 2 slices fried plantain. The pork is always very tender but has a great crunch on the outside from the flash fry. They do have music on the weekends and it turns into a lounge atmosphere, which seems fun, but usually I leave prior to the fun as I come in to grab dinner and go. Definitely would like to stay for the music on a future visit. It is very dim lighting at all times of the day. The servers are always very pleasant and nice. The only reason for the 4 vs the 5 stars is that there is always a long wait. I know what to expect going in now, so I know that it is going to be slow service, so I won't go when I have a time crunch. read more

I'm going to go ahead and give Ole 3.5 stars but round it up to 4. This was my first experience eating Haitian food and I was so excited to finally try it. My cousin and I went here fairly late on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty. It looks like they're taking on more of a lounge type vibe which was nice but we were underdressed and really just came for the food. Another oddity is that they had someone playing music via YouTube videos rather than having an actual DJ. Since we were seated close to the bar, the bartender took our order. I ended up ordering the tassot turkey which came with rice and plantains. I enjoyed my food but I just wish the turkey was cut a little differently. The flavor was really nice on both of the chickens. The chicken was a little bit soft for my liking. She also told me that on Thursdays they have a bouillon soup special so maybe I'll go back and try that next time. Best Haitian food I've ever eaten in my life hands down. The snapper is my favorite go to dish with the brown mushroom rice but everything else that I've tried has been just as good. The only dish that I haven't tried is the griot (fried pork) but it is my significant others favorite! I can eat the brown mushroom rice just by itself everyday.. There is nothing else that I've had that can compare to it. The bar is always well stocked as I am always looking for a new mixed concoction lol. The décor is pretty modern and clean. The ambience is great for family gatherings/dinner or for date nights with a great meal and nice hookah afterwards that they offer. There are plenty of TV's to view if that's your thing or you can show off your dance skills on the weekend as they have a live DJ. Omg sooooo good! We just went for the food and it definitely delivered! I had the fried turkey with the black rice. My friend had the lemon pepper wings, sweet plantains and fried okra. The fried turkey was sooooo delicious! It comes with a side of turkey gravy, which has hella meat it. I tried the items my friend had and they were good as well. I think the okra had too much breading, but it still had a good taste to it. The food is here is so fresh. You can tell it is made fresh to order, which I love. The ambience is very chill. They had a Dj playing and hookah is available if you'd like to order. I definitely liked the music! The reason I am taking a star off of is because of our waitress. From the outside it looks like a little hole in the wall next to the Atrium but the inside is nice. The outside definitely needs some beautification. I was a little weary when we walked up but once we started eating I forgot all about that! Some of the furniture is a little shabby but I'm sure they will upgrade that. Ole is my little home away from home. It is owned by a haitian couple. They are very friendly, always welcome feedback and constructive criticism. They are always turning the place around, every time I go, the setup is different, not sure what they are trying to go for, but eventually they will get to it. The wife is the cook, the husband, really worries about everything else. :) The food is great! I can only speak for the fried pork (griot) and the black mushroom rice (duri djondjon) since that's really all that I usually get; that comes with 2 pieces of fried plantain and some "pickliz" ( that's the haitian version of coleslaw without the mayo instead we put hot peppers). The sauce/gravy that you can put on the rice is way too oily for my preference, but aside from that - they are a go! Mili the bartender is super nice, they do have a full bar. The menu showcases some of the best meals of Haitian cuisine, vegetable stew (legume), goat (kabrit), fried fish (poisson Fri), etc ... they do "bouillon" some friday nights. They have a DJ on the weekends, so if you feel like dancing some haitian music on a weekend - that's the place to go. (I've never been but I hear that the place is always packed, and the ambience is great) Unfortunately they open at 5 PM or after 5 PM sometimes- so this isn't a place you can grab lunch at. Plenty of parking since they are in a shopping center that is mostly empty. They are close on Wednesdays and some Tuesdays, so make sure you call 1st and talk to an actual person before you make the trip. If you call at 5 you can't find anybody, call in another half hour, sometimes they do open around 6 pm. They're also good for take -out. read more
