The food was pretty good. It wasn't my favorite seafood place but it was good. The service was a little underwhelming. They were very busy so it took a while for our server to come around each time. We had to go up to the counter to get refills and additional items we needed. They do not provide gloves so if you need gloves to eat your seafood, make sure you bring your own Overall this was a good experience and I'm sure we'll be back again

I've been craving La Fisherman and decided to fulfill that craving. I was not disappointed. La Fisherman is still and will probably always be good! Not pictured, but I also got boiled shrimp w/ an egg, sausages, and corn. Delicious!

I was kinda surprised at how pleased I was with my visit. I walked in and placed an order and it was out within 10 mins or less. While I waited I was offered water! The restaurant was clean. The cashier was nice. I was able to order in half pounds and not just a whole pound which I appreciated. I got boiled shrimp with the head on at the level medium and the Cajun and garlic flavors combined. Super tasty. It was hot, had my nose running. My only gripe was online it says we can call in and order but I think the line was disconnected or went straight to voicemail. Other than that, no notes. I'll be back!

So, we ended up at LA Fisherman on Highway 6 for the first time, and let's just say, it'll probably be our last. Overall, we'd generously rate it a 2/10 , and that's purely for the flavor and heat. The crawfish were tiny , with the one in the picture actually being one of the larger ones. Way too many were mushy, missing tails, crushed or just loose claws. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for. For now, we'll be sticking to our go-to spots, Hank's and Bayou Seafood & Wings. But we're always on the hunt for great crawfish, so if you have any recommendations, drop them in the comments! We'd love to check them out!

You cannot place online orders or call in orders at this location. Otherwise service was great when we arrived they were prompt with taking our orders, and even offered us water while we waited. The boiled shrimp was not that great i ordered the house special i think it would've been better without the lemon pepper. The sauce had a muddy texture which i was really a fan over. Overall, everything was just okay.

a chunk of knife or blade.

8/19/25 We dined in. The food itself was good, we both ordered fried shrimp, and my Bf added the seafood boil with sausage and corn along with it. We enjoyed it overall. Customer service was decent; The waitress wasn't very attentive, but a gentleman (manager or chef, not sure) came around to check in, which I thought was nice, BUT now looking back on it maybe it was to see where his knife bit went! We werent able to finish the half pound of sausage so we took it home! Next day im eating and find the edge of a knife bit in a piece of damn sausage. At first, I thought it was just really crispy but then when i bit down i was like wtf is this a rock so i spit it out and volia! a chunk of knife in my sausage, boy was i disappointed, and man was i more disappointed that we didnt find it while we was there!! anyway, becareful when you order food at LA because you never know when there will be a knife bit in your food! The knife bit looks worned down and like it was used over the stove too plenty of times. I dont think it was purposely placed but accidentally broke off. I understand this is an older restaurant, but safety should never be overlooked. Replacing damaged/worned tools and silverware is basic kitchen practice. This could've been avoided completely, and worst someone couldve gotten seriously injured. Do better! the flavor is too good for a review like this!

Just to add to my bad review when I got done their main pictures is even of a toilet?! This is bad Managment overall at this place.

This is the second time I have been here. I really wanted this place to be good. But it wasn't.... I had the $60/lbs, King Crab Legs for a Father's Day treat to myself. They were like rubber and tasted horrible. The shell was soft and couldn't even crack. Even the meat was rubbery. From what I'm reading on google that means they could have been bad before they were cooked. I didn't even finish them and just wanted to leave. The positives... the shrimp were good and the sauce was good. I'm pretty sure the king crab was bad. It took forever to find our server again and even close out. I won't be going there again.

Service was good, drinks (soda) were flat, chicken wings gross, spicy but no flavor, boiled shrimp and crab were okay, spicy but lacked flavor, fried fish I do not recommend. I did enjoy the fried shrimp and if I return would only order the fried shrimp.

They even play the football games.

It was disgusting the crawfish tasted like swamp water. It was overcooked and mushy and had no flavor or heat to it.

They have a few TVs and a full bar. They haven't set up where you order at the counter and pick your food up at another counter. However, I stood at the order counter for a good 5-10 minutes and no one vet came over. I could see one girl just walking around and even stepped out for a smoke and another one at the bar on her phone with no customers. I finally walked around to the side and asked how can I place my order. A young man finally came around to take my order. I got the 3 catfish filets with fries and the 6 piece fried oysters with fries ( don't usually eat fried food but felt like it). I too the fried fish to my mom and I ate the oysters. The fish was rather tough as if it were way overcooked. My mom was chewing it as if it were chicken or steak. I tried it myself and yes it's overcooked. Has decent flavor but does matter when it's tough fish. The oysters were crisp and tender though (pretty good). The French fries are decent, the fry technique seems as if it has batter or something on it but had seasoning. I was very hopeful but won't be back .

They pay premium price so all of the crawfish are huge. Also did you see that blue crabs? When was the last time you seen a blue crab that big?!!! Also don't get me started on the customer server. 10/10. They had a waiter standing next to my table cleaning and emptying my shell bucket every 10 minutes. The crawfish and blue crabs were so big that I had to Togo leftovers. I'm the kind of guy that can eat 10lbs of crawfish by myself had to Togo 3lbs of crawfish, 3 blue crabs, a sausage link, 3 corns and a bowl of gumbo. I was shock that I couldn't eat another bite. Michael, the owner, greeted us and took care of us! We started with the Jumbo Crab Fingers which were really good - I'm honestly not huge on seafood, so I enjoyed these a lot more than I thought I would. Ironically, I'm not big on oysters either, so I ordered the Jumbo Golden Fried Shrimp which hit the spot real good. Large shrimp, well fried, flavored, and the tartar sauce was addicting. The fries that came with it were perfectly seasoned, carrying a bit more of a cajun flavor rather than just regularly salted. My parents definitely enjoy oysters, so they ordered the Charbroiled Oysters and really enjoyed it, as well as the Uni Oyster with Quail Egg. They also got the Cowboy Lobster Shrimp Roll that was gone before I even took a second look their way. We finished the meal with a yummy, dense basque cheesecake! Every customer that came in during our time there was personally greeted by Michael, and it seemed like they were all repeat customers. It was really cool to see that kind of connection, and it really showed how much Michael cares about his customers, and how much we like his food! Indoor seating is a bit limited - all bar stool seating. I rarely comment on the music that a restaurant plays, but I quite liked it! Made me feel like I was on the bay enjoying some fresh seafood at sunset. Heard they'll be opening up their newest location at POST soon!

CITRUS HEAT CRAWFISH (medium heat): Strong kick when dipped in the juice at the bottom of the bag. Good flavor, but doesn't compare to my favorite crawfish flavor (The Mix at Crawfish Cafe). Large to medium-sized crawfish (late May). GARLIC BUTTER MUSSELS (mild heat): Really good! Large to medium-sized mussels. RAW OYSTERS: They were fine. Not bad, not particularly great. The word that came to mind was lackluster. I know they're gulf oysters, but I've had much better gulf oysters. Large to medium-sized. No small ones. Came with 1 small lemon slice and 4 small lime slices. LOBSTER BURGER: Really good! Great flavor! Good, brioche bun! Felt loaded! They didn't skimp on lobster meat. I saw a whole small claw in there! Appreciated the toothpick to keep it all together as much as possible. Would've been pretty messy without it. The FRIES were really good as well! Lightly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and well-seasoned. GUMBO: This was not very good. The rice was fully submerged under the gumbo, not on the side. The rice was also a little hard/undercooked. The meats were bland. The gumbo soup was very thin, like water (I prefer it thicker in consistency). On the bright side, the soup was flavorful.
