Birria plate
Danielle P.

We were looking for a place for dinner after a long day of driving and having explored Grand Canyon National Park briefly. Most of the local places didn't have great reviews, but this one had better than most. Bonus was we were staying at the Red Feather Lodge right next door, which offers meal discounts with proof of room key. We didn't have to wait for a table. Service was great. They were prompt with our drink refills and chips and salsa. The salsa was great! The place looks a bit dated, but was still a nice place to sit down for a meal. The menu is large and extensive, guaranteeing something for everyone. My youngest got the birria plate, my oldest got the camarones Vallarta and I decided to go with the chile Colorado. Either we were really hungry or everything was really good, or both, because we devoured our food! Definitely a decent option when visiting Grand Canyon Village!

Wait, you pay for chips and salsa???I'll pass ony next time to Grand Canyon .. We literally only seen our server at the time of ordering drinks, ordering food, and paying the check. What happened to the interaction during the dining experience. The food was sub par... We ordered the birria tacos as an appetizer. When it arrives... Wtf was the consume. All oil... Literally just scooped the top and didn't get nothing else. The meat and taco was ok.... I also had the tortilla spup. Can I say. I will need more flavor And less salt. The albondigas meatballs did not have good flavor maybe it was frozen..idk. and we did not get any salsa with our meal. Is that a staple item while eating Mexican food.

Decent Mexican restaurant near the Grand Canyon. Their chairs and tables are really interesting and colorful. I had the birria plate which was really good. The meat was so tender, rich, and flavorful. The rice was pretty good too. Fresh warm tortillas are included. Waiters are friendly.

Located right outside of the Grand Canyon's South Rim on SR-64/US-180 near Wendy's with plenty of parking. Our hotel was just a short walk away, so this spot was super convenient for dinner. We opted for takeout since we had our dog (although they have outside seating). We ordered their 'Bonita Salad' with steak and a 'Chimichanga' with ground beef. The salad was tender, though slightly under-seasoned steak. The Chimichanga tasted great but it was packed on a large catering platter rather than a standard to-go container, which made the beans a bit messy by the time I got it back to the hotel. They also included a bag of chips and salsa with our takeout which was a nice and delicious surprise. Prices at checkout were higher than those listed on their online menu. The restaurant was clean and organized. Staff was helpful and service was on time. Overall, it was a solid experience here.

Such a fun dinner at Plaza Bonita! Casual, clean and homey inside. Staff is super friendly and welcoming and made our friend's birthday so special. Little pricey but the portions are huge and enough for leftover. We were surprised by how good the drinks were - loco coco, lychee martini, and sangria were outstanding. Happy hour 2-5!

Stopped by Plaza Bonita and had a solid dining experience overall. Service was a standout: complimentary chips and salsa, food came out incredibly fast within 7 minutes, and our waitress was extremely attentive by checking in on us multiple times throughout the meal. I ordered the carne asada plate, and while the beef was a bit chewy and could've used more seasoning, the sides helped round out the dish nicely. The Spanish rice was flavorful, and the refried beans were topped off with cheese and salty enough to complement the plate. The plate also came with four corn tortillas, which were a great addition. The guacamole was fresh and chunky, just to my liking. Overall, quick service, extremely friendly staff, and solid dishes make this a place we can look forward to coming back to each time we're near the Grand Canyon.

Pork carnitas

Margarita is okay when you get specific with ingredients. Guacamole and chips is the only thing I would order again. We ordered the pork carnitas and they tasted old as did the rice. We are used to shredded tender pork but this was cubed stew meat. The service was attentive and they comp'd the carnitas with no hesitation.

We needed somewhere to stop and get dinner on our trip so stopped here. It was moderately busy. Food was just disappointing. It lacked flavor and quality.

Carne asada

Food was okay not the greatest Mexican food I had but good , I had the guac w the chips and I also ordered the shrimp fajita burrito , I wish I would have ordered the steak or chicken because the shrimp was slightly over cooked and a bit tough , my s/o had the carne asada which I tried a piece it was excellent juicy and flavorful over all the food was good but a bit overpriced for the quality , the staff was very friendly and attentive and it was a clean establishment

3.5 stars. Their main draw is their location right outside Grand Canyon. Ambiance is festive and colorful. The tables are a bit small for the large plates they provide, but that was just my observation. The place was pretty empty when we got there. We ordered the tacos al Pastor, pollo en mole, a house margarita and a lager. We got complimentary chips with two salsas (super spicy and normal) for the table. The food was decent, not outstanding but better than ok. The tacos were solid but the al pastor could do with more marination. The pollo en mole was good. I liked the tortillas and the mole wasn't too sweet (I don't like mole that is on the sweet side). The chicken was fine but I enjoyed the mole sauce more. The rice and refried beans were pretty average. The complimentary chips and salsa were also average. The salsas were not very spicy. The lager was fine but the margarita was disappointing because it was very flat. The menu is expensive for the quality of food, but I guess that is what you get for eating in a tourist town. This is a decent option if you are looking for food outside GC, but don't expect to be overwhelmed by the flavors.

What a great find. A Mexican restaurant w all sorts of classic breakfast choices. My best friend, Senor Wentzl, and I gave the hens a break today, and each had French toast w sausage links (the big ones, like Shaquille O'Neal's thumb). And potatoes. The FT was thick cut, with notes of vanilla and cinnamon, and dusted w powdered sugar. Really hit the spot. Coffee excellent, as well as service. 5 stars

Asade Plate

i was slightly worried to go here because of the other reviews. this is also based on the experience of my boyfriend and I. I wasn't initially going to drink but I ordered the spicy mango marg and OH MY GOSH was I glad I did. This has to be the best margarita I have had(and I am from socal). The chips and salsa were delicious, and I got the asada plate while my bf got the birria. Absolutely delicious for both and big portions so we have dinner for tonight! The price is a bit hefty but the servings are big and worth it. Our server was attentive and an overall great server. The room is cute and clean! I would 100% recommend especially after the grand canyon.

This place is great! Fast friendly service, good fresh food and a clean establishment, not much more you can ask for. I had the carne asada taco plate and everything was packed with flavor, ask for the spicy salsa, the flavor is really good and it's not too hot. Enjoy!

Are any of the dishes able to be made vegan? EDIT: went to eat and ate the Vegetarian Buritto!!! Very good.?

They had veggie dishes, beans, but not sure about cheese. They were pretty accommodating when we were there.

The Fettuccine Alfredo was actually good and was the best dish we tried. However, the spaghetti with meatballs and the pizza were just okay and nothing special. The biggest issue was the service. The staff seemed uninterested and not very welcoming, and the tables were not properly cleaned. What was even more surprising was that they did not have regular water or hot water available at all -- only sweet drinks. The overall level of service and cleanliness really affected the experience. Based on my visit, I would not recommend this restaurant.

The Harvey House Cafe is a place to meet and to enjoy a casual old-fashioned setting almost like our grandmother's kitchen, where we decided on breakfast and dinner on our last full day.
