Came for dinner on a weekend. There's plenty of parking in the mostly deserted plaza. The restaurant is pretty spacious. You can pick between the buffet options and/or order from the menu; we decided on the latter. We finally ordered four entrees: 1. Shrimp fried rice [4/5]: generous amount of shrimp, on the greasier side 2. Shrimp chow mein [4/5]: shrimp were really big and there was a generous amount here too 3. Shrimp and broccoli [5/5]: comes with carrots and celery as well 4. Mandarin chicken fillet [3/5]: basically chicken pieces battered and fried crisp with a spicy sweet red sauce, garnished with (raw?) broccoli. Would've been better if the broccoli were steamed Service was quick. My only gripe was that, when ordering, we asked our waiter what the Mandarin chicken fillet dish consisted of, he simply said, "I don't know." At least if you're unfamiliar with a dish, offer to find out. Overall, it's the typical Chinese diner. We arrived late in Page, and this was close to our hotel. They only have a buffet menu at about $15 per person. If you are a vegetarian like most of my family , i would go elsewhere as they only had about 4 items you could eat. Rice, noodle and mixed vegetables, the taste was avg. Two stars is being generous. Calling this Gourmet is really, really funny. The chicken we had was cooked to death and so crispy that "crisp" is about all you got... not sure what happened to the chicken part. The staff was friendly and nice and the service was pretty quick, but the seating was a little cramped and close. The price was a little high I think for what we got. I suppose that because the Gourmet word is in their name justifies the higher cost? Not sure about that because there is no way the food we were served was even average. I suppose that eating for many years in the Dallas Texas area has given me a better sample of real Gourmet food. This place is OK, but I'd just rather buy a hamburger & fries than come back here. I was in town for the Antelope Canyon. It was a cold Christmas week and this was one of the two Chinese restaurants in town. We proceed there, and luckily got in line before a tour bus. The selection was ok, but as I mentioned earlier, there's a tour bus load of people in the restaurant, so every time a new tray of food places on the buffet table, it's gone in 60 seconds. You get rude customers yelling at the innocent staff, the chefs were stressed, and front desk is dealing with the waiting customers, and so on. I think the only mistake is the restaurant name. You name it gourmet, people would have higher expectation. If it's just Mandarin Buffet, it might be better. The food is ok. Don't rate it based on your typical Rowland Heights standard. How far you drove to Page, is how far those food ingredients travel. I gave it 4 stars based on how bad I need something spicy for the cold night, and how it was convenient to have Chinese food 500 miles from Home. read more

There was not much in terms of restaurants here in Page. This place was extremely busy with bus loads of tourists and plenty of locals as well. It was a little troughy but I was able to pick up some items from the buffet to suit my taste and needs. I wasn't expecting much going in as my family and I were just looking for a place to eat. The food was fine, it was pretty good but the selection was small. Pretty good pricing though. It was fairly clean and well maintained but the lady who got our drinks and I presume was one of the owners was kind of awful and mean. The rest of the staff were on point and very responsive. It was also discouraging to find out that none of the busboys were getting a portion of the tip when I see them constantly cleaning, wiping tables, attending customers and their refills, etc. The owners (who included the mean lady) takes all the tip. It was also absurd that they demanded tip at the end as we weren't going to leave tip if it never gets distributed amongst all staff members.. Overall, the food was fine. Good pricing. Horrible restaurant!!! The poorest customer service that me and family experienced in our vacation in Arizona. The owner/manager was collecting the payments while customers are eating. Even my husband was nicely saying to wait after we finish eating, the owner insisted that he needs it NOW! Their food are not even fresh and very limited selections and poor hygiene especially in the bathroom. The owner was squeezing different groups of customers in one table even though there's some empty ones available. I will never recommend this restaurant at all! My husband and my brother and I came here to have a nice lunch but no. So this place is basically a bus-tour tourist trap. Many bus-tours team up with this all you can eat buffet and dump their passengers here to eat after a visit to Antelope Canyon. They charge $15 per person for an all you can eat sub-par Panda Express menu. Probably one of the most rude customer service experiences. First off, they seated us, and when everyone got their food, they gave us our bill. We asked if we could pay after since we just literally sat down and got our food. The one man collecting our bill was rude and insisted we pay now. They must be Gourmet Chinese or something, because living in Calfiornia I've been to many Chinese Buffet places but Mandarin Gourmet Chinese Cuisine fall under top 10 American-Chinese Buffet place I've been to. Came here during the Bus Tour. Never thought I would eat Chinese food in Arizona. According to our Bus guide, Buffet restaurant owner is Chinese-Korean and although it's a buffet style, the owner waits for the tour people to come in order to cook and provide fresh food. Their Chow-mein was really good, so were other dishes like Sesame Chicken, Beef Broccoli, Vegetable Spring Rolls, egg soup and many other great selection. I don't usually eat Spring Rolls because they tend to be too greasy for my taste, but their Spring Rolls were just right and really tasty. My wife loved their fried round donuts ball. Wished I remembered to take the photo and show you how good they look. I didn't pay for the meal directly for myself so I don't know how much was the buffet per person, but if I lived in Arizona and was craving American-Chinese food I will definitely come to this place. read more

They need to change their name..this is definitely not a gourmet restautant. The service was awful..and the buffet was mediocre. We had a party of 13..and 4 of us opted not to get the buffett...the waiterss..took our menus and told us .no..no menu items..and we told her..your front desk manager said yes..and she proceded to take pur orders..she was super rude. And when it was time to pay..the owner charged us for more adults eating the buffett than we actually have and .. the waitress and owner walked around and watched the diners like hawks..made a bad dini g experience.. We made sure..that we didn't touch anything from the others that opted for the buffett. And knew we were going to be charged wrong..when the other 2 tables besides us..all had to argue with the owner regarding their bills. When we got our bill..and yup..for sure..got charged for 2 extra buffett that wasn't true..and had to argue with the owner..that he is trying to take advantage of out of town visitors..but we aren't stupid people.. ans he needs to charge us the correct amount. I hate McDonald's but I surely would've enjoyed my dinner there as opposed to here. This is by far the worse so-called Chinese restaurant I have ever been to in my life! We came in on 5/23/15 Saturday night and we were a large group of 15. They were able to accommodate us. We should've gotten the hint when a couple walked out of the restaurant all upset and saying they were over this place. The owner was pretty rude when he asked us about how many kids but didn't know he wanted the ages broken down in detail....he could've asked nicer. My sister wanted to leave at that point but we were all tired and hungry and decided to stay. There's not much selection at the buffet and when we went there most of the trays were emptied. We had to wait for them to cook more food. Everything was super bland and even our kids in our group complained about the lack of flavor. All the meat dishes were chewy, the hot and sour soup was too sour, overall the flavor department was severely lacking. Panda Express tastes way better. We ordered drinks but didn't get them till the end of our meal. The owner was a real jerk. He over charged us for an extra kid but when we asked him to show us an itemized bill he just kept on saying it was right. My dad and my sister spent at least over 10 minutes with him at the counter just trying to sort out the bill. In the end he realized his mistake. So do check your bill for accuracy because he does over charge. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The owner could definitely use a course in hospitality training. I was told by the front desk that the Mandarin Gourmet Page, AZ does free delivery and was provided the Page - Lake Powell Official Visitors Guide. Within the guide Mandarin Gourmet had an advertisement stating they offer free delivery within town. So I called 928-645-5516 and I placed my order, gave my location, and room number. The person on the phone said it would be 20 minutes. Then I asked if I could pay by credit card, he put me on hold and asked the owner...In the background I heard the owner say "No Delivery!!!" I then said, but all of your advertising and the hotel told me that you deliver. They guy said "Not Today" and hung up. WTH!!! Chinese buffet but also can order individual items from the menu if you don't want buffet. My family ordered 3 dishes from the menu : Mongolian beef, orange chicken and beef chow mein.
