Went here after it popped up as one of the best places to grab a sandwich! Lunch crowd gets pretty busy. They ask if you want hard or soft bread (there's a difference!) so I went with hard bc yeah never been asked that. I could barely like chew the hard break. 4/10 for me on the bread for sure. Idk if it was like too hard or idk stale but like obv sandwich ruined. I'll have to go back and try the soft bread. Wish they had a bit more toppings. Got a turkey sandwich and may have to run the visit back.

G-Man cold cut sub.

Bought the G-Man sub and it is excellent! Their cold cuts are delicious (I prefer those than hot subs). Plus, the service was quick. When I'm in this area of DC during the week, I'll make a point of stopping here

Italian sandwich spot in Capitol Hill. Cold cuts had tons of flavors. Veggies added some nice texture. Would have wanted a little more meat and a little less bread.

My favorite sandwich shop in DC. Realistically there's not bad sandwich, and/or bad item. I consider this my go to when I want to impress my friends with quality. It's a small space but once u walk in the staff greets you and after you place your order you have to wait anywhere from 5-15 min. But once you get it the wait is justified. Only knock I have against them is the 3pm closing time but I'd absolutely recommend this spot!

Top 3 best sandwiches I've ever had and supporting a family business makes it even better. The G-Man is absolutely fantastic (soft roll with sweet and hot peppers) and they're always speedy. Highly recommend

I thought this sandwich was fine. Ordered over the phone for pick up. It was ready pretty quickly. I think the prices are good for what you're getting. I did feel like the added way more onions then I would've liked and they also went a little heavy on the oil and vinegar which made my bread a little soggy. But all and all it gets the job done and the bread tasted fresh.

Someone recommended this sub shop, I didn't actually go in , I pulled up while someone went inside. I got the Italian sub with lettuce, mayo , tomato and onions. I also wanted vinegar and oil. The person forgot to add the vinegar and oil when placing the order and it made a difference on my sandwich. The bread and meat was fresh it was decent I just couldn't get the hype probably because it didn't have the vinegar and oil s d it was too much mayonnaise on my sandwich. I do want to go back and order the sandwich myself.....to be continued.......

Not a good experience at Mangialardo. While I do like a cold cut with with bread that absorbs the oil and vinegar, this one leaned on the soggy side and I do not know why because I didn't get much oil and vinegar taste. I was disappointed in the fact I ordered and paid for extra meat which I did not receive. I also received the some of the core of the lettuce which was hard and old. Overall, an experience which left me wanting more. I might give them another try if in the area.

Turkey and Cheese Sub

It took me 39 years to try this place. You really have to pay attention to their hours. What i love is when you walk in you can smell the fresh rolls. They have soft rolls and hard. I opted for soft turkey sub. Nothing spicy, just plain. I absolutely loved how simple it was. I think i was most excited about how soft the bread was. It's a very basic sandwich but that's exactly what I was looking for. The sub was about 13 bucks and to me it was worth every penny. I personally would love this with jalapeño chips inside.

Mangialardo has some of the best subs in DC. This is a staple. I haven't been here since the pandemic. My go to sub is the turkey and cheese on a soft roll. And baby it's fire. The price for the subs is great and you get a lot for your money. The service is always top tier. You can go right in order and be out before you get ticketed for being double parked . I ran in yesterday because I had went to work late and wanted a sub sooo bad. Was afraid I wasn't going to be able to make it but I did. It's always been clean here. The art work and the badges of fire departments, police stations and more is nice too. Check them out if you haven't.

Reviews are largely positive. Many praise the fresh ingredients, generous portions, and friendly staff. The G-Man sub is a standout, and service is quick.

So good! The best Italian cold cut out there. We always get the G man with everything. If you haven't had it you are missing out.

Quick, convenient, charming little place. Not the best sandwiches but you won't be disappointed either.

Ask the Community - Mangialardo

Is there a park nearby with picnic tables or some other place where we could eat the subs? With Litteri's subs we take them to the Arboretum, but that's a haul from Mangialardo's. Thanks

Lincoln Park doesn't have picnic tables but does have benches and lots of grass to spread out a blanket

Our waiter did that. I asked for recommendations and he explained everything on the menu to us. Then I asked a specific question about a dish and he knew the answer immediately. He also gave us specials. I got the Orecchiette e Salsiccia -- Rapini shells with sausage. I loved it. Someone else my table got the special -- pasta with steak. The steak was cooked PERFECTLY and was wonderful. Overall, I loved Pacci's. It has a laid back family vibe yet the food is fantastic. One more thing: the neighborhood Pacci's is in is beautiful. Pacci's itself is in a very rustic nice building, right across from many beautifully painted rowhomes and brownstones.

So much lemon that I couldn't eat a bite. No one ever asked how our food was or why I hadn't touched my dish so I kept quiet and let them trash it.....just awful. The pizza was limp and wet....and kinda a disappointment as well. The space is cute enough largely because it's in a very old row house. I just don't understand why people seem to like the mediocre at best food. I've been here twice....first and last.

I returned nearly after a year and happy to see improvements in packaging. Love foil wrapping because it does not leak and holds the sandwiches better. I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it
