This is a buffet restaurant, but we were very disappointed with the quality of the food, especially considering the price. Some of the oranges in the fruit section were already spoiled, which was very unpleasant to see. There was also crawfish, but they were extremely small and had almost no meat in the tails. One person at our table filled a plate with them, but after eating just a few, gave up because there was simply not enough meat to make it worthwhile. Overall, the dishes seemed to be prepared rather carelessly, and we did not feel the food quality matched the price. The food was also heavily seasoned with soy sauce, which made many of the dishes taste overly salty and unappealing. If I had a choice, I would not have chosen this restaurant. The restaurant itself feels quite old and dated, and the food did not look appetizing to me. Unfortunately, this was not a dining experience we would choose to repeat. Overall the experience was very forgettable. The food was average, honestly even a bit below average. Ingredients are not as fresh as they can be, and the taste was mediocre to say the least. The service is pretty unprofessional as well. However if you find yourself in Page and craving for Chinese food, this is the best you're going to get. We came to Page, Arizona to visit Antelope Canyon, and my parents were really craving Chinese food--which can be hard to find in the area. This restaurant came up in our search, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in without asking about the prices, but based on Google, we expected meals to be in the $10-$20 range, so we weren't too concerned. However, when it came time to pay, the owner told us it was $22 per adult and $12 for a child. We were shocked to end up paying $86 for 3 adults and 1 child. The selection of food was very limited, and the quality was mediocre at best. There was no itemized receipt, so we couldn't even confirm what we were charged for. I knew the reviews of the place was not good but decided to give it a try anyway since my wife wanted to eat Chinese food and there was no other choices in Page. Unfortunately, the real experience there was much worse than I could have ever imagined. The food taste was terrible and ingredients low quality and not fresh. The staff running around pushing a cart with dirty dishes and bump into people. Worse of all, my little boy told me he saw a couple bugs running on the dining table, really unbelievable! They were black and tiny, and ran very fast, so was hard to spot, but I managed to catch one with napkins. Looked like baby cockroaches or something similar. The food didn't taste bad, but it wasn't great either. My niece enjoyed the orange chicken and I liked the fried fish. My mother in law said "I'm pretty sure this isn't fresh" (as in fresh caught) and we had to remind her that she's visiting the desert. LOL. I don't know if I would have really called it a buffet... But we ate. Food was decently fresh but I'm assuming from the crowds of tourists that stopped in. We had to chase someone down to refill my soda. No one cleared our plates at our table, nor checked on us to see if we needed anything, which was ....fine?... since it was a 'buffet'? You have 40-45 minutes from the bus stop to finish your lunch! Most of the foods are gone after the first round. They're making very good money if the restaurant can keeps the entire $15 per person. Ok so I really WANTED to like this place. The food all looked good in the steamers. Good variety BUT NOTHING WAS HOT...I'm talking not really even warm!!!! Our server was rather impatient and rude, spewing obnoxious comments such as, "Will you be ordering tonight?" He's not Chinese, and it's not an English language issue. Plates were set at the table for the 5 of us as we originally wanted to order off the regular menu. However, a few of my friends were famished and opted for the buffet to avoid the wait. The plates used for our table setting were the same as those used for the buffet. Upon hearing that we changed our mind about ordering in favor of the buffet, the same server grabbed one of the plates and took it away saying that we didn't need them then. WTH? So, the buffet. Not what I would have opted, and for obvious reasons why. The MaPo Tofu was red, as if it was made with Siracha instead of the proper ingredients for MaPo Tofu. Similar with the Kung Pao Chicken, where the sauce it sat in was a bit sour, a sign of too much vinegar in the sauce. The meats were inexpensive cuts and may not have been too fresh as corn starch was used to marinate the chicken and beef with in order to soften the texture of those meats. End result is beef and chicken that is soft to the chew but has an unusual texture. Chow Mein or Lo Mein was just mainly noodles tossed in soy sauce and not much else. Same with the Fried Rice. Steamed rice was sticky and mushy, sign of too much water used in cooking the rice. Even the fried dumplings/gyozas had a bit of an acidic bite to them, caused by the chemical change of the cabbage and other processing ingredients used in these pre-packaged frozen dumplings. For $10.98, it's a bargain and an easy draw for many. For me, being worse than Chinatown Expresses found in Los Angeles and Panda Express, I just couldn't eat much of it. Rather, I focused on filling up on the vegetables used in some of the dishes as well as the mixed vegetable dish. 2 stars for the food. 1 star for the rude server (taller medium build gentleman with glasses). 1.5 Stars overall and rounding it up. Runners were helpful with clearing our plates promptly. Oh, one of the workers who brought out a stack of clean plates to restock the buffet bar? Dropped several of them onto the floor, and some of them ended up in the stack of clean plates at the buffet bar. Oy.... read more

The only reason why we went to this place is because my parents must eat at a Chinese restaurant wherever they go, even in the middle of nowhere in Arizona. For dinner, they offer a buffet as well as à la carte. The buffet is fairly inexpensive compared to other Chinese buffets I've gone to in California. However, you are getting exactly what you are paying for in the buffet. Let's just say that this place is the classic example of Americanized Chinese food. They serve everything from broccoli and beef to egg rolls to kung pao chicken--and nothing else. The options are fairly limited (only 3 small tables of food). It felt like I was eating out of a whole bunch of Chinese take-out boxes from a 20th century movie. The waiters also probably have no idea the differences between all of the à la carte items. We asked one of them for some dish recommendations and he literally replied with, "We have some fried vegetables, some meats, or some seafood." Thank you for helping me read the menu subheadings. It seemed like most of the people who went to this place were regulars, or people who probably lived in the area. I suppose if this is the closest thing they have to Chinese food around here, then this place is probably a great family dinner night. My husband and I were quite impressed with the freshness of the food and cleanliness of the restaurant. I asked the the waitperson if there were any vegan offerings and she actually took the time to show me. I have had so many people point in a direction or wave a hand as if to materialize a note with vegan items. I have yet to have a note appear but I digress. The Mapo tofu was spicy as promised and the vegetable lomain was full of vegetables and egg-free. There is white rice and another vegetable dish. The iced tea is fresh brewed and delicious. I'm Caucasian and my wife is Taiwanese and this place did scare us some. Each of us noticed on multiple occasions supposedly clean plates on the top of the stack with fried rice or some other food shrapnel remnant on them. If you're paying attention you can see the place isn't clean in more ways than one. The main problem is that tour buses (us included) are clearly this restaurant's primary business. As a result, you might see 4 or more huge buses pull into the lot at similar times and they try to squeeze as many diners as possible into this small with a lean toward medium-sized restaurant. This puts a ton of pressure on their staff and small kitchen to churn and burn because tours are on very tight timeline with lots of road travel. I hope it wasn't the case but I feared all dishes got a quick hot water blast and returned to the stack at the buffet. Somehow, some way though they had food ready to roll because when stuff ran out they replaced it quickly. Another problem is that it is one of few Chinese restaurants in a small desert AZ town. My dad lives in a town about 4.5 times the size of this town in CT and his Asian buffet blew the doors off this one. Dad's buffet was around $6.99 and this was $15.00 and his had twice as much food to choose from. That being said, there were a couple of highlights: FRIED DOUGH BREAD -- lightly dusted w/table sugar; great texture; one of the better renditions I've had FRIED CHICKEN -- not a golden hen mind you but it had a semi-crunchy dark coating and the chicken was good and pretty moist CHOW MEIN -- plenty edible but maybe not memorable Some other things were edible but not worth mentioning.
