This East African (Habesha really ) hookah lounge spot had me at first feeling like a tourist but once we settled in, this was a very memorable segue on yet another night for the ages. I didn't order food (next time, then?) but we ran the gamut of drinks and hookah for a few hours and it reminded me that I actually need to book a flight to Addis or Bahir... But I digress. It's a small, cozy spot but even if it was packed I wouldn't call it crowded. And the muzikaaa.. Perfect playlist--some afrobeat, some traditional /national Ethiopian.. All love for my tastes. June 2022 Super cozy hookah lounge 10 minutes from my house! Cozy, with huge curtained sections, and bar seating is available. Periodically,the amazing servers pass around complementary Ethiopian coffee, which is delicious and an experience within itself. Servers are constantly checking in as well. Pricing was good. Unfortunately , we went on a Sunday most recently . After 11:45 pm, there was no more American music . It was strictly Ethiopian traditional music. That's fine , however that type of music isn't really easy to dance and be sexy to. A little RnB would have went a long way . This place is lively even on a Sunday night. When you first walk in, it's noticeably foggy. At first I thought this was because of the hookah, but it's actually because of their fog machine, so this is purposely part of the ambiance. It's an Ethiopian hookah lounge, so they serve mostly Ethiopian entrees and appetizers. I wasn't too hungry so I just got an order of fries, and those were some bomb fries. The hookah is great, nice and smooth. Unfortunately they did not have both the regular and cold hose options (they need to update their menus), but it was all good. One of the best parts of this place is their music selection. You will feel the East African culture. They play mostly East African music, with some West African music, Caribbean soca and dancehall, and American hip-hop sprinkled in. Most patrons accordingly dance using Ethiopian and Eritrean dance moves. It's a very cool vibe. read more

An absurdist hole in the wall! My review is confined to their Friday- Sat nights. Though I manage to have fun every time I visit, it's definitely the bottom of the barrel for Habesha night life. It's saving grace is the seating galore! Lions, a higher-end and centrally located lounge, is a sections only seating. First impression starts with the plaza- much like BunnAmour, you and your car will be packed in like sardines. Space: 6-7 booths with NO dance floor. However, seating is complementary. A rarity in greater Atlanta. Music: Ethiopian music with nods to afrobeat. It's fun!! Drinks: overpriced for the ambiance. Hooka is base price $22 Service: servers are all female and very prompt to usher you into a booth and get your order. My main grievance here is their lack in best business practices. On one occasion, I immediately noted an incorrect Hooka flavor and they pushed back & refused to exchange the Hooka for free. I was floored! I had a great time!! It's located in a strip mall with like 8(000) other lounges, but plenty of parking. You can always "lounge hop" if you'd like. The lounge itself is small, composed entirely of sections. Depending on what time you arrive you may placed in a "common section," as was the case for me and my beau. The club is Ethiopian, a heavy mix of afrobeat/reggae and a little hip hop and r&b pumped through the speakers. The people we sat with were friendly and fun, we all ended up dancing together at one point. We ordered beers, mixed drinks, and a couple hookahs. All prices are below industry/area standard, but you can also chalk that up to the fact that there are a dozen other lounges in the same building so they need to be competitive. Service was fine, not mind blowing but far from terrible. The drinks were poured well and the hookah was great. We came in on a Tuesday night and had a fantastic time. I went here recently for a friend's birthday. We had a great time, the waitresses were gorgeous & friendly, and the people there were really nice too! They are a little small with only about 6 booths which forced people together, but thankfully we had a reserved space since my friend goes there often & she made a reservation ahead of time. The music was really cool. A lot of it was Ethiopian & sung in Arabic (I was told). It was fun to see people dance to these songs, there's lots of shoulder involved, haha! Besides that, they play pop music, I heard Bruno Mars & Lil' Jon. I ordered a drink I had seen in the Yelp photos by showing it to my waitress. She came back with it & I can only describe it as an alcoholic snow cone. It was actually great. It didn't have too much alcohol & it was super sweet! Parking was free, but when I left there were people smoking around my car. Keep in mind this place stays open to 4am! These are the only things I didn't really enjoy: They're also a hookah bar & everyone was smoking. It got super smoky inside & I'm sensitive to smoke so it was almost overwhelming. I went outside a few times to get fresh air. Another thing, the bathroom was unisex & gross. The bathroom is not well lit. There's a red light barely illuminating the space. There are certain staff members that don't know how to keep tabs of drinks. Be careful of what you order because they fool you into thinking you owe money when you really owe way less. If you are planning to get drunk keep a tab either with a phone or a sober friend as to how many drinks you have. Also be aware of old creepy men. This is my third time here and the first 2 times were ok at best. This time was horrible!! After we ordered our initial round of drinks and hookah we had to get up and find our server for literally everything else we ordered. She was in the corner the whole time busy smoking hookah with the rest of the staff. I ordered sambuka 6 mins before the kitchen was open. She said she'd put it in at 8pm. It wasn't until 830 when my boyfriend went and asked where my food was (an appetizer which shouldn't have taken more than 15 mins tops) that out sever informed him that they didn't have anymore. When she came back over with the drinks (he had to get up to order) she then said they actually did have some sambuka. I still wanted it so we RE-ordered it. It took about another 20 mins for it to finally come out. Half way through my first party it was ice cold. We didn't complain because we would have had to get up and find someone to do that. We stayed to have more drinks (which were actually really good, But take like 10 mins for each round to come out. And we had to find someone each time to order... ugh!!) When we finally got the check the drinks (which were essentially blue mother fuckers) were like $13 a piece. This isn't Atlanta or Gwinnett, it's Decatur there is no reason drinks should cost this much! Ridiculous! Will not be returning and we hope you guys do the same. Horrible!!!! Stay away!!!! read more

A friend and I tried this place late one night after she came to town spur of the moment. It was anSunday night laaaaaate night. It was 2am when we got there. You will overlook this place if you don't know what you're looking for-small door, inconspicuous. This is a very small spot, but, the smaller the club the bigger the party! This is a really small chill hookah spot. There's a bar in the back corner, couches and big chairs all along the walls separated by sheer curtains. No real standing space except for a few feet in front of the bar. Our server found us seats quickly, got our drinks and hookah delivered in less than 10 mins. I think this is an Ethiopian establishment bc that's the only food they offered. Tried it for the first time and it was really good. We ate chopped steak with a spongy bread-finger food for sure, lol. Every suggestion the server made-hookah flavor and meal option was on point. Drinks were awesome, not watered down at all. Fun liittle spot. The look of it is really appealing though it is really small so prepare to meet some new friends if you go on a busy night. Hookahs are good and they have plenty of drinks. Definitely disappointed. I went there with my girlfriend a few weeks ago. The music was way too loud to the point where it was tough to communicate with anyone. The place is pretty small and kinda cramped. I ordered a screwdriver, which was slightly below average. My girlfriend ordered a sex on the beach, which was about the same. Plus they were 10 bucks a drink for an 8-ounce cup full of meh. The hookah was decent at first, but got harsh very quickly...wasn't worth the 20 bucks. After 15 minutes of being there we spent the next 15 minutes trying to get a waiter's attention for the bill so we could get the hell outta there. Definitely would NOT recommend. read more

The Dj was good the wed before thanksgiving. Service was a bit slow but there was only one waiter for the entire lounge (weird). The drinks were ok, but a bit pricy.
