Service and food is awesome! Large portions for the price. The place is clean (bathrooms are too!).

This rating is especially for the server Claudia and the on-duty manager Ana, on the day that I visited. Claudia is amazing. It was so obvious that she enjoys doing what I think must be the toughest service industry job. We human beings are not the most generous when we're hungry. LOL. I love the atmosphere. People who wait on you really try to get to you as fast as possible. Claudia has a knack for making you feel like she is interested in your meal and not moving on to the next table in a fairly fast-paced restaurant. Thanks Claudia!! I'll be back !! read more

We returned to give Mambo another chance and AM I GLAD WE DID! The first experience must have been related to Grand Opening issues but this visit was FANTASTIC! We started with delicious stuffed jalapeños followed by fried shrimp and grilled tilapia dinners and EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! The service was amazing as well and Manager Javier was especially gracious and welcoming. SO glad we tried Mambo's again! read more

Great mini date night with hubby! Cold beer and delicious food is perfect on a Wednesday night. Our waitress, Anna was the best, too. Thanks, Mambo! read more

Took the plunge and decided to try Mambo Seafood. Hedged my bets a bit and did takeout. Ordered on the phone and could hear the crowd noise in the background. Order process was smooth and simple. I ordered the #4 - 15 fried shrimp with a side plus a large special fried rice. It was ready in 15 mins. I drove up for the pickup (1 pm Friday) and their parking lot was jammed. Caution to everyone, people were speeding excessively in the lot and I almost got t-boned. The insides as well were completely full, but appeared to have plenty of friendly staff. Proceeded to the back to pickup my order, no issues. The food was the price was very good. The shrimp batter was flour based (not cornmeal) and a bit bland. Since I was home, I used a spicy horseradish cocktail sauce I had in the frig. Shrimp were butterflied and about a 15-20 count size. Clearly hand prepared and not processed food. Good for them, not overdoing the Sysco processed food thing! One negative, for takeout, they give you Kraft tarter sauce (no thanks to those chemicals). The fried rice is tasty and they give you a ridiculously large amount. Double of any other place for the price. The quality of the fried rice is not as good as a true Chinese wok rice in terms of layers of complex tastes, but still quite good. This rice is most like what you would do at home on a Blackstone Griddle - rice, soy, green onion, bits of shrimp/ Pork / Chicken. Tasty but not gourmet. In all for the price and value a nice place to get your "seafood" grub on! Next time need to sample their drinks! read more

This is our first time dining at the Katy location. We got there and there was a huge crowd waiting, there was even a line just to get our name in the waiting list. We were told it would be 50 minutes, so I gave her my name and phone number. Immediately I received a texted where I can view my place in line and keep track of how long we were waiting. We decided to stop by Sam's to pick up few items while we wait, then after about 35 minutes I received another text saying that our table is ready. I checked out at Sam's pretty fast and drove there. They were still holding the table for us and we got seated right away. Now about the food: my husband and I ordered Michiladas, they were icy cold, salty and so spicy good. Then came out the ceviche combo, oh so wonderful with the saltine crackers. I really wanted to try the fresh shucked Oysters, so I ordered 6 of them. They were extremely fresh with squeeze of lime and some hot sauce, so delicious. Everything that we ordered was outstanding. The manager even stopped at our table to thank us for coming and was very friendly and polite. My kids, my husband and I enjoyed our food very much and we will definitely go back very soon. read more

Mambo Seafood - Seafood Near Me - Katy, Texas

Delicious, Great service, food well prepared and served. The place gets a bit crowded at tie due to the location, but the wait is well worth it. I've visited this Particular restaurant three times and every experience was pleasant. The restaurant was also clean and spacious. It made my top 10 seafood restaurants in the area. Awesome! read more

Great food great atmosphere love the mambo shrimp and the chipotle tilapia also had the fried fish platter it was great too

Ordered take out and got the fried shrimp and fried rice and got food poisoning later on that night !! Don't know if the shrimp was already old and I couldn't tell since it was fried or I ate some bad rice. Horrible experience. read more

Ate here the other night with my wife ... got the large size Gumbo and fish dish ... Everything was great.

I'll give this 1 star so far as the hostess who were taking names and phone numbers passed up people who don't look anything Hispanic even someone who was but had a pale complexion was passed up. SMH! The wait was over 2 hours?!? Wow, take out was 30 minutes plus... No sorry. Nothing worse for cold food and rude unattentive waitresses. I get it you are busy on a busy 'holiday' but any other day you are just the same. I'll give you another try on a non holiday and see how that works out. read more

They're customer service isn't the best, but the food is cheap and decent for fast food seafood. Also when ordering To go, add 10-15 mins on top of whatever they tell you. I've never gotten my order on time. read more

Horrible experience, waited 15 min and no one helped us, I had to get up and ask for the waitress, she told me she would send someone. My friend then got up 5 min later and still no one waited on us. Horrible customer service read more

EATING THIS MEAL WAS A HUGE MISTAKE The Calamari was overcooked .WAY to crunchy dark and hard.Breading was not light like it should be. I know this because I am a 20 year restaurant management veteran and have made calamari many times. The calamari left a bitter aftertaste....like the fryer was dirty. The rice and redfish was just mediocre....not very good either. STOMACH FEELS BAD.THANKS TO MAMBOS I AM NOW TAKING IMODIUM. I am very disappointed and thought you guys could do better. JUST ANOTHER GREASE PIT AND A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY Captain Tom's across the street blows Mambos away. I cannot understand how busy this place is ....I am posting to the BOARD OF HEALTH IMMEDIATELY! read more

We only waited 10 minutes after being told it would be 30-40 minutes. I order the mixed grill. The fish and shrimp were cold, the rice was plentiful but had a slight burnt taste. My wife ordered the fried shrimp. Her rice also had a burnt taste, and the shrimp was a bit bland. The service was friendly and quick considering the crowd. I wanted to like this place, maybe we'll give it another shot down the road. read more

We walked in ready to eat. The hostess sat us and we didn't get greeted by anyone. No drink order no nothing. We asked a waitress if we could move to another table she said yes but to wait for it to be cleaned. It wasn't cleaned till way later. We never got moved then someone finally came to take our order. We asked if we could finally move and they said yes but it's not clean yet even tho 10 more min already passed. Then some other ppl were coming in and they got sat at the table where we were suppose to be sat at. More time passed by and we had our drink order done BUT still no drinks were taken to our table. Then we left because no one was doing anything and more ppl were done meaning less tables and a lot more help from the workers. Whenever we decided to leave because we weren't treated right since everyone had some attitude and a rude face. When we got to our vehicle two of the waitress were making some rude faces towards us like if we had done something wrong. They didn't even ask. No one said sorry for anything the worse place honestly. read more

Placed a order for pick up waited 25 min then when arriving the girl says they gave my order to someone else due to them forgetting to ask what their name is for their order so they just gave that person my order and expected me to wait another 20 min for a new order strike 1 in my book read more

Food was good, however I found a hair in my plate. Fortunately the manager was nice and effecient while handling the situation.

I visited Mambos for the first time yesterday evening. I went to the Katy location. I ordered grilled salmon with veggies. Took about 40 Min for the food to come out and when it did, my salmon tasted awful. Ive never tasted such rotten salmon in my life. It tasted sooo fishy and tangy. Others with me tried it also and agreed it was definitely rotten. I felt like regurgitating when I tried to swallow it. I just hope I don't get food poisoning. Informed the waitress, she didn't seem to understand English, so another waitress explained to her what the issue was. I chose a different item from the menu and it came out within 10 minutes. Second time around food was fine. However, I will never be ordering salmon from there again. read more

Food is good, drinks are great and staff is really friendly. Will be coming back soon!

Great food and great service! I love there rice and seafood it's always fresh and on point! Will be coming back for more!!

The manager made such a big deal over substituting chicken fried rice for shrimp fried rice. It's on the menu so we couldn't understand what the big deal was. He's certainly not big on pleasing customers by simply making a slight change. We didn't even ask for the manager. We just politely asked the waitress for the substitute and she said she had to "get permission". read more
