I got my hair done here for the first time today, and I can honestly say that it has never looked or felt better. After my haircut, I tried the mineral make up they carry, and now my face feels and looks great too. If you don't care about your hair, but are looking for a great natural cruelty free makeup option, this is also the place for you! I attended a Yelp Elite event here this past week, which was really informative and fun, but the best part was meeting the hairstylist Mari that did my consult. She identified the exact problems I had suspected for years, but could not get a stylist at any salon to seem to see. The minute she pointed them out to me, I knew she was my hair's soulmate. I booked on the spot, and could hardly wait the 3 days until my appointment. I was not disappointed. They use all Bumble and Bumble products which are all the rage these days, and only carried in what I was told was 1% of salons across the country. I know about their products because I'm a Sephora junky and tend to get lots of samples. Like I said, they also have some pretty amazing mineral makeup, as well as a few other fun things to check out in the entrance area. Having someone else shampoo my hair is a luxury I always enjoy. The shampoo room is dimly lit with nice changing color mood lights. You get a nice little head and neck massage too, which was great. One of the perks from the Yelp event was a free hair mask if you booked that night, so I got to get that done as well. As I said in the beginning, my hair has never looked or felt better. Was it the mask that made it so silky? The shampoo/conditioner? The products? I don't know, but if it was the mask, it was worth every bit of $25 it normally costs, and I plan to splurge on it my next visit (yes, I already have that booked). When I was checking out, I asked one of the girls, I believe her name was Samantha, about the mineral make up. I have always been interested in it, but am a bit snooty about brands. It turns out that it is pretty awesome for your face. The line is Jane Iredale. It is cruelty free, mostly vegan (they do use carmine [crushed beetles], and beeswax in some their products :( ), and mostly organic. Samantha (assuming I got her name right) was great at checking the colors, and recommending products based on my preference. One great thing about this place is that they do not pressure you to buy anything, which actually makes me more likely to buy. They seem to know shopaholic psychology! I have CRAZY hair, I'm talking a mix of a spanish father who has coarse tight little ringlets and an Italian mother who has blonde very fine, thin hair, so I fall somewhere in between that. I've gone to many stylists over the years, people who had to spend upwards of 1.5 hours just trying to comb through my curls/frizz. I had heard about the Brazilian Blowout from TV, magazines and friends who had experienced it, however I didn't think it would be strong enough for my hair. In the past I had spent about 5 years of my life getting my hair chemically straightened and damaging the heck out of it, so trying anything that was going to have such a strong effect on my hair made me very hesitant. I booked an appointment with Chris and did a consultation and mentioned that I was also interested in darkening the color of my hair too. He recommended we do it all on the same day because I would get the best results. My hair turned out INCREDIBLE!!! Chris really knew what he was doing with coloring, and the brazilian blowout is honestly the greatest thing I have ever done for my hair. It is worth every penny, and is now a new obsession that I do not think I will be able to give up. My hair truly has never looked this good!! Mane Attraction is a great find, they were incredibly friendly, were very honest about the products I should/shouldn't buy and didn't pressure me to purchase anything I wasn't interested in. Special needs child asked to leave salon...Yes, that is what happened today at Mane Attraction. Our son, who has gotten his hair cut here before, was asked to leave the salon and finish his hair cut in the alleyway behind the building next to dumpsters, delivery trucks, garbage trucks and grease traps serving the shopping center this business is located in. Admittedly, our son does not do well with hair cuts, but for the OWNER of this business to make this demand is inexcusable. Our son, daughter and wife are all customers (ex-customers now) of this business and there are other ways to have handled this situation, especially having cut our sons hair previously, without causing the shame and humiliation the owner of this business caused our family. The owner, Kendall, should be ashamed of himself and his actions. The stylist who was cutting my sons hair was beyond embarrassed by the demand of her boss and apologized countless times. I would ask anyone who my have a family member, friend, or acquaintance with special needs to share this story and the actions of this business owner. Our son is a beautiful person both inside and out, but has his social and verbal challenges. However, there is no reason for anyone, especially a five year old, to be treated the way Kendall treated him. #autismawareness read more

I will never again go to another stylist OR salon since I have been seeing Joanne at Mane Attraction! Ever since my last cut and color with her people are constantly asking me "Where did you get your hair done?!" or "How did your stylist color your hair?!" I'm a blonde, and for any other blondes out there you know It's not easy to find someone who can keep you bright blonde and keep your hair healthy. Go see Joanne and she will not disappoint!!! Every time I get my cut and color with her I am more impressed by her amazing skill for hair. Joann is fun, professional, and experienced - she has been at the salon for ~10 years and knows what she is doing! She's always on time and doesn't take hours to finish a high quality cut/color/highlights. She is by far the best stylist I have ever been to and HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist - any age, any hair style. The salon is very mod and chic, the staff is super friendly and accommodating, and it is centrally located which is very convenient. They treat you like star :). Heather has cut, colored and highlighted my hair for almost 4 years now, ever since I moved here from PA. I love the way my hair looks, and so does my husband, and he's my worse critic! I get complements on my hair often, plus it's never been healthier. The last time my sister visited from PA she made me take her to Heather to get her hair cut because she wanted a "perfect" hair cut. Heather really takes her time with you, and understands your hair. I have never been disappointed. Plus she's one of the nicest people you can meet. Everyone at Mane Attraction is friendly, talks with you and makes you feel welcome, even if you aren't their client. You can stop in to just get your bangs trimmed. If your stylist isn't there, someone else will do it for you and you don't have long to wait. Beate and Kendall are both warm and friendly, just great. The Best at Mane Attraction by Marie Galakatos I have been going to Jo Ann Sher for several years. I have very difficult thin straight greying hair. Everytime I have Jo Ann do my hair it turns out a little different depending on the season, condition, etc. and it looks SPECTACULAR!!!!!! I only have to go every three months because she blends the color so well I don't get roots. My hair has never been thicker and it has a fantastic shine. She does whatever is good for you and your hair. I'm not one to sit in a salon but she makes it a wonderful experience. People stop me in the mall and ask where I get my hair cut. Reese is amazing. she colors and cuts my hair perfectly every time. Very talented. She is the only one who can do it right! My hair has never been healthier. The only issue I had was when I called to book my appt last time I was told I needed 3 hours for a color and cut and she didn't have anything available for a couple weeks. I told them I only need 2 hours, I have been coming for a while and know how long it takes. They finally scheduled me and of course it took less than 2 hours. Last year Reese was out sick and they had one of the proteges do my hair, she used the same formula as Reese so the color was fine but the cut was not great and I had to go back and have Reese redo it. I had a fabulous experience here! Josey low-lighted my multicolored mess of a head of hair and made me look fabulous! It was my first time going into Mane attraction and I was instantly impressed. Right away I was offered a beverage and enjoyed their Peppermint Tea which was fabulous! And it wasn't in a dinky plastic cup but an actual mug that stayed warm the whole time. What really stood out is how they have you start by answering a short questionaire about your hair maintenance and life style so they really put your peronsal hair maintenance routine to mind while selecting your style and color. I moved to Arizona in 1993. Since then, I had been looking for a reliable hair stylist/designer, someone who has the consistence styling skills. I had tried so many places and I could not find one I would go back for the third time until I found Mia at MA. She is AWESOME. She knows exactly what I want and the outcome is always better than what I have expected. She is a very friendly person with exceptional styling skills. Although I live in the west side of the valley, I am willing to drive 30 to 40 minutes for a hair cut. It is all worth it and I want to make sure I look GOOD when I leave the salon. Mia can do it!! A HUGE sigh of relief for finally finding a hair stylist, Josey Yingling, and a hair salon who appreciates their customers above and beyond what's "normal" these days! What an amazing experience at Mane Attraction this afternoon (April 17, 2012) and it's worth the 20 miles to drive there (I live in Mesa). I normally have two pictures of haircuts to test out the person first, but I went right to "cut it off" (inverted bob) because Josey's passion for hair and my satisfaction was clearly evident and her top priority. One of my girlfriends recommended that I try out Mane Attraction. From what she said about this place, I was excited to see what they would be able to do. Once I walked inside a very plain and homely looking girl behind the front desk was extremely rude. Not only did she ignore me but when she finally did acknowledge me she was not helpful at all. She couldn't tell me who if anyone could do my color and had no idea what color line they used. I decided not to get my hair done there. I let my friend know about my experience and she said maybe it was one of the new girls they hired. I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone! read more

Christina and staff provided a great experience for me from start to finish. Expectations and ideas were discussed in my initial consultation with stylist Christina, followed up by a great shampoo with Tracy. Returning to the stylist chair for my haircut, Christina then carefully followed through on her kind suggestions without forcing the issue like some stylists do. Her diligence with each scissor cut was duly noted, along with her polite and comfortable conversation. I left the chair very happy and satisfied, and then booked my next appointment. Following all COVID guidelines. They did an amazing job on my hair. I keep looking at it in the mirror, it's exactly what I wanted. The stylist understood what I love and did a PERFECT job after. I'm so grateful that I had my hair done with them. It was by far the best hair experience I've had so far. Besides, the stylist that took care of my needs was so fun to talk to! Great conversation. I have had nothing but excellent visits/cuts/styles at Mane Attraction! The stylists are well trained and can really look at the shape of your head and texture of your hair (I have a lot of very fine hair) and make suggestions if you are seeking a new cut/style, or do what YOU want them to do. One time I took in a pic of a hairstyle I loved (for inspiration) and the stylist cut & styled it perfectly. I would (and do) drive an hour to the salon for an appt.
