After dining at a Thai restaurant on the same strip, I decided to stop in for a jam session at TenAtl. This is a cigar friendly lounge with great cocktails, hookah, live music, and a very nice, mature atmosphere that makes for an enjoyable night out. Many talented musicians come through and consistently put on great live shows. I visited for the Savannah Atlanta jam session crossover, where a band from Savannah came up to perform. The 4K Band did an amazing job and brought great energy to the room. The live music events typically start around 10 p.m., so it is better suited for night owls. While TenAtl does not have a kitchen, they do serve cocktails and allow guests to bring in their own food, which is a nice convenience. Between the music, the crowd, and the overall vibe, TenAtl is a great spot for good music and a good time. read more

Monday night Live Jazz and art in East Atlanta was the relaxation I didn't know I needed until I was seated. The lady at the door was very friendly and after giving her my name she asked where we wanted to sit. I informed her it was my first time there and she said oh well in that case I'm going to give you the couch because you are the first people here and it's your first time. So that small gesture made me happy. After me and my best friend were seated the bartender came over and took our drink order. I ordered a Tito's and Cran and he ordered a Bud Light. I started a tab. They don't serve food but they do allow you to bring food in. The band arrived and started setting up. The venue had a very cozy atmosphere. The live jazz was soothing the band sounded amazing and the host was great. The host also was the person playing the drums. They allowed others to walk in and join the band so there was a singer and a saxophonist and another pianist. An artist was doing a live painting. For the second round of drinks I ordered an old fashioned. It was good but very strong. I left out for a few minutes to go grab dessert from insomnia cookies and brought it back to the venue. We stay from 9 PM to midnight and enjoyed the entire evening. The tickets were $15 per person and I definitely look forward to coming back. Nice Chill spot....Came here over the weekend. Got here a little early and they wasn't open yet. We waited outside and people watch until they opened. This area is very busy it's plenty of bars/restaurants on the strip. Once they open we walked in a sat on the couch/sectional. It was a few ppl at the bar and than it was us. Perfect for me - not too many ppl in the place. It's seating area outside if you want to sit outside. The bartender came over took our drink and hookah order. We had the house special for the hookah flavor ($30). Bartender was really friendly and checked on us from time to time. The hookah was good and fresh. Drinks were strong and music was very good. The removal of one star stems from the fact that I'm not a drinker for real and had two manhattan's made with Woodford reserves and didn't even get a buzz. One usually has me feeling tight and right. TEN ATL gets four stars for a great DJ and cool concept. Located in East Atlanta Village on a strip with several bars and lounges, TEN ATL offers an urban bar with a "divey" feel. You definitely get the feeling you could be at someone's house relaxing the way the space is set up. When you walk in there are high top tables to the left and booths to the right. In front are couches and single chairs that face the DJ and projector, which broadcasts live TV. PROS: - Great DJ. We showed up on a Sunday and he was playing a mix of a lot of old school joints, it was a vibe though - Attentive staff - Hookah is A-OK - The ambiance is super chill and relaxing - Mixed crowd, pretty crowded for a Sunday - Two screens, one large, one regular-sized (maybe 50") behind the bar showing the game CONS: - Space was poorly utilized, a lot of people were standing to wait for seats or tables. There wasn't anywhere to put their drinks while they hung out and people bum rushed open seats as soon as they became available - Soda is flat, mixed drinks weren't that great because of it I would definitely go back to TEN ATL for the vibe. It's definitely a place you can start or end your night at. I can't rate the other aspects of this bar such as the live music or food but I will update my review next time. read more

Cool little hole in the wall in East Atlanta Village. While bar hoping we stumbled upon Ten ATL on a Saturday. There is no cover charge. The spot is small, there is a small bar with a few seats, about 3 high top tables and several seats throughout if you are lucky enough to get one. The ambiance is chill, the lights were very dim. There was a DJ and the music was awesome, it was a good medium between modern and old school. The atmosphere was very comfortable half of the guys and women were wearing sneakers and the other half was somewhat dressed up, the crowd seemed to be 30 and over but it's hard to tell in the dark. The drinks were overpriced, the bartender told me a lemon drop with well liquor would be $8 and charged me $13.50 for my Lemon Drop with Kettle One. My friend ordered a Texas Margarita and was only charged $10 by another bartender. My bartender seemed to have pulled the price she qutoted me out her butt so that alone will prevent me from coming back to this spot especially when there are 20 other bars in walking distance that's not over charging for drinks that won't leave me with a headache. Overall, if you don't mind paying a lot for premium liquor and want a cool little hole in the wall to chill at while in East Atlanta Village , this is your spot. read more

I've been meaning to review this place for a while, but last night was it for me. Every time that we've came to TEN, there is another level of frustration. First, it is very small and intimate - I actually like that about this spot. What I don't like, however, is that there is never a host to seat you, especially since you have to try to see where there is an empty area. We've actually had to leave twice before because no one came to assist, and we couldn't see any available seats. Secondly, this establishment is KNOWN for their $10 dollar hookahs every day of the week before 10 pm. Apparently, this isn't the case anymore. We got the bill yesterday, and saw where it was $30. We questioned the waitress, to which she acted so surprised to hear us ask about this. GIRL, I know we are not the first patrons to ask you about this, especially with this being the only reason why it was so packed previously (I promise, yesterday being a Sunday was very dead - I was shocked and even made the comment to my bf). After getting the check, we now see why. Be honest with your patrons and upfront INITIALLY. If the hookah is no longer $10, tell your customers that before they order! I don't know who is managing this place, but they're wrong as hell for even telling their waitresses to lie and act surprised. I can say this confidently that just with the previous reviews of many people speaking on the $10 hookah, and with us going before recently (literally in January) and it was still $10, they are full of shyt. After having a horrible experience with service at OLG, I found this place online & figured why not chk it out since it was my bday wknd. It's was around 9pm on a Thursday 2 wks ago & I was not disappointed. While it's a small spot - I loved how quaint it was. And man oh man when the band came on it was GREAT!! Such talented artists. While there was no where to sit, we found a little corner by the bar & bathroom & just chilled there. We were dancing nonstop so it didn't bother us. The DJ came on after & played some reggae (I'm bias since I'm Jamaican & all lol) & tons of top hip hop songs to rock to. I'm not a hookah fan but next time I'll surely chk out their cigars. Stopped by this lounge a couple Friday's ago and I wasn't really impressed. I was told they had $10 hookahs and I wanted to check it out. I ordered two different hookah flavors. One was nasty and the other was just okay. The hookah burned quickly and didn't last long. I guess you get what you pay for. They didn't serve any food. However, my waitress told me I could purchase food elsewhere and bring it in. I wasn't too impressed with the wait time on my hookah and waiting for my order to be taken as it was not crowded. My drink was just okay, nothing special of spectacular. I most likely will not be back to this establishment. read more

This is one of my favorite places in EAV (East Atlanta Village) they do alot of shows here. Since it's the last building of the street they have food vendors and people gathering which I love. I went here this past Saturday and really enjoyed myself. I was looking around for a nice chill spot that wasn't too expensive and with great vibes and this hit it for me. I can't speak on drinks because I went specifically for the hookah. I was able to get a table upon walking in (yay!). I did love the set up with the dim lighting and couch seating. I will say it's best to get there early as you can to get a seat at either the bar, table or couch areas because they seem to fill quickly. 1.Free parking (most people know how you have to pay to park almost EVERYWHERE in Atlanta so this was def a plus) 2. Just like other reviews you are able to bring in outside food as I saw many people do. My experience was great because I wanted to go to a very chill spot with great music and good hookah. I'm writing this review while it's fresh on my mind. Just left this spot and I'm disheartened. I'll tell you why... Came to this spot a couple weeks ago on my wife and I's weekly date night. We actively look for black businesses to support and we stumbled upon this spot while heading to Hippin Hops. That review is posted on my profile as well and I DO recommend. The first time we came to this spot it was a VIBE. Joanne the bartender was extra nice the spot was clean and we were told that a live band was performing at about 10 so we went to hippin hops, ate and reserved our bar seats for the show. $20 a person. Came back after eating and the show was amazing. Left feeling good because we supported a black owned business and had a good time doing it. We came to this spot tonight and it wasn't the same. We ate at hippin hops again tonight, which was dope, and headed to Ten. When we arrived we paid our $40 and was directed to a section to sit and watch the show. Sounds good right? Here's the problem. Our view was obstructed by people standing up right in front of the band. My wife didn't want me to tell them to move, which I was eager to do but she knows me and how I rock, so she opted to tell the employees. To their credit they did ask for the patrons to move but they didn't. Annoyed I tried to grin and bear it but on principle I just can't. The lead singer in the band that we saw the first time was in the section near us and tried to tell them to move. They didn't. I told my wife when Joanne comes around again that we wanted our check. She came and we asked for the check. In between that time I saw the employees looking at us KNOWING that I was upset about the obstructed view but they did nothing. When we got our check we were asked by the employees if WE wanted to move to different seats. Why do WE have to move when we paid to sit somewhere and watch the show? We paid for the hookah and the drinks and left. We were there for less than 30 mins. I don't like a few things. Slow service. No service and bad service. This isn't one of those rants about black businesses. I'll still support any and all of them that I possibly can. This is about business. Patrons should be catered to. Taken care of. It wasn't our job to move or to tell anyone to move. The business dropped the ball. To Joanne, thank you for your service. You've done your job. I did lie to you tho...I won't be coming back. Like I said in my other review, it takes two times for me to make my mind up about a business. I'm not saying I don't recommend this spot, I'm just saying they won't see my dollars again. read more

I'm not sure what happened but I am so disappointed in the changes, you have to pay to get in now, hookah is $30 and the drink specials are almost non existent. So I went to this place on a Friday, and it seems to be a cool place. I'm perfectly fine that it's not a giant place with people everywhere! So, I only chose this place because I love hookahs and online it's advertised as Hookah $10 before 10pm... bullshit. I went with a friend and we had a hookah, and 3 drinks each...out bill was $125!!! The hookah was not $10, it was $30 with $15 refills, which took forever. Now the band, especially the drummer, was on point! Also the drinks were delicious, but very small for $15. I advised the bartender of the online add, her response was, "yeah we stopped that after Super Bowl..." WTF?! Then take it offline. It's a cool place, but I felt screwed! During a short visit through ATL I stopped here and had a great time. Friendly people, goodservice ahd great atmosphere. It was definetly a party vibe on the Saturday night I was there and I was feeling it. My credit card got away from me and there ended up being a couple of charges that didn't make sense however when I called to get some assistance, manager Olivia was the most patient, helpful person I have dealt with in management. She patiently walked me through what happened and made the necessary corrections. Whoever hired Olivia knew what they were doing. She's definitely got the right stuff for management and gets "customer service", a rarity these days. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back. read more
