Traveling out of town and had dinner here with my nine year old daughter. The thing that stood up was the service, the staff constantly checked in and the experience was great. The food was very good and highly recommend the Taramisu, was the best I have had in years. Great service and food! read more

This restaurant is a diamond in the rough. It's a combination of tapas and traditional Italian. We shared the bread service (this is not your traditional Italian bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar but a specially prepared bread with fresh basil baked in - phenomenal); caponata (very good but touch too sweet for me. Would I order it again, yes but probably add some tang to it). My friend ordered the Spinach and chicken ravioli- exceptionally well prepared- nice balance of flavors and pasta was al dente. I ordered the polpette and the chicken small plate. Both well seasoned and prepared. Could not fin it so took them home and enjoyed the day following. While the ambiance is not 5 star, the food and service are. Wine list is decent but suggest bringing your own very good wine to accompany the excellent food. I look forward to eating here again. read more

Definitely worth a visit! I'd even go so far to say that they offer the best pizza in town. My favorite is the pistachio pizza with mortadella. If you are looking for something more than the traditional pepperoni (which they also offer) I'd definitely recommend coming here. The takeout is great and perfectly packed. You can taste the Italian love the owners put in their menu and definitely worth eating here. Great wine selection and attentive servers. read more

The food was so authentic. Todd and Tori treated our party of eleven like family, explaining all the questions and gave fantastic recommendations on some foods we might like to try. Everyone enjoyed the food and ambiance. Very beautiful venue. read more

The food at MeB is delicious. I eat here frequently for business meals and have not been disappointed. I would recommend it for a casual dinner or for a casual date. read more

Delicioso! Met a friend here - ate outside by a heater. Calamari is outstanding. Tender and not salty. Artichoke app was a little woody, but had great flavor. The carbonara was a little salty due to the pork. I had the parmesan and pepper pasta. Just stellar. Super Tuscan wine was wonderful. The karaoke going on outside at the bar nearby nearby was hilarious. Some might find it off putting... but we kept dating it as American Idol tryouts and a few were pretty good. Server was great. Masking 100%. Felt pretty safe. read more

I was coming in from out of town for my birthday celebration with some friends and found this place via a "Groupon" type voucher. I looked up the menu and reviews and became VERY excited to celebrate here. I was not disappointed. We were sat at a small, intimate patio when the owner, Tore, I believe, came by to welcome me and my friend. It was a very nice touch at the beginning of our magical night. We began with the burrata, which was fried. That was new to me, so we gave it a shot and it was Devine. The sauce alone had me at the first bite. Then, the charcuterie board beckoned me, and when ordered, the owner brought it over explaining each delicious meat, cheese and accoutrement. It was my friends first time experiencing such a grand experience and he was simply floored in the best possible way. For our main entrees, he ordered the Saltimbocca, and I, the Vongole with squid ink pasta. Each was so flavorful and special in their own way, and I was seriously sad that in my excited, yet relaxed state, I forgot to get pictures of this outstanding feast. We ended with a tiramisu and a cappuccino, and it was a light and lovely ending to our beautiful evening. I'd personally like to thank Victoria and Paige for their outstanding service and hospitality. You both, along with Tore, made my birthday so very special and one my friend and I will remember for years to come. I truly look forward to coming back on my next trip to North County, a place I used to call home and come visit whenever I can. read more

Everything was wonderful last night, as usual. We ordered the calamari, a pizza, and for the first time I ordered the octopus! I was not surprised, it was delicious. We've come in enough times to now know we can count on Mangia e Bevi. We are always treated as if we are the only guests in the place despite the fact that it's packed with customers. Thank you, see you soon! read more

The salad was perfectly chilled and fresh and the pasta dish was hot and delicious. Service was great.

I went here with friends as it is one of their favorite places. We had some appetizers - they were ok. I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi. I could not finish them they were so bad. They were dried out with no sauce. Asked for a to go container- told the server that I needed to take them home and put some herb brown butter sauce on them as they were too dry. She just smiled and handed me the container. I took them home and made a great rosemary tarragon brown butter and they were much better. Doubt I will be back. read more

Food was good, but I made a reservation and they didn't seem to have it when I checked in. The lady at the check-in seemed pretty perplexed that she couldn't find my reservation. That was super weird and kind of a turn-off tbh. I would semi recommend coming here. It's a cute little location in a small shopping plaza across from a hotel. Ample parking for sure! read more

I'm not an ambience or service nut. Instead my considerations almost always fall on the quality of the food and presentation. This place has excellent service and ambiance, but the fact that they don't make a fuss that I'm in sandals was one of the things that won me over. The other obvious reason is amazing food. The gnocchi is on point, so is the pasta, foccachia , and most impressively the Neapolitan pizza. Blew me away. read more

The food and the service of this restaurant is always amazing. When you have great food and great service , makes the Ambiance even better.

Love this place! It's the restaurant I lost frequent in Oceanside! Everything is so tasty and the staff treat you more like family than the other chain who claims to! read more

Every dish was spectacular! Thoroughly enjoyed my luncheon --food was delicious, and beautifully presented 'top tier' ‍ Chef prepared a special menu for my 86 year young Mom, my family ordered Calimari, Mixed green salad w/ fried artichokes, Capricciosa Pizza, Chicken Saltimbocca, Chocolate cake and Afogato Looking forward to the next visit! read more

The food is good, but way over priced. For example we ordered a pizza which is the size of a medium or so and it was $36.00. But the most ridiculous thing was the veal chop. It only came with a small side of brocholinni. The cost $79.00. The server was the nicest person and all the staff were friendly and nice. The only reason for a 3 star is the overpriced cost of the food. If you want bread with your meal it will cost you $5.00. read more

I've eaten here before and thought it was pretty good. Tonight, I called in an order for calamari. I live one block away, so the location is super convenient. I'm so sad about the food tonight! It is inedible. The calamari is so rubbery it is impossible to eat and swallow. Every piece is bad. Plus, there is as much fried artichoke in the order as there is calamari. Just very disappointing from a place I used to enjoy and they should really quality control test what they serve. I'm not going to take it back, but it was not cheap, and I tipped 20%. read more

The food is excellent. Meatballs and sauce are phenomenal. Peppadew pizza is great. Crust has a perfect chew with spot on fermentation flavors. Would be perfect fit in more dense location. Quality of restaurant and location don't mix but whatever works. read more

This little taste of oceanside is a 10/10. I had the pleasure of dining here with my parents and brother. To preface this review I had just finished an all day swim meet and was starving. I walked in and was immediately greeted at the door with a hello or good evening. I looked up to find my family and sure enough they are sat at the bar chatting. We are THAT family. Back to review... We got to talk to the owner and let me tell you that he is one of the reasons I will definitely be returning. Not to mention that the food is fantastic. I ordered the margarita pizza and it was insanely good. The crust is super fluffy and just the right thinest. My parents ordered pastas and they loved it. To talk about setting: this restaurant feels like walking into a hole in the wall in Italy (which I have done). There is soft lighting and candles and a wall of wine read more

As always the service was flawless , the bistecca and broccolini prepared perfectly. Delicious!!

Went with a group of 9 friends. We sat outside in the lovely patio area. Service was great, the food was delicious. Has the gnocchi and tiramisu, would recommend both. Took a pizza home for my son - he approved. One friend is gluten free and the hostess came to confirm why and then made sure that the pizza station was wiped down. The best part is that it is a neighborhood restaurant. Will be returning! read more

Decided on this place after searching best octopus in Oceanside. We were able to grab a reservation on a Saturday night and honestly as good as it was it should have been busier. We ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer there were three different kinds. Each one had its own flavor that was perfectly paired. I was so impressed as I usually don't order bruschetta. I obviously ordered the octopus, it's an appetizer but was enough to be an entree for me. It was excellent. My husband had the margherita pizza and he loved it. We were so incredibly impressed and had such a lovely time. Our waitress, I didn't catch her name, was so sweet. We will definitely be back. read more

Mangia e Bevi (Eat and drink) Wow! Everything was delicious! There was six of us in our party and no one had a negative thing to say about the food. As a matter of fact everyone commented how delicious it was. Our party had gnocchi, cheese pizza, spaghetti & meatball, bruschette, caprese, cannoli, tiramisu amatriciana, and they accommodated two people in our party with non Italian American fettuccine alfredo. Our server was very patient, had a sexy accent, and a beautiful smile. Thank you for a wonderful evening! I will be back! read more

We tried 2 different pizzas, pastas, and salads. They were all fantastic. Well made, fresh, with quality ingredients. Kept warm and traveled well to-go. Left overs were as good as new the next day when warmed up in a toaster oven. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be going back. It's a just a tad on the pricier side but we'll worth it. It's not your average restaurant and bordering the realm of fine dining. read more

As a second generation Italian you should NEVER question someone's ethnicity nor call them American Italian 101..... If someone had a less than average experience at your establishment they have Yelp to expense those options and specific experiences! Like the other below your service and food is less than par for being an "Italian" restaurant. Waiting to have my glass filled for water, having the grab a waiter/waitress for utensils etc, I put off reviewing as I know the struggles some restaurants , but no pass for you since you respond to others comments in such a negative matter.... I have my popcorn ready and waiting for you to respond to mine...then I will take it to the BBB. Ciao! read more

This was much better than expected! The pizza was absolutely fantastic and I really enjoy the service here! Ideal date night spot, food is made to order quickly and you can taste the quality of their ingredients. They broccolini was a great side and I love their bread! It's a shame they are so far of the beaten path or else I would come here more often! Etsy of easy parking and plenty of indoor as well as outdoor seating. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I ate here for lunch our anniversary. The food was excellent. Grilled octopus salad (we ordered second plate it was so good). Eggplant plate was excellent, artichoke plate and grilled salmon special. Oh and then a slice of flourless chocolate cake. We were happily impressed. The minus star really should by 4.5 stars is due to the waitress needing more support. She was by herself with a large table and another party and our table. She did a great job and was very nice. read more

I went there for lunch today. Had the arugula salad and margarita pizza. The salad was beautifully presented. We split the salad and pizza amongst three of us and still had salad left. We intentionally saved room for the cannoli and are we glad we did. I thought I was back in Boston. One serving is three small ones which was perfect. They were generously stuffed and so delicious. The pizza was true Italian with a delicious red sauce and thin crust. Our waitress, Jackie was very attentive . I will definitely be back. read more

As a retired and award winning Chef, I was greatly disappointed in Mangia e Bevi. My wife and I dined at this restaurant for the first time last night because of an article in the Coast News by Rico Cassoni. The article was about the co-owner of this restaurant winning first place at a recent pizza cooking competition. Unfortunately, the pizza at the restaurant wasn't even average in flavor and quality of the products used to make the pizza. For example, the Fennel sausage did not taste like it had any Fennel flavor at all. Be careful of recommendations from the contributors in the Coast News. Also, the red sauce on our pizza was close to having little flavor. read more

Excellent! I had the pepperoni pizza. You can tell the dough is homemade, it's got a nice crust, flavorful mozzarella and toppings.. My mom had a gluten free calzone, and wow, you can't tell it's not wheat. I will be returning for sure! read more

I'm not sure when it became the norm to charge $30 for pasta, but I know it's pretty common. That said, if you're going to charge that much, it better be amazing and their Carbonara was very average, but the deal breaker is an Italian place that on top of that charges for bread. $6 for bread and $3 for olive oil and balsamic, we've eaten Italian all over the city and not sure I've ever seen that. On a high note our server was great, but sadly there are way too many better options for us to return. read more

It was our first trip here and let me tell you, if you want as close as you can get to a five star dining experience without having to pay five star prices, then this place is for you. All of the above!! My family and I went tonight for our Sunday meal and it was outstanding. The menu has been upgraded a bit and everything was delicious. We all loved our meal. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my halibut with wonderful pumpkin ravioli, my dinner guests were not pleased. Entirely too much sodium on the "salt"-imboca, and the chicken was quite dry. The peas in the torteloni were undercooked and the pasta was well beyond al dente, and again over salted; especially the spec which was almost inedible. We liked the pane, but no more was available which was quite a surprise since we were an early seating. Also forgot to serve the insalata mista. Overall, a rough night at Mangia, and they forgot to recognize my mother-in-law's birthday. Server tried to make up for it by nicely waving the corkage. Surprised with the big miss given fellow Yelpers higher ratings, but I'm afraid we won't be back. read more

This is a place we frequently get takeout from and it's so good! We love the pulpo and the misto salad. Their pizzas are full of flavor and the crust is perfectly charred. We always get a tiramisu to share and it never disappoints. We've dined in a few times and I didn't really like the booths and the setup so we've just been ordering it to-go. It's a great place if you want some quality take out and are sick of the same old pizza joint. read more
