Skip the tossed salad... Fried shrimp overcooked. Parmesian redfish awesome! Casual atmosphere, good service.

So so service and small portions are keeping me from giving this place more stars. To be fair portions are of a sensible size, but when food is well prepared more is always better. I had a mango salsa dressed mahi mahi that came with seasond black beans and yellow rice and husband had bacon wrapped shrimp skewers that came with seasoned red beans and white rice. Flavors and freshness were pleasing and my fish was perfectly cooked. His bacon wrapped shrimp were very good and I generally do not care for them all that much. My family and group of eight ate at mango Marley's Wednesday evening. Seems like a lot of locals around the bar and a few tables of folks ordering dinner like us. The food was just a midge above average and the prices seemed quiet a bit higher than two other places we ate in Mexico Beach while on vacation. I think my shrimp and fish plate was about $20. Kind of steep. Also- my father in law wanted some hush puppies and was sternly told 'we don't have hush puppies' kind of like that was a bad question. Well when the service started off poor I should have cut my losses and went somewhere else. The server made it obvious that he had better places to be and more important things to do other than wait on, or be even slightly pleasant, to customers. It's loud. Live music, great food cheap beer. Our trip was in late May on a wednesday around 530. We had pulled pork sandwich, broiled shrimp platter, and wings. The appetizer was sweet potato chips. To drink we had water, tea and Yengling. The pork was prepared on site in the back of the place. It was perfectly cooked. Better than any BBQ joint I've been to. Then slaw was vinegar based and a great compliment to the sandwich. The broiled shrimp was tender and tasty. Fries wear ok and the beans delicious. I had the jerk chicken spice on my wings. Get the "Mango Burger". They are just a bit pricy but they are decent for a bar/restaurant on the beach. I used to live there and it was my favorite restaurant. They also accept credit cards which is not the norm for the area. read more

The food here was excellent, well worth the wait. I had a fried fish sandwich with fried plantains. Perfectly toasted bun and tender fish, great sauce, best plantains I've had in a long time. My partner had the Kahuna burger and said it was great. He also had the fried sweet potatoes, which I had and enjoyed (they are dusted with fine cinnamon sugar). The service was attentive and friendly. The price is a little high, but well worth the quality of the food. Overall, a great dining experience. read more

The service was great. Friendly staff. I asked for lemon and was served immediately with several pieces. The food was sub par. The yellow rice was dry lacked flavor and probably came from a box. The fried fish sandwich was eh, served on a slightly toasted bun with iceberg lettuce, thick beautiful tomatoes and too thick onions. Over priced. $17 for Fried fish sandwich, yellow rice and a cola. Skip this restaurant for the food. You are better off to have beers at the bar and hang out with the staff. read more

Nice place to go and hang out, its a bar and grill but friendly enough to take children. Live music several days a week. The wings are the best in town and probably the best I have had in the panhandle. Burgers are decent and the chicken sandwich is pretty tasty as well. The place is a local hangout, visit there more than once and you will start to recognize everyone. Called to order dinner to pick up and bring back to the condo because my two young kids (1 and 4) were exhausted from a day on the beach and were in no condition to sit still at a restaurant. The person who answered the phone informed me they were too busy to take our order. Average food, below average service. We ordered the Hail Mary nachos and the extra hot garlic Teriyaki wings. The nachos were very good but the wings were not as described. While the flavor was good, there was really no heat with the wings. Service was extremely slow and not very personable. We waited over 10 minutes for 2 bottles beers and the server did not have any other tables. She was never on top of refilling a drink or even asking if we need anything else. 2nd visit was as great as the first! Love the fried plaintains and fried mushrooms! Generous portions...great service. Love the laid back atmosphere. Only downside is I thought the wings were slightly undercooked and could have used more seasoning... I ordered teriyaki and they were almost naked. read more

We came here on a Monday night, so it was not very busy. We ordered and it took like 25 minutes to come out. I got chicken and it was stringy and not very good. Server was just kind of wandering around. We basically had two servers. Just not very good all in all. read more

I would give Mango Marley's about a 4.5 rating we're it available here. I had the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp. It was delicious. Some of the best shrimp I have ever eaten. The waitress did a very good job. She was very pleasant. Attentive but not too much where it disturbs your meal. I would definitely go there again. read more

Chicken mango salad I my favorite. And there wings are great also. I really havent ever had anything bad there. I love I can get plantation you can them just any where. I love they have live music though I have to agree with some other post some times it can get a bit to loud but the bands are great so don't stop having them. So people must rate this so highly because it's one of the few options. We were a party of 12 and our server handled us great! There aren't many options on the menu. I chose the fish basket. No bueno. Fish tasted like Captain D's only soggier. Definitely not worth the amount of our tab! Would not revisit. Try the place next door instead. First time visiting Marleys. Service was top notch! The beer selection was disappointing as they had one local tap and the standard offerings on the rest. Ordered the wings as suggested and was extremely impressed with the quality. Wings were big and quite tasty. Will be back to try some other favors. read more

There are several choices for anyone and any age group. The prices are about what you'd expect on a beach. We had a group of 13 people and everyone's order was right and didn't take as long as we expected. It's good casual beach dining. Our server January was probably the best server I've had. Ordered the jerk chicken sandwich when i went there after work today, I could not even PERCEIVE the sensation of jerk spice on this sandwich, all I could taste was the pineapple and the taste of sugar in their "jerk sauce".. The menu claims they have a "HOT jerk sauce" option, which I noticed too late, perhaps that one has some taste... went before 6, draft beers are half off for happy hour, they don't have much in the way of a draft selection, my Yeungling beer was served in a medium sized plastic cup.. Got the salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, the dressing was OK. I sat at the bar, service was friendly and prompt, both the bartender and cook were friendly and chatty, but the place was almost empty, as it is January.. I understand they have live bands on Wednesdays and Fridays and the bartender/waitress told me it gets pretty lively then, not sure yet.. Killer Seafood definitely has better food than this place.. Positive features of this place is it is relatively large and they have several TVs. They had the schedules of various televised sporting events on chalkboards on the wall, so I guess they are at least trying to be a sportsbar. Bartender told me they get crowds for college football games or car races sometimes.. car races? this is the South I guess.. If you want to try real Jamaican jerk chicken , go to J's International Market in Panama City Beach on a Friday or Saturday, to eat Jamaican jerk chicken prepared by actual Jamaicans.. No one Jamaican has anything to do with "Mango Marley's", the name is just for image, although they do have a couple attempts at Caribbean cuisine on the menu.. read more

The worst customer service ever. Took an 45 min to get our food, we were the only customers, and all three sandwiches, which were the same, were cold when they finally arrived. The waitress and other staff continued to go out the front door for smoke breaks in front of us. read more

You are warned right on the front page of the menu that they will not be in any hurry...believe them. It took fifteen minutes for a waitress to take our drink order. I guess if I had several drinks, my rating might be better...but I didn't, and I had a mediocre lunch of bacon-wrapped shrimp with red beans and rice. The shrimp were way overdone, the red beans were left overs from a previous day, and the rice was instant. There are better places to eat in town and next time I will eat at one of them. read more

I want to see local business do well even in off season as it is right now March 1st, but not just because they are open. Ordered take out wings, Caesar salad and fried mushrooms that they boast are fried to perfection...not so much. The salad which should be croutons, parmesan and mixed greens was ok. Added cheese and croutons once I got home. Used my own dressing...As for the wings?! It's possible to be over cooked yet have under cooked chicken skin. I didn't think so, but it has been proven. The bill was under $45, so what do I expect? Well, for that much I expect at least one to be decent. Sorry Marley, the rating of 3 was for your friendly staff.
