For it being a food truck I was surprised that Killer Seafood has some of the best seafood I have had in the area. Before the hurricane they had a dine in restaurant which I hope they get back one day. They do have an outdoor seating area which is covered, but the heat and wind here can be brutal. I have dropped by for lunch a couple of times and my last visit I got the shrimp po-boy which was amazing. I try something different each time, so next time I look forward to trying the gator bites and maybe a fish sandwich. read more

Wanted to drive to Mexico Beach from Panama City Beach just to find a quieter beach for a few hours (PCB is Spring Break madness y'all!) Checked Yelp for a good lunch spot suggestion and this was it! I don't do food trucks often (I really should!) And when I pulled in I realized I made a great decision. A line of about 10 people in front of me. It moved quickly. Big menu of things like fish tacos, shrimp po'boys, and fish platters, etc. yummy sides or coleslaw and hush puppies. I was excited. Put in my order, turned around and there's like 20 people behind me. Again, It's like a smooth running machine. I stood near a lady from Georgia who said she saw this place on TikTok. My food came in maybe 15 min. I took it to my car and pulled into a beach view spot across the road. Dinner with a view! I got the tuna tacos with hush puppies and the grilled shrimp po'boy. I'll say, I didn't care for the cheese on the tacos. I think it really needs a pico or salsa of some sort. I ended up just eating the tuna pieces and dipping them in the sauce that I think was meant for the hush puppies. Maybe it was sauce for the tacos. Wasn't sure. On to the sandwich. Really good bread. Tons of shrimp. I wanted a bit more sauce though. I got coleslaw with it. I wasn't given a fork. I guess there was a place to get that. But I did order food To Go. Thought a fork would be added. Great late lunch with two of my boys and a girl. I had Bay scallops that were awesome, and had fish tacos. Regular tacos, and quesadilla!

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch as we rolled into town. It had good reviews and seemed like a great way to start our trip. Not the case. We both got the grouper bites, which were a decent size but didn't have any flavor other than tasting like they had sat in old oil for far too long. The fries were decent but the hush puppies had zero flavor other than just tasting like cornmeal. On top of this, the tables our under an awning where there were zero fans, nothing, so it was HOT as Hades. Very disappointed and have no plan to return. read more

After several visits over the past couple years, I'm confident awarding Killer Seafood a solid 4-star rating. Granted, I always go for the fish tacos, usually tuna, but these things are seriously good! Be sure to ask for slaw on them, unless you prefer your tuna tacos with lettuce & cheese, but honestly, who likes them that way? Great little beach-town vibe, with indoor or patio seating. The service is always solid. Like so many casual eateries in these parts, Killer is cash-only. Order at the bar, and pay after eating. We had great service from the moment we arrived. I ordered the fried shrimp and scallops platter. The shrimp and scallops were delicious. They weren't over battered and the scallops melted in your mouth. My wife and Daughter in Love ordered the bread bowls filled with shrimp and scallops and said they were delicious as well. My son and daughter ordered po boys that were delicious. Our future son in law ordered the grilled shrimp and said it was delicious as well. This was really good. I was all around impressed with this place. I will say the atmosphere is family friendly but not young family. The music was really loud and kind of tight on the inside. I got the killer tacos with grilled tuna and coleslaw as a side. Amazing flavors. Even if you are not a seafood lover, you will love these tacos. My wife got the catch of the day tacos with corn tortillas. I believe it was grouper today. It was good, but not like the grilled tuna. Order this with coleslaw on em. It will be amazing. We ordered the kids hotdogs and I was impressed with the fact that they use Nathan's all beef hotdogs for their kids meals. They where grilled perfectly and the buns had grill marks as well. I'm using my first Yelp review on Killer Seafood, and here's why: About two years ago, I came down to Mexico Beach with my family on vacation. My parents kept raving about the fish tacos at Killer Seafood. My mom, who said she would never order a fish taco ordinarily, said she decided to try them when she walked into the restaurant and saw every other table eating them. Since then, my parents were hooked. So, we walked down to the little restaurant, waited in line for about 15 minutes and ordered the tacos. They came out, I took a bite, and I've been dreaming of them ever since. The tuna was seared and melt in your mouth and the toppings and sauce were delicious. Fast forward to last night. I've been in Mexico Beach vacationing for a week now and dying to get my hands (and mouth and taste buds..) on those tacos. Would they be even half as good as I remembered? My boyfriend and I walked over in our clothes we'd been in at the beach all day (this place is no frills, for sure) and ordered the tacos with fries, slaw and a basket of hush puppies. Like many reviewers have described, you order at the counter, pay with cash only and receive a number. It didn't take long for our food to come out and once it did, I took that first anticipated bite.. HOLY JESUS CHRIST ON A SUNDAY these fish tacos are where it's at, people. They were even better than I remembered--I mean, how often does that happen in real life and not in your dreams?? I've seen a lot of reviewers on here say the staff is rude or in a rush. It's true that the staff isn't gonna chat you up about sea stories at the register but so what? Order your food, sit down, enjoy a beer and wait for heaven on a plate in the form of fish tacos to make its way over to your table. Was so excited to try KSF but after waiting almost 2 hours on the wait list and trying multiple times to just do a to go order....The restaurant said they were closed at 8:20pm to those who were not seated yet. Very disappointed after seeing such glowing reviews. Unfortunately the bad customer service by Kim and the older gentleman working there left such a bad taste that we will never we back...I don't care how good the food is. I am shocked at the lack of respect for the customer. Was told by the management that "we don't need your money." I will gladly go somewhere else. While the food is good, the service is HORRIBLE. They are incredibly impatient and rude no matter how busy or not busy they are, the food takes SO LONG no matter how small or simple the order is, and they will never admit or apologize fault when they make mistakes, which they frequently do. Favorite place to eat on the Florida Panhandle. Killer cooks and serves the freshest seafood to be found at a reasonable price for all that you get. We try to eat here once a month and have been for a couple of years and the food has always been perfect. Great group working here and they seem to really work well together. I wish I could give Killer Seafood 5 stars. The shrimp & scallop bread bowl was great! Spicy and in a very tasty bread bowl. Plenty of shrimp and scallops. Loved the hush puppies and the jalapeño poppers. My wife had the grouper tacos and loved them. Our friends both had the fried shrimp baskets. She said the lightly breaded shrimp were some of the best she had ever had. So why not 5 stars? It is a dive type of place and I am fine with that. Comfortable and fairly friendly. However, it is strange that you sit down, give the waitress your drink order, peruse the menu and then you have to get up and place your order at the counter. They do at least bring your order to the table. What is that all about? Also, no sweeteners at the table. You have to request them. Why? They have a tasty house brand hot sauce on the table, but be careful, it is not very thick and a little awkward to apply. Finally, my primary gripe is that they don't take credit cards! In these days of Apple Pay and other electronic commerce, cash is a bit of a throwback. I rarely carry any and I want those credit card points! If I have to pay a little more to use a credit card, OK, give me that option. In summary, great food, only about 6 tables inside, and a couple of unusual ways of doing business. The tiniest scallops I've ever seen in the scallop basket. I got the skillet bowl with shrimp. It has 4 small shrimp it it. It was served hot but the bread bowl quickly dissolved into a sloppy mess. So we've been in Mexico Beach 4 days and have eaten here twice. Twice we have had a great meal. My husband swears that they have the best scallops ever and one daughter loves their soft shell crab. I had the shrimp PoBoy the first night and the Killer Seafood with shrimp the next night. The Killer seafood was out of this world! Not for the faint of heart (or for spicy sensitive palate). Allow me to begin by saying that this is THE ONLY place that I ever WANT to eat at when in Mexico Beach. Having lived in the area on and off for five years, it is the only restaurant on the strip that is consistently good...but not just good, it's AWESOME! All of my friends complain that it's expensive, but then I remind then of the fact that they're going to pay just as much (if not more) for an unpleasant meal with mediocre service anywhere else in MB. Kim, the guys, and the staff have always been great to my coworkers and I, and I have NEVER had an unpleasant experience at Killer. The grilled tuna tacos are their trademark item. The ingredients are always fresh, the combination of their in-house sauce and a good squeeze of the provided lime wedge will light up your tastebuds with happiness...but let's not forget the best ingredient: the grilled tuna. They don't skimp on the ingredients here! The tortilla comes out with a good helping of lettuce, tomato, cheese, house sauce, and PERFECTLY GRILLED TUNA! As for the side items, I'm not one for 'slaw, but the hush puppies and fries are (again) cooked to perfection...crisp on the outside, not dried out or squishy on the inside, and freshly-hot out of the frier. Though I will have assuredly reached satiety by the end of the meal, I am always left wanting more BECAUSE IT'S SOOOOO GOOOOOOD! So for under $13, you get a drink, side, and two tacos...and you also get happy tastebuds and a great eating experience!
