Chopped fresh jerk chicken with jerk bbq sauce. On coco bread. Very good.
Trisha J.

Service is kind and humble. Ordered fresh chopped bbq jerk chicken on coco bread. Jerk bbq sauce was amazing on jerk chicken. Very tasty and mild. Have a pic this time as I've been there several times. Will try oxtails next. It's hole in wall, food is fresh and cooked with love. Stop by yall and try it, you will not be disappointed.

Your mom told you don't judge a book by its cover and this place really leans into that. They only offer takeout so be prepared to wait till you get home. I got the curry goat & jerk chicken combo with rice and beans and plantains. The jerk chicken was the star, so good! They give you tons of rice and beans. It cost about $20 but the amount they gave was worth it. Parking: there are some spots on the side of the building

I had the restaurant cook my turkey for Christmas and it was amazing. It was very moist and very flavorful. All of my guests enjoyed it. They will cook turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I love Jamaican food especially jerk, but since I became a pescatarian 15 years ago, it's hard to find jerk fish. I've passed this place so many times but assumed they wouldn't have anything I could eat. Today I decided to stop in. At the time the only fish dish prepared was escovitch, which I also like, but I had my heart set on jerk. The owner/chef was so nice and accommodating, he made jerk salmon for me on the spot! And it did not disappoint! All those great jerk flavors with the right amount of heat, fantastic! While I realize I may not be able to get made to order every time, depending on how busy they are, I will definitely go back! So happy to find this gem in my neighborhood.

I'd been wanting to check this place out for a while since I pass it all the time on my way to the farmers market and a friend of mine told me the food was good. I came in late on a Saturday. There were pictures of several celebrities on the wall. It's definitely a hole in the wall/shack. I wasn't greeted by the lady at the counter. It was actually kind of weird. She was yelling at one guy to get another guy and it seemed like I was bothering her. I literally almost walked out. Everything looked dry honestly. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and callaloo. The jerk chicken chicken had a lot of flavor, but I could tell it had been sitting out for a while. The rice and peas and callaloo were decent as well. Honestly, I wouldn't go out of my way to return here at all. The attitude from the lady that I encountered was off putting and the food don't really make up for it.

Great. Affordable and taste great. Next to post office. Quick stop and good meal. Lots of choice. Had the jerk chicken.

I've been going to this restaurant for years. I stopped going to other Carribean restaurants on a regular occasion once I found this place. The food is delicious it's close in the neighborhood. You will see the chef in countless pictures with celebrities in his establishment. I got the large oxtail plate with double peas and rice and Mac and cheese. 3 vegetables choice comes with the plate. I also got my favorite drink Sorrell Tea.

I've passed this place in Decatur for years, but for some reason never made it in. Well, I finally stopped by to pick up a late lunch. They have a small parking lot, which should be big enough for its patrons; you shouldn't have any problem finding an open spot. We entered the very small shop and were greeted warmly. We took a few minutes to figure out what we wanted. Wifey ordered a large Stew chicken with Mac and Cheese, rice and peas, and plantains. I ordered the Chicken Roti. We could see the staff putting the dishes together on the other side of the plexiglass, and we were ready to dig in. I didn't notice any steam coming off the food; that should have been a clue. Well, we packed up everything and headed home. We started to dig in, and we were both a little disappointed. Not only was the food not hot, it was a little bland. Wifey and I both agreed about the seasoning; both dishes needed some salt or some authentic Jamaican spices.

Always love to stop by this local hotspot when running errands. The staff was friendly and the food was coming out hot. It was so delicious and I even have some lunch for tomorrow. Thank you

I was getting my car fixed at the shop next door when I noticed Caribbean Chicken & Fish. It's a bit of a hole in the wall but trust me when I say they do not disappoint! It's located off the side of the road so keep your eyes peeled, but it's hard to miss with all the smoke coming from the smoke pits! I felt like as soon as I walked in I was instantly transported to Jamaica; with that being said be prepared for the Jamaican banter from the owner lol I ended up ordering the curry goat roti and 10/10 would recommend. I started to taste it in the car and couldn't stop eating! It had the roti, curry chic peas and potatoes, with curry goat..Honestly the best Jamaican food I've had in a long time!

Stumbled upon this gem on my way to the Farmers Market. It's right next to the Caribbean market. You know the best food comes from the little shacks lol; so I def had to make that U turn and pull up. We walked right in and looked at the menu. They have breakfast, lunch specials, and dinner. We only got beef patties and fresh lemonade. I will definitely be back to try more because everything looked really good.

Unique authentic Jamaican food. When people talk about hole in the wall authentic delicious food, this is the place. The only problem is what to get because the menu is extensive. From the old faithful oxtail and goat stews to drum wood smoked jerk chicken. Highly recommend a callaloo patty. It's seasoned so well with a slight heat that you'll probably want to get several not just one.

Our server was really nice and helped explain the menu to us because we had questions for sure. For food: I got a beef patty and skillet corn bread while my friend had a dish with green bananas. I thought the beef patty was good but the corn bread was a bit hard although the berry jam did make it a little softer. My friend thought her dish was just alright. The ambiance for the place was great and I enjoyed the vibe. But the food was just alright.

I heard mostly positive things about this restaurant from a few family members, so I was curious to check it out. This Caribbean/Southern fusion spot is located as the anchor of a strip mall with other restaurants next door. The great thing is that there is plenty of parking. We came on a Saturday evening; thankfully it was not crowded, so we were able to sit down immediately. Food: I ordered the stewed chicken wings which comes with plantains and jasmine rice. I also ordered a side of roasted brussel sprouts. The wings were very good, falling off the bone tender. I also loved the flavoring of the rice, and the plantains were perfectly sweet. I was not a big fan of the brussel sprouts. They had a thick honey sauce on them that was overpowering, and they were very soft in texture. The positive side is that they give you a ton of food for the price. Service: There weren't many staff working this evening from what I could see. Our server greeted us promptly and checked on us several times before we ordered food. Once we ordered our food, it honestly went down hill. It just took extremely long to get anyone's attention for help. It also took close to 30 mins just to get our check. When the check came, they initially said they couldn't split it and added an automatic 20% gratuity. On their site, it says they do that for parties of 4 or more, but we were only a party of 3. The manager let the server split the check, but they would not remove the gratuity. I always tip well, so it wasn't the end of the world, it was just the principle for me. While I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, I might consider checking them out again for brunch.

I've been to the location on mountain industrial Blvd twice. It's not listed on Yelp or Google…read more Usually when I patronize Jamaica resturants I stick to chicken or oxtail, but the first time I went out of my comfort zone and bought the curry goat. That decision paid off nicely. The goat was tender and plentiful and bursting with flavor and had a little kick. It also ontained 2 huge chunks of savory potatoes which broke up the monotony of the meat. The rice and beans was delicious and the fried plantains were sweet and caramelized and nicely balanced and the savory goat. Honestly I didn't try the cabbage because boiled/steamed cabbage is not my thing. I got a medium which was a huge portion. That day o almost ate myself into a blissful coma. Yesterday I returned to the location on mountain industrial Blvd. This time I ordered the trusty oxtail. The food this time was unremarkable. The rice and beans were a little waxy like it was heated up from yesterday's batch. The plantains were still sexy of course. The cabbage, I wouldn't touch with a 20 ft pole. The oxtails were just ok. Not the best I've had. It also a tad bitter like the cook use too much gravy browning. I will return and try the jerk chicken and a beef patty.

I tried the jerk shrimp eggroll which I did enjoy. It was spicy, but it was extremely small for the price and they give you a few drops of sweet-and-sour sauce to eat it with and really you need that container to be full or I needed to have 2 because it was not enough. I also bought the popular oxtail sandwich. I don't know what I was thinking ordering that. I have never been a fan of Jamaican macaroni and cheese even as a child. I never choose macaroni as my side at any Jamaican restaurant. I was hoping that the oxtail overpowered the sandwich and it did not. They put most of the oxtail in the middle cross section, but when you deconstructed it, it's mostly dry macaroni and cheese. I'm not a person who likes to eat things together. If I buy a patty and Coco bread, I eat the cocoa bread separate from the patty, not the patty inside like a sandwich. I basically deconstructed it and tried to eat everything separate. It's Coco bread with a patty inside stuffed with oxtail and macaroni and cheese. I will say it is a hefty portion, as it should be for the price. It's enough either have 1/2 for one sitting and other later or two people can eat off of this one sandwich. I could not tell how the oxtail was flavored because it was so much macaroni and in mine once I took it apart. I will say I think the patty crust was good and you can't mess up Coco bread but I will not be re-ordering this. I will return and try other things but for me, this was just not it and I don't understand the hype. Creative sure, good, no. This for me would be amazing without macaroni in it. I'm gonna ask them if that's something they would do or if it just comes as it comes.
