Thursdays at 2:30 is when you can get it, and you'd better head over because there's no guarantee they'll have any left by Friday (but check!) It's that good. First time staying in Mexico beach and stayed for 8 days. We went to shell shack 4 times during our stay and it was phenomenal! Nick helped us out every time and told us how much we needed (just my boyfriend and I) and how to prepare it. They also steamed some snow crab, oysters and shrimp for us with different seasonings. Steaming only took about 20 mins even on their busiest night and it went by even quicker as we got to browse the store. Golden tile and snapper were delicious. Came from PC with my fiancé for a beach day and wanted some seafood. Looked for nearby places that we hadn't been to before and found this gem. For a place that sells seafood you couldn't tell at all. The place was SOOOOOO clean. As you walk in you cannot smell any seafood at all which is so surprising. We got two lbs of steamed shrimp, they were very fresh and priced very well. They have a lot of souvenirs for tourists as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Snow crab seasoned with Old Bay was awesome. Very fresh and right on time. Ordered scallops, but will definitely come back for the shrimp.

We got snow crab legs steamed with Slap Ya Mama seasoning and the small shrimp steamed with Old Bay seasoning. Service was excellent, and he didn't mind our questions. Crab legs were so good and the shrimp was delicious! Tender, not over cooked, and perfectly seasoned. This is my favorite place so far on my vacation. We have been here four times and can't wait to go back for more. The first day, we got shrimp and T-shirts. If you're into sea shells like I am, then the Shell Shack in Mexico Beach is the place to be! As its name obviously suggests, the Shell Shack sells shells. A lot of them. Tons of them. All kinds and all colors and all at competitive prices. They also sell all kinds of other gift shop type items as well as sea food. I can't comment on the sea food since I hate sea food. But if the shells that the Shell Shack sells are any kind of barometer, then I'd bet that their sea food is also top notch for those people who are into eating the things that live in the aforementioned shells (and, alternatively, that swim in the same water where the sea shells are located). While on vacation we stopped in & grabbed some fresh shrimp to cook at the house & some souvenirs. The shrimp needed a lot of cleaning (part of the fun!) but was very fresh, large, & tasty! The store has tons of shells (hence the "shell" shack) & great prices on fresh seafood. A great benefit was that they didn't close down from 2-5 pm like 90% of the towns shops & restaurants do.
