Came in for a late lunch for our anniversary and we were one of two tables seated during the duration of our meal, but yet we got zero service. The girl that waited on us was silent and never responded to anything, even when we told her thank you. No refills on our banchan or drinks, never even checked in on us until we asked for the bill. I understand it's a family run establishment, but I kind of feel like having a baby in the kitchen being passed around is some kind of health code violation. They all just stood/sat around while just watching us which was awkward. They also put on a soccer game and showed more interest in that then serving their paying customers. Prices are astronomical here, beyond ridiculous and the meat in my hot stone bibimbap was flavorless little shreds (seemed like leftovers). No sauces or anything at the table, nor did they offer any either. They have only a handful of things under their appetizers and items that seemed like they should be under appetizers were listed under entrees for triple the cost. We paid $90 after tip for LUNCH for TWO which were two entrees and two apps. Not worth it for the prices, taste of food, or the lack of service. First of all, these prices are insane!!! Basically a combo with beef and rice are priced between $37 to $43, really?! The flavor/marinade is decent but they're not "deliciously worth $40 dang dollars" The beef is not high end, not prime cut tender quality. Service was okay, waitress was attentive, but nothing stood out. The drinks were by the can. Prices were pretty outrageous. Portions were small for the price you pay. $10 for corn cheese. $36 for short ribs. I could've driven to San Diego and had all you can eat KBBQ for the same price. Lovely to see a korean restaurant in sun city! I came with my family on a Wednesday afternoon, pretty quiet. There was no wait which is great for us. The restaurant itself is very cleanly. Service was good as well! They were very attentive to us and our needs, checking in often. We ordered gimbap; they give a pretty big amount! I got kimchi soup with a side of ramen, amazing. Mama's was recommended to me by my mama LOL Honestly some of the best Korean food I have had in the IE. although the prices at this family run business are not necessarily cheap I think it's well justified by the portions and also that everything they make is home made(and delicious). Why did we wait so long to come in.? Everything we ordered was fantastic. Appetizers: Fried Dumplings & Sweet and spicy chicken (not too spicy) Beef Tofu soup was very good. My husband and I got into a terrific argument within a few minutes of ordering, and spent dinner in stoney silence. What kept me going, however, was the warmth of the beautifully subtle ginseng chicken soup, which comes with an entire small chicken. Yes. Two thighs, two wings, two breasts and all. (You guys know chicken). I grew up with this, so I was used to it, but a first-timer might be a bit shocked at the amount of meat. The chicken itself is stuffed with ginger, green onions and rice (congee-style), and it brought me straight back to my childhood. We're so happy to find another option for Korean staples in the area. We only have like 2 kbbq places and 1 tofu place we go to in the Temecula, Murrieta, Winchester and Menifee area before. My cousin and his wife would easily get two meals out of the leftovers with some food STILL remaining. All-in-all, GO to Mama's Kitchen. The food is mouth-watering for out-of-the-way Korean food, outside of L.A. Koreatown, AND the service was lightning fast. HIDDEN GEM! If you are not familiar with the area, you may miss it. It's located in an older shopping center in Sun city off of McCall. I am so excited and glad to have mama's kitchen in the area. Whenever I was craving Korean food, I would have to drive to OC or LA. Now I finally have a place locally to go to satisfy my cravings. We discovered this place last week on accident through Yelp. I was so surprised to see Korean food show up even though I searched Thai food which is next door to it. I knew we had to try this place out. We ordered to go and absolutely loved the food. My kids couldn't stop talking about the food from mama's kitchen. I've never seen them eat so much! We ordered the beef soon tofu and short ribs. Both excellent! My kids asked to dine in this time so we did. We got to meet Juju who was so nice and helpful. She saw that I had my hands full with my little ones and helped me out. My kids said she was really nice. Food was just as good if not even better dining in because you get the tofu comes out nice and hot in the stone pot. The place is new and clean. Food is excellent and service is great. I most definitely recommend checking this place out. There aren't very many Korean restaurants in the area but even if there were. I'd say this place would be top on my list. I'll address the price which in some previous reviews mentioned. Everyone has their own opinion and I am not trying to discredit that. This is what I think about pricing. I think food prices have gone up in general. On top of that what I've experienced is that pricing in general is higher for Asian food in this area. I've accepted it because I understand that there aren't other similar restaurants to compete with. I pay less for Asian food in LA or OC I think because there is more competition. So I can pay less but then I have to do the drive. Now I'm paying for gas, my time, wear and tear in my vehicle and being in the road longer which more chance for a car accident. I'd be unhappy paying more if I thought the food wasn't good. My family and I think the food taste great so we will continue to come back! read more

I am glad I don't have to drive to Temecula or San Diego to get some good Korean food. I've been here twice now and the food is delicious, but it seems a bit over priced for the amount of food you get. You do get the sides you would normally see at a Korean BBQ place, but you don't have to grill the food yourself unlike most Korean BBQ places. The lunch special they have during the week is half price for half the serving and again still isn't a whole lot for what you pay. I really want to love this restaurant. We got 3 orders of food costed 70.00 which is normal for Korean food. However I asked for extra side waitress said it's free because we get 2. I tell wait til I try it first. Then it was good. I asked for my second set of the free side. She like no it's not free. Only 3 is. My 3rd is to go. I said please add the sides to my daughter order and she tells me it's extra. The food is good but customer service sucks. Small bowl of rice for a fish item that's 24.99 like really. So sorry that the pic doesn't show the large portion of sizzling bulgogi that came with my meal or the side of broccoli as well as the eggplant/mushroom combo...I was starving and dove in before taking a pic. I had the bulgogi lunch special and it was enough to fill me up and I'm a hungry girl so the average person should definitely walk out of here satisfied. The kimchi was amazing. It was all so flavorful. My server, Vickie was attentive and kind, she was great! While eating my lunch I got to rock out to Korean music videos playing on the TV and watch Mama of Mama's Kitchen walking around. I will definitely be back and bring my husband for a date night.
