Upon entering, we saw a variety of mouth watering options. My wife ordered a peanut butter crinkle cookie ($3.00), a vanilla bean scone ($4.75) and I chose a guava caisson ($4.95). We ordered our pastries to go and the woman behind the counter placed all three pastries in a box. The peanut butter crinkle cookie never made it out of the parking lot as my wife devoured it...I may have had a small piece to taste it. Not a fan of peanut butter but that cookie was legit. We brought the scone and chausson home to savor with some hot tea. My wife liked her scone but when we unearthed the chausson, it was flattened by the heavy scone placed on top of it by the lady who boxed it up. Instead of airy, flaky goodness, the chausson was disappointingly chewy and hard! Did I say disappointing?

They are open 7am to sell out Tuesday through Saturday. I arrived just before 8am and was surprised that they already were selling out of items! They offer a nice variety of pastries and treats including danishes, croissants, scones, cookies, brownies, and more specialty items. The selection included a mix of both sweet and savory items as wells. The sizes of the pastries were perfect, the price was a little high--but still reasonable. The service was quick, but I thought it could have been slightly more pleasant. The worker just didn't really seem too happy to be there on this particular morning and was very blunt with me. I asked her for her opinion and what items to get and she really didn't provide much help. But other than that, this was a good experience. I ended up getting three items including a Nutella danish, a cheddar-chive scone, and a piece of their pecan bread pudding. All of these items were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed each one! The pecan bread pudding was great, it wasn't too sweet and the texture was perfect. I just wish it was warm as it was given to me cold. Next time I get this I might need to heat it up in the microwave at home. It didn't include too many pecans, but the cinnamon flavors were great, I would recommend this. The Nutella danish was more reminiscent of a croissant with Nutella on top. This was still good as the dough was quite buttery & flaky--just as it should be. There was the perfect amount of Nutella and I thought it was nicely balanced. The cheddar-chive scone was by far my favorite! The scone was dense, buttery, and had great texture & layers. The cheddar was subtle, but still very much present. I was very impressed with the scone and would highly recommend ordering one. It was easily one of the best scones I've eaten and shouldn't be missed! Overall, I am glad I finally made it out to BakerBaker and can easily say it won't be my last visit. The selection of pastries is awesome and you can easily get something different every time you go. Their menu appears to change daily/weekly too. Each pastry is priced at $4. I will say some pastries vary in size, making this price less justifiable. For instance, one of the other bread pudding varieties was about half the size of the one I ordered and priced the same. All the pastries I tried were delectable and I was satisfied. As I stated above, I thought the service, particularly the women ringing me up, could have been more pleasant. I would say this is a solid bakery for Gainesville, with the scones being the standout. This is certainly no French bakery, but it will definitely satisfy and sweet cravings you might have!

We went to Vietnam a couple years ago and now anytime she has a chance to get Banh Mi she does. We'd been here before but I think they recently added the Korean sticks to the menu. I always get a #1 without cilantro or mayo. They haven't messed it up yet. Pate is not really an American thing but it's a good combination. There's a dark sauce they put on the sandwich too which is really good. There's are freshly sliced jalapeños so take note if you don't like spicy. They are very thinly sliced so it's not overwhelming but there's a little kick. My wife got a sandwich but also tried one of the Korean sticks. She got the stick without a hotdog. It was basically a block of cheese coated in diced potatoes, kind of like frozen breakfast potatoes you can get at the grocery store. They deep fry it so the cheese is completely melted. I think she's glad she tried it, but I don't think she was impressed. We'll just stick to Banh Mi next time.

It took a while for anyone to greet me to take my order but after I ordered it did come relatively quickly. Not as fast as other banh mi places though. The banh mi itself was probably the worst one I have ever had. The bread tasted refrigerated and was very chewy. It actually took a lot of effort for me to bite and chew it. Definitely not good eats. Ambiance was nice with plenty of seating.
