We went here for a weekday date night. It was delicious! We started with the calamari and I had the bolognese dish. We got the Seghesio Zin wine and it was incredible as well. Happy to see a local business doing everything right! read more

I'm sales rep for a large company 27 years. The venue that, I had before had issues and canceled on me at the last minute the owner Tore made great accommodations for me to have the event there. I have clients from Sprouts Market, Frazier Farms and Lazy Acres. They were so happy with the food and the environment leaving the event. We were able to present new product launch with a presentation with our National Educator. If I could give more than 5 stars Food, presentation, service, and just hospitality. I would double that five stars. Thank you for giving us the best service. read more

Oceanside is really stepping up their game. No way would little Brooke, growing up in Cardiff in the 90s, ever believe that there could be an Italian restaurant to rival Rome's in an Oceanside strip mall. The outside seating is strung with lights, there is a fountain just outside the patio, and although there is a sports bar across the way this place feels romantic. We started off with the $26 charcuterie board. That's a ridiculous price for a cheese sampler but I let my Italian husband indulge because, well, Italian. It was just cheeses and meats and fruits and some nuts, but it was all high quality. My husband ordered a pizza (I think because he felt guilty for getting a ridiculously priced appetizer), and that was the best pizza we've had in California. Made in an open flame oven. Totally unexpected. Totally amazing. I ordered the tortelloni. It came out hand-made. The cream sauce mixed with the cheese filling and the pancetta pieces melded together into a taste that I have not experienced elsewhere. As we were eating I told my husband I was giving this place 5 stars. He says that since we've been married, I haven't given any place 5 stars. This place is incredible. read more

We are constantly in search of great Italian food. We found a gem! This place feels like Italy. The food was authentic and the portions were generous. There are Big bowls of pasta and salads and unusual appetizers that come from the region of Palermo. The pizza looked incredible. Wood fired and crispy! I am gluten free and there were no gf options other than what I could create myself. I had a huge arugula and Buffalo salad with chickpea app. Just sublime. The owner served us and shared he has won international pizza competitions 3x. No doubt about it, this place is the real deal. The decor needs some help. It would take about three hours to perfect this place by freshening up..organizing and cleaning the space. I looked past a lot of it because in Italy sometimes you just put up with it. Still... I can't wait to go back. read more

High marks! Normally I have low expectations for Italian restaurants - pizza and pasta dishes don't excite. But the chef here was great. We started with delicious octopus soup, then moved to grilled octopus, olives, eggplant caponata, artichoke carciofi, and caprese salad. Flavors were outstanding and presentation was great. Location was near fountain in a strip mall. Would go again and hoping for much success for them. read more

Y'all when I tell you this food was amazing I TRULY mean it. I dont even normally write reviews but it was OFFENSIVELY GOOD. like I was embarrassed to use a groupon on this, it was that good. I don't even like tortellini normally and DAMN. We got the Cup and Char pizza which was phenomenal. Just moved to CA from NYC and I am not an easy pizza eater to please because I've been spoiled. The pasta was so fresh, the sauce like unforgettable, the prosciutto or speck or whatever it was, I mean I would eat again for dinner right now. HIGHLY recommend. The ambiance is not amaaaazing but the owner served us, the wine was great and the food I can't even say more about. We'll be back for sure! read more

After commenting on my experience having dinner at this restaurant the other night with pros and cons this was the comment from the manager. I will never eat at your establishment again you are rude and can't take criticism very well!!! My family is from Naples das I is from Calabria and both were raised in the Bronx! So before you are rude to paying customers maybe you need to learn how to talk a little more appropriately. I will definitely be sharing your comment with everyone read more

When I saw the pictures on Yelp I knew I wanted to go here and I was not disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is friendly. The interior is a bit outdated but the outdoor seating is quite nice in the evening. The polpo was so tender and all the other dishes were well made and had good flavor. We had a special event here and absolutely loved it! Actual Italian family from Sicily cooking and serving! They have a sister restaurant in Sicily. It's in an industrial area in Oceanside, in a small shopping center. They've made the patio area cute with some decor and there's a fountain outside. The inside is small, but we requested outdoor seating and all the tables have umbrellas to help with the afternoon sun. They were able to accommodate our party of 12 with many more tables outside. There's a fireplace outside, it was not lit while we were there but would make for good date night ambiance. There's a real pizza oven at the front, and great wine selection. The food is AUTHENTIC Italian and everything tasted amazing. The sizes of the dishes varied but everything was freshly prepared and pasta seemed to be homemade. The presentation is great and the servers were very attentive and happy to answer questions. read more

My husband stumbled upon Mangia e Bevi while scrolling Yelp for new restaurant ideas, and found a 1 star review accompanied by the owners response that began "Well Karen..." Once we were able to pick ourselves up off the floor from laughing so hard we knew we had to try it. We had a little bit of a wait the first time, but they were busy with the max # of people allowed and take out (COVID is an unpredictable time). When we sat down, we had a lovely young Lady as our server. We asked about the review we had read and it turned out she had served that table too, and her father is the owner. We ordered a Mista salad to share, which was AMAZING (though I would recommend mentioning the anchovies on the menu), followed by Cacio e Pepe (me) and Pappardelle (hubby). Both were delicious, the wine was lovely, service was excellent and we've been back several more times. The do not have a kids menu, but Tore (the owner) always aims to please and will do everything possible to accommodate a customer. Just ask! Communicate! He has been incredibly gracious, thoughtful and fun every time we've visited, and his desire for his customers to have a great experience at his restaurant is what keeps us coming back! Not to mention supporting our local small businesses. However, if you're one of these passive-aggressive people who would sooner leave a shitty review on Yelp than speak to the establishment for even the smallest issue, or leave negative reviews everywhere you go in hopes of getting something for free, this is not your place. Tore will always make things right if there's an issue, but has no patience for people who don't have the courage or respect to give them the opportunity first. He will call you out, and I think it's one of his best qualities! Love Mangia e Bevi and highly recommend all the way around! read more

So here I am, searching and hoping for a meal to suit a king. Even though my king is pacified with his joker, being the queen needs a meal suited for her castle. Long story short....my castle shall be well fed! The food was made with love! We had the small plate calamari and polpo (octopus) with 2 salads and 2 plates of Linguini. Not your "traditional" Italian but definitely a new favorite. It takes a lot to impress me but I'll definitely be back. It's also nice to see he owner working the floor and tables and customer service here is phenomenal. read more

Real Italian food served by super knowledgeable staff. I'm the opposite of a foodie and not only did I love the food, I didn't feel awkward asking questions or as though I didn't belong. It's a modern, cozy wine-bar type vibe. Unfortunately not pictured is anything with their house made tomato sauce. Has a much "rounder," less sharp taste than your typical tomato sauces. Turns out it's because they use plum tomatoes which are sweeter and less acidic. Whole table loved it! They also have organic heirloom tomatoes grown for them that they use on the Bruschetti, which a friend ordered and looked amazing! The toppings were plentiful and gorge. I couldn't eat them because I can't eat bread, but I was very envious. I did get to try the same friend's Goat Cheese Polenta and it was sooooo good!!! It was creamy and goat-cheesy. My Caprese salad was super awesome and on point! Food is amazingly high quality. Most ingredients were local and fresh. I'm def no expert and even I could tell. read more

This is a really cute & cozy spot. I would love to come back to dine in, either indoors or on the spacious patio by the fountain. Greeted immediately by the very friendly gentleman running the pizza oven by the door, and then the hostess took our to-go order, making helpful suggestions from the menu. It was a tough choice - lots of enticing items. Don't forget to scan the QR code for daily specials! We had the Cacio y Pepe, Diavolo pizza, & an eggplant tapenade & bruschetta app. All very good. They have a small bar seating about 6, & it was popular! I felt like I'd come into a fun neighborhood spot. read more

This is my first time here. It's small but cozy. The staff are very nice an helpful as I needed recommendations. We started with the calamari that was crispy and delicious. My husband got a boar pasta dish the name escapes me. It was tasty but the best was the pizza. The crust has to be made fresh because it was so delicious. The sauce to cheese ratio was on point. We just found out about this place today and had to stop in tonight. So glad we did! The food and service was excellent. By the time we finished, we felt we should be celebrating something besides a Monday. It just felt like a very special dinner. They really know what they're doing. We ordered a variety of small plates and one entree to enjoy between us and it turned out spot on, with some to take home. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. Grilled Octopus, very tender, the Fried Artichoke topped salad with the peppery dressing, the Arancino (Italian rice ball with a crispy outside crust), Butternut Squash Risotto and finishing with the Chocolate Mousse (look for photos!) Beautifully prepared plates to look at as well as eat. What a treat!! We will definitely be back, and bring friends! Thank you. read more

Great food and service. Family owned and operated with owners always on the premises to make sure your experience is excellent.

I want to give many thanks to Mangia e Bevi for partnering with the County to deliver meals to seniors who are home bound. They make and deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. It's made a huge difference to those of us who couldn't get groceries delivered because of the sudden demand or go to the store. The meals are all delicious, just like in the restaurant, and each one includes fruit, veggies, or a yummy salad. Breakfast has bacon, eggs, french toast, applesauce or fruit and juice. For lunch there is a sandwich, salad, or entree and veggies. Dinner includes pasta dishes, lasagna, and locally sourced veggies or salad. Everything is prepared with care and the selection is excellent. Thanks to Mangia e Bevi and employees. read more
