We feel just the opposite - we find the food and service very good, and the price much more reasonable than Mandarin.

We made reservations in case but hardly a line unlike the experience at Dragon legend( had reservations but line up for it was still out the door and around building) It was busy but lots of food at the hot tables being refilled often, beverages refreshed and dishes from our table promptly removed. Service was attentive in the dining rooms and friendly by the hostess station. Lunch had enough items to be happy with, but it seemed like they altered the BBQ/Grill station to breakfast foods, like bacon and fried eggs and had a few empty slots where I remember had items previously. Highs: -Black peppered beef cubes very very tender and flavourful - fried noodles on point - tofu pudding dessert had a gingered sugar syrup to drizzle on top Lows: -peking duck seemed more hard instead of crispy skin - fried egg Left the restaurant very stuffed, kids were happy. They felt this buffet was decent and had more flavour than the buffet on Royal Caribbean. Was worth the trip here today, would return again.

Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted to a very clean and modern ambience that reminded me kind of like some of the big buffets in Las Vegas. Very cool setup where they have 3 self serve fountain drinks which is included in your buffet price. In the middle they have a grilling area where they are grilling Basa fish, salmon, chicken, sirloin steak. The steak was amazing they put this butter, garlic garnish on top that makes it so delicious. I had 8 of these steaks this evening! They also had a stir fry, soup noodle where you can choose your own ingredients, different vegetables and protein and carbs for them to either turn into a stir fry or soup noodle. They had plenty of ice cream to choose from as well as a soft serve ice cream machine. The service provided by the employees were top notch, so friendly, and helpful. Very pleased with my experience and just to note my visit was on a Friday night so your good selections may be different depending on a weekday or weekend.

When we had first arrived, we were told that it would be a two-hour wait, and that we would need to have a pager with us at all times that would be used to notify us once a table was ready. We weren't able to get a pager immediately as they were all being used therefore, we had to wait at least fifteen minutes before we were able to get one. Once we had that pager in hand, we waited about one hour for our table, which was actually not as long as we had expected. Upon entering the restaurant via an escalator from the first floor, we were pleased to see how picturesque it was. With the large windows showcasing the horse racing at the time, along with the tables that boasted their own private television screens, we were impressed with how wonderful and inviting everything looked. Upon being seated, we were given programs on the betting available for the evening's races, which was detailed with everything we needed to know. We also noticed that there was a middle-aged woman coming around, asking us if we were interested in placing bets during our dining experience. The diners went wild during the races, which created an exciting, yet sometimes, loud atmosphere. In terms of the dining, I was pleasantly surprised with how many options were available. Since it was only $12.95 (with a Winners Circle Card), I was blown away at how much food was placed within the buffet area, with an area dedicated to bread with a variety of spreads, another area with salads and other cold appetizers (such as artichokes, cold cuts, cheese, etc.), a hot table (with such items as lasagna, pizza, chicken, fish, and more), along with a dessert section, which boasted a wide variety of desserts, and a few dishes of fruit. All of the items were well-prepared, and everything tasted fantastic, with each item at the hot table coming onto my plate hot (temperature-wise), which is rare to find in a buffet. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this buffet, and would highly-recommend it to anyone who wants delicious food, at a low price. The only thing that I didn't like was the waiting period, and how slow it was, considering that many guests usually sit there the entire evening, watching the races and eating for hours on end. Although this is definitely the idea of the trackside buffet, it could have been the reason why we were so delayed in getting to our table. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, and will definitely be going again!

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.

Service was great, the staff were super kind and really quick to help us out whenever we needed something. They are doing a promo currently $50pp as its usually I believe $70pp. The interior is old school vibe church decoration feeling with some antique stuff. I'm here for the food and not much on the decor tbh. The spread is all laid out in a L format. Its not the typical buffet spread of having appetizers, mains and desserts and such. In fact, I didn't see any desserts but you can order for additional cost. Appetizers I guess are the salads... There were a few meat options there, but I was there for the seafood spread... They had octopus chunks, squid rings, shrimp, cold crab legs, lobster with tomalley, fish, mussels... Surprisingly, i thought the octopus, squid was quite good in taste and texture. The lobster was a bit tough like the old Mandarin buffet days with overcooked lobster but had tomalley to enjoy if you like that. Overall, I think its simple spread but enjoyable. For the promo price point its good. They also have live music performance as well. Better to go early so the food doesn't get cold and less crowded.

There was plenty of wait staff on site but communication between staff was quite poor. No one ever came by to see if we needed anything or to ask if we wanted additional drinks or the like. So we found ourselves having to constantly hail wait staff. A large portion of the weekend buffet was seafood. You would expect that when serving lobster and crab the tableware would include for seafood crackers. This is not the case. I asked for seafood crackers from two different wait staff and was advised they didn't have any. So I went to the matre d' and asked, she went into the back and brought some out for our table. If you serving lobster and crab, the restaurant should either provide crackers or pre- cut the claws ready to eat. With regard to the food, I would have thought they would have served some rolls or bread but we had to ask for this special. As well, most all the food was cold. So all in all, I expected more but a 3 star rating is about all I would give.

Their biryani is excellent and the bhindi with roti was really good. Tandoor chicken had a nice char taste and the butter chicken was really smooth. The fried fish was pretty good and not spicy. I would say though you are better off to go for dinner as it's only $4 more and you get a whole lot more items. The lunch doesn't have lacha paratha's, Haleem, warm gulab jamuns in the sauce and many other items. I was really disappointed. The other negative is that beverage nor tea is included in this price. Other buffets include A beverage AND tea! I might return but only for dinner not lunch.

The restaurant is spacious - lots of seating available for small and large groups. The recent addition of claw machines is a nice touch for kids and adults who would like to try their hands at catching some stuffed animals and prizes. It was a highlight for both of my sons when we took them here last year. My most recent visit was this past week when I was in Canada for a work trip and got to spend a few days with family in the Markham area before going to downtown Toronto for work conference. Highly recommend checking out Dragon Legend if you are looking for a good buffet with a nice range of delicious foods.
