First time at this location. It was a bit quiet at late afternoon on Thursday. Clean, welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. I wish vegetarian options had a bit more prominence but I did manage with the way it is setup.

I had recently heard of the Mandarin buffet on a review, of course they were talking about another restaurant in the center of Toronto. This restaurant is outside the city, I ended here by following the GPS. I' am glad I did. After checking temperature at the door,I was seated at a table by Gloria my server, very nice and attentive. I saw a sign that they have a buffet on weekends. I started at the Sushi bar, nice selection of sushi. Then moved to the more traditional Chinese fare. I did not visited every station since I do not eat that much, and wanted to end with fresh fruit and some typical desserts. I ordered the Shirley Temple non-alcoholic beverage cocktail. The food was very good, tasty. Everything clean with plenty of Hand gels to disinfect around and disposable vinyl gloves. At the end, Gloria gave me a warm towel. Nice!

Wow, has delivery at this place gone downhill. There was a time when you would receive your food at least warm. With my most recent order however, my order arrived well over an hour late. I was informed by the order taker that they were busy. When the delivery driver arrived, his excuse was that he was stuck in traffic for a half an hour, which was highly unlikely. Considering it was Friday, it's understandable that this location was busy, but to deliver barely warm food to the customer is totally unsatisfactory. My advice is to just totally avoid this place.

Great deal if you're in the mood to eat like it's going out of fashion! It is better to reserve your spot, you will be seated within 5 minutes of arriving. They have a decent sized buffet with multiple types of sub-cuisines. What's best is, the service. Our server Anita was particularly alert to our needs, was quick to clear out between courses and always had a genuine smile. Another big help is that they have multiple dining halls so you never really feel how crowded this place is. Definitely recommended.

10/10 loved it Especially the waiter tim he was very nice and kind the food was good too

My friends love this clean location and have been coming here for over 15 years. I've joined them on a few occasions for the AYCE venue. The food is great, the service staff is excellent and there is something at the buffet to satisfy everyone; vegetarians, meat lovers, Sushi lovers, seafood regulars, etc. Desserts are also plentiful to fulfill that urge! Parking is free and reservations are recommended. Check meal prices vary depending when you want to dine! Discount available for Seniors 65+ years of age.

We came here on a Saturday evening for my mom's birthday. This Mandarin really improved on their service. Everyone was very attentive and even the manager came by to introduce themselves and leave their card. Their food is standard, and there's a good selection. I wouldn't say they're the best but they're edible. I personally didn't eat their meat, my family said that it was tough. I find the quality around the same as before, which is mediocre. Vegan options here were very little, I think the selection was only noodles, fried rice, beans and broccoli. If you're vegetarian, your options grow a bit. They're getting really good at restocking food before it gets too low. I never saw an empty or near empty food station while I was there. The cleanliness of the establishment was ok. It was kind of muddy due to the snow and the bathrooms are sort-of maintained. It wasn't the cleanest but it was bearable. The utensils and plates were kind of dirty but a good wipe-down should do the trick. Overall, I probably wouldn't go back here by myself especially if I was paying, but if my friends or family invited me out, I wouldn't be opposed.

Sister Sarah and I had supper at the Mandarin. It's been a lot of years since I've been (great idea, Sis!). There's a lot of choice ... over 150 dishes ... and not just Chinese food. Sister Sarah started off with shrimp, crab and lobster au gratin (that was a big hit). I'm not a fan of seafood. Everything I had was good and yes, I was FULL! The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Koi at the entrance.

Except for a very edgy server, this Mandarin is great for food and service. The atmosphere is cool too. Will be back when Im in Etobicoke.

We made reservations in case but hardly a line unlike the experience at Dragon legend( had reservations but line up for it was still out the door and around building) It was busy but lots of food at the hot tables being refilled often, beverages refreshed and dishes from our table promptly removed. Service was attentive in the dining rooms and friendly by the hostess station. Lunch had enough items to be happy with, but it seemed like they altered the BBQ/Grill station to breakfast foods, like bacon and fried eggs and had a few empty slots where I remember had items previously. Highs: -Black peppered beef cubes very very tender and flavourful - fried noodles on point - tofu pudding dessert had a gingered sugar syrup to drizzle on top Lows: -peking duck seemed more hard instead of crispy skin - fried egg Left the restaurant very stuffed, kids were happy. They felt this buffet was decent and had more flavour than the buffet on Royal Caribbean. Was worth the trip here today, would return again.

There was a pretty big variety of dishes: many Caribbean classics but also some rarer ones. Service was not great - they took a while before asking what I wanted to drink. The food was largely delicious, though nothing was labelled so I wasn't sure what many dishes were. The dishes nearer the entrance were better; e.g. fried chicken & spicy chicken. Split pea soup & peanut porridge/soup (if it was porridge it was too thin) were pretty good. At the back, the goat was pretty bony & not so tasty, the rasta pasta & fried vermicelli were ok & the curry vegetables were so so. The buffet was $21.99 plus tax, a 50% price hike from what is presumably 2020's price on the website. It was also rung up as 2 ackee and saltfish because they hadn't updated their system yet, which was rather odd.

The chicken is served on a bed of rice and peas with coleslaw (yumm!) and chicken. I found the jerk chicken was delicious and super flavourful. The stew chicken was drier than the jerk chicken but it was still good. I also believe they put butter in their rice - the rice tastes almost... cheesy? And for my lactose sensitive friends, you might also feel it in your gut! But still an enjoyable dish!

Every table has their own lamp (which is awkwardly placed since it's hard to see the person diagonally or directly across from you) and a tv to watch the races. We came on a Thursday night and had the 8 oz prime rib with 2 lobster tails. For members it's $19.99 and non-members it's $29.99. My aunt commented that my uncle and I were eating all our veggies first. This is because they were cooked so well and very tasty. A downfall with ordering prime rib and steak is that there's a high chance that your meat will come out too cooked for your liking. Three people ordered medium rare and it was served just under medium well. The NY cheesecake did not taste like other NY cheesecakes I've had before. The crust was too soft and the centre was very airy and not firm. The brownie was alright. I suspect that their desserts are bought and not made in-house. Even though there weren't any races the night we went it was still a good experience.

FOOD 5/5: There's no way I could rate $14.99 for a delicious prime rib and two lobster tails anything less than 5 star. But regardless, the prime rib was cooked to perfection. The lobster tails seem previously frozen as they're hard to remove from shells, and lack butter to dip. Regardless amazing value (Thurs and Friday nights only). SERVICE 4/5: Good service but nothing spectacular. Came on a popular specials night so the servers had a lot on their "plates." Still very friendly and attentive when we needed anything. This is a great dinner at a great price.

There is a variety of food to choose from including seafood, meats, noodles and veggie dishes to choose from. There's a Peking Duck section and a "noodle bar" as well. My favourite was the sashimi section and it was regularly refilled whenever I went to get more food. Personally, the highlights of the buffet is the seafood and the herbal soup. They even have lamb skewers in the hot food section! Overall, a good dining experience and service was adequate. The servers came around to pick up plates and check in regularly. When we had first arrived, we were told that it would be a two-hour wait, and that we would need to have a pager with us at all times that would be used to notify us once a table was ready. We weren't able to get a pager immediately as they were all being used therefore, we had to wait at least fifteen minutes before we were able to get one. Once we had that pager in hand, we waited about one hour for our table, which was actually not as long as we had expected. Upon entering the restaurant via an escalator from the first floor, we were pleased to see how picturesque it was. With the large windows showcasing the horse racing at the time, along with the tables that boasted their own private television screens, we were impressed with how wonderful and inviting everything looked. Upon being seated, we were given programs on the betting available for the evening's races, which was detailed with everything we needed to know. We also noticed that there was a middle-aged woman coming around, asking us if we were interested in placing bets during our dining experience. The diners went wild during the races, which created an exciting, yet sometimes, loud atmosphere. In terms of the dining, I was pleasantly surprised with how many options were available. Since it was only $12.95 (with a Winners Circle Card), I was blown away at how much food was placed within the buffet area, with an area dedicated to bread with a variety of spreads, another area with salads and other cold appetizers (such as artichokes, cold cuts, cheese, etc.), a hot table (with such items as lasagna, pizza, chicken, fish, and more), along with a dessert section, which boasted a wide variety of desserts, and a few dishes of fruit. All of the items were well-prepared, and everything tasted fantastic, with each item at the hot table coming onto my plate hot (temperature-wise), which is rare to find in a buffet. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this buffet, and would highly-recommend it to anyone who wants delicious food, at a low price. The only thing that I didn't like was the waiting period, and how slow it was, considering that many guests usually sit there the entire evening, watching the races and eating for hours on end. Although this is definitely the idea of the trackside buffet, it could have been the reason why we were so delayed in getting to our table. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, and will definitely be going again!
